Dune: Part Two (2024)

The perfect sequel.

To see a successor so good that it almost outshine it's predecessor is rare. Last time I saw this happen was with the Dark knight. I don't want it to be another dark knight because I want Dune 3 to ascend even beyond this but the bar is set just too high.

Through the movie characters are given more depth, new ones are introduced there motivations are shown, and yet we cannot simply say who to root for. All characters have their own sets of dynamics and even the simplest of lines in part 1 are given a grand entry in part 2. The visionary director once again succeeded in providing some new breathtaking visuals and too see Hans Zimmer give another great musical is just the cherry on top you need.

Overall it's a great movie and a great successor to Dune 1. The scale is set too high but I know the director will have something new waiting for us in part 3 as well.

Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)

Brutal and beautiful.

Watching this movie was no less than a journey. I couldn't complete it in 1 sitting, I took 3 days to finish it. And needless to say, it was worth it. Yes, I agree for a movie this is a long one. But I don't think any editing or removal of segments would have kep the impact equal to what it has as of now. The brutality of human nature, the greed for money and the nature of love are all shown here. The philosophy this movie follows is one to be pondered about.

The actors did a great job in there scenes. Brandan Fraser's had select scenes but in them he was absolutely wonderful with his act. Then there was acting from Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, they were just too good to be believable on screen together.

This movie is like an orchestra that sounds beautiful because everyone does their part right. From actors' acting to director's directing, everyone fits here like a perfect screw. It was brutal and beautiful.

Bullet Train (2022)

Can't get enough of this.

This one was something I longed for a really long time. I wanted to watch a movie with fast pacing and giving only right amount of everything to keep me on edge of the seat. The way that every character has their own show in everything makes this movie so fun to watch through all the perspectives that there are in it.

Every character held an important place and when movie sums it up it just seems perfect it doesn't seem rushed, it doesn't feel slowed, it feels just perfect. Also I must say the style of backstory for each character including the background music was just perfect, the selection of music works amazingly good with every scene.

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Remember Red, this movie is a timeless masterpiece.

Who knew that this would one day be the highest rated movie on IMDb, so famous and loved by so many people. I think this is a must watch for everyone since we all can relate to it at least once throughout.

This has the hidden meaning too, which I hope you find at the end of movie. It was lovely and I still re-watch it whenever I feel down, never got bored. It will always stay in my top 5 movies of all time. The way the characters develop over time, especially with Morgan Freeman's voice narrating it, movie gets immense depth ranging from the story to the characters.

Absolutely, these actors have us a fine masterpiece one that is worth the time.

Stray (2022 Video Game)

Breath of a fresh air.

After playing so many extremely action packed games, I wanted something like this. Yeah there might be some other games like this but it stands out to be different than others. Short gameplay makes me want more of it. But the number of features it has shows that giving too many features does not always mean the game is good too.

Overall the game is amazing, beautiful and just breathtaking.

The Shining (1980)

Will do the job to scare you.

This movie is one the works of Stanley Kubrick and is one of the ones that I love the most. All cinematography, acting and soundtracks just add up as qualities in the movie. Movie never loses the element of horror away for long time. It keeps you glued to screen and never gets boring.

But it left too many things for viewers to crack down. Multiple theories one will have to give in order to understand most elements of movie after ending makes it a little irritating.

But in the end YouTube can help you around it. Of course if you are a big movie geek than you can create a couple theories of your own too. Leaving things out is somewhat irritating but still the movie is pretty chilling and that element of horror by surprise never leaves one alone.

Life Is Beautiful (1997)

Slow first half, but an incredibly beautiful second half.

I had spoilers for this movie, especially the ending was something I completely knew. But when I watched it, I still enjoyed the movie. The way this movie shapes even in the first half is good but story's progression is marvellous in second half.

The movie is emotionally powerful, great character design and amazing screenplay. We can feel the condition that people at holocaust might have felt. It is too good to miss out on.

12 Angry Men (1957)

Thought provoking olden masterpiece

I have been putting this movie off for later because of how old it is. But yesterday when I had nothing to watch I decided to watch it. And now I am glad that I watched it. This movie works in a very different way. At times you might get to know where the talks are going but there will also be times when you will be wrong too.

All instances in movie look super good. Especially for a movie that takes place in just one room it is too good. After watching a lot of modern movies a flick this olden masterpiece can make you feel real good about olden times.

Give it a try, your 96 minutes will be worth it.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Overrated?

The movie brings out as one the best projects ever done by Quinton Tarantino and one of the best joined by its cast. It is extremely popular plus concept is all together phenomenal. Sam Jackson satisfies in his role and characters have nice writing.

So is the movie overrated? Nah.

