Skyggen i mit øje (2021)
A masterpiece..
I am a big fan of war movies and heard a lot about this film. I saw it last night and was totally blown away (excuse the pun).the acting especially by the three kids was first class.the boy with ptsd was harrowing the way the doctors treating him.when the school got hit and the parents running to the school you could feel the anxiety and pain in their faces.and it a true story as well..the sub plot with the policeman (ivar the boneless from vikings) and the nun I thought was a bit pointless it's my only gripe but doesn't detract from a fantastic film a definite must see even if you don't like war films. 10 out of 10..
County Lines (2019)
Great film..
I saw this film on bbc2 beginning of the year and was well impressed. I grew up in hackney east London and can totally relate to this film. It is warts and all the lad in this film deserves to go far he played a very good role in it. I can't understand why this film didn't have a wider audience it deserves it it sends a message that drug dealing is bad news.not that it gonna make a difference.overall I gve this a 10/10 it such a good film it deserves a wider audience..the only gripe I got is that the drug dealer got away he should have been arrested but that's my opinion..
But the message is there..
Plane (2023)
A bit far fetched
I like Gerald butler so was looking forward to seeing this but..it was so far fetched even the wife was laughing at it.i won't give away too much but you got to watch it with an open mind.he lands a plane in a jungle in one piece finds a phone on an island in the Philippines and starts ringing new York and California (no time difference by the way).the rescue party seem to fly from America to the Philippines in about an hour.etc etc. Was disappointed in this film. Will still go to see more of his films though..overall it wasn't a bad film you just need to leave your brain at the door and pick it up on the way out..
La Brea (2021)
Total nonsense.
Where do I start? I don't think i've ever seen such woke unbelievable nonsense as this.. the storyline is so unreal I thought I would give it a go but when they found the message in the bottle I turned it off. The Sci fi channel would seriously struggle to make this drivel if you want to watch something watch paint dry it's more entertaining and less far fetched..why they signed up for this I will never know.nbc you have made a big Turkey..
Ghosts of Mars (2001)
Great film..
Can't understand all the haters this is a great film. OK so Jason Stalham isn't the best actor but the rest of the film is brilliant..10/10 from me..
Life on Mars (2006)
Brilliant..
I first saw this in 2006 and was instantly hooked.this is how cop shows should be 10 out of 10..
No Country for Old Men (2007)
Mindblowing..
Just watched this film for the second time and was still blown away..this deserved all the awards and Oscars it won.this is how films should be made..10/10.
Intergalactic (2021)
Not what I thought..
Was looking forward to this but was disappointed.just a lot of woke nonsense..
Frank of Ireland (2021)
Not funny
Was looking forward to this but have to say didn't laugh once. If you want real Irish comedy watch the young offenders..
The Warriors (1979)
The ultimate gang film.
I first saw this film on its release and was blown away. This film was ahead of its time the gangs the fights it wast one of the best films I had seen and still is..10/10.
SAS: Red Notice (2021)
What was that..
One word..terrible. I dont think I've seen such rubbish in a long time.lost count of the ridiculous plot holes bad acting etc etc. Also women in the SAS? Really. One star and that's being generous..
Your Honor (2020)
Unbelievable..
This looked good but has many holes in it.when the accident happened there was not a car or soul to be seen same on the bridge when he was dumping the clothing..I'll give it a few episodes and hope it gets better..
The Young Offenders (2016)
Great craic..
Caught this the end of 2018 and absolutely loved it. My dad was from Cork so could relate to this film totally. I'm so glad they have made a second series of it which was hilarious. Long may it reign.. 10 out of 10..
Joker (2019)
Not impressed
I saw the reviews and gave it a go. Apart from the fabulous acting from all concerned the rest of the film left me dissapointed. Just like to say joauqin phoenix deserves best actor Oscar next year..
Bite (2015)
Above average
I saw the reviews and thought to give it a go and.. Its not bad. Don't expect any Hollywood acting (budget wouldn't allow it) but overall it is a half decent film. I enjoyed it despite what the reviews say. 8/10.
Skyline (2010)
Good film
To tell the truth I quite enjoyed this film. The effects were good and had a good story too it. The ending is not what you expect at all I suppose that what makes it different to all the other Sci fi films. I give it an 8..forget the haters this a solid 