Forrest Gump (1994)

Powerful and inspirational.

This was an amazing job done right here. It had some new concept with good actors to bring that idea to screen. The direction was nice, additional things only added to the beauty of the film. Don't think I will ever get something like this again.

Saving Private Ryan (1998)

Intense action moments with an engaging story.

The movie is almost flawless. The action sequences are so good that it feels like you are there on the field witnessing it all. Movie had a great direction. Actors outdid themselves, without a doubt this was the best casting this movie could have had.

Everything fits itself. The story is one of those phenomenal ones which don't have to twist everything yet they do an amazing job.

Interstellar (2014)

Complicated? I think not.

The movie truly shows how the mind of writers and imagination of director works. How far the new concepts in movie can be added is shown here. It not only explores the space but it also has a very solid base for plot. Often times base is neglected while seeing the bigger picture but it does not do so. If you think it is all about exploring space then you are wrong.

A lot of criticism goes to movie because people find it complex. But to be fair it is not complex. It has some elements that you might not understand but it still does not mean that you won't understand it at all.

Good Will Hunting (1997)

Deep, beautiful and inspirational.

This movie took me on a ride that I did not think it will take me on. All the things and elements that affect character really act as a unique part of movie. Plot is pretty interesting and was one of a kind the time it came.

Actors were wonderful and without a doubt direction seemed amazing.

The Green Mile (1999)

Long in length but never makes you feel that.

After watching the movie you cannot move on from it for quite some time. The story is unique and the concept really seems out of the world. Actors portraying their characters never make it feel like lacking.

Once the movie catches your interest which it does in first 15 minutes, it never loses it. Throughout the movie we go through an emotional rollercoaster. It is worth the time.

Zodiac (2007)

Good but long.

The movie is too long and tells us about its length at times. But the story is almost perfect. The actors do their job wonderfully. Execution of some scenes is well done. Parts of the movie gets slow nothing too boring but the pace catches up pretty quickly as well.

It is nice that David Fincher delivers a product worth our time again. And most people who enjoyed his previous movies will enjoy this one too. Even if you are new to what he makes maybe this can get you hooked to his work.

K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022)

Buildup for nothing.

The movie was entertaining but the story went downhill in comparison to chapter 1. There are easily avoidable plot holes. Even if we talk about the movie as an individual it still has a lot of mistakes. The action sequences were ridiculously long and poorly choreographed. The visual effects are extremely bad that movie from 2005 had better effects. Does not seem like a high budget movie and definitely not worth the hype it gets or a theatrical watch.

The money it is making seems like a joke from desperate Indian audience.

CODA (2021)

Something we wanted to see in a long time.

This movie is just beautifully done. I am out of words for this masterpiece. The amount of struggle disabled goes through and the trouble there loved ones have to tackle is enormous. This movie shows it wonderfully. Not boring at all and has all the elements a perfect should have. I loved it you might like it too.

Tenet (2020)

Just over the top.

This movie is amazing. I loved it , the story does get a little loose from mind at times but never feels boring. Makes a lot sense when it finally ends, no plot holes seen. Humour was improved by some amount in the movie. Maybe the best performance Robert Pattinson could give ( I have not watched Tha Batman yet).

A must watch for every Nolan fan.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

The best spider man movie.

It is the best spider man movie and I am saying it after watching no way home(NWH). Yeah NWH is nostalgic and big budget and all but the concept is super similar to spider man into the spider verse. And the logic behind spider verse in this movie is way better that that in NWH. No wonder this movie is the best animated movie in Oscars list.

Give it a try it is worth it , plus it will give you a break from the concept and story of Peter Parker when you will see a new spider man.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021)

Not worth it.

Do not watch it. It misses everything a good show should have. It is just a waste of time. Someone must tell the show runners that nudity and gore does not make anything amazing.

In the end it is not worth it at all.

Don't Look Up (2021)

Too much politics.

Actors have done an amazing role in their part. But the movie in overall is just too politic, makes it seem so unrealistic. Screenplay was mediocre seeming at times too. Plus the ending was entangling as well.

So yeah not an amazing movie, but we can call it average.

BoJack Horseman (2014–2020)

Clear as a mirror.

Okay now this show truly reflects the person who is watching it. Like everytime we want to do something right but end up screwing and just keep falling in eyes of people whom we want to live us. But the best part is it ends in such manner that you never want to give up on anything because it gives you a hope for something amazing to achieve.

I watched it on continuous pressure from friends and feeling of being left out in conversation about what if. But now I feel good for the past me who hadn't watched it.

It is boring never gets interesting and some episodes even leave the ending hanging making us guess that it will continue in next episode while it doesn't.

In short not worth it unless you want to like marvel less than before.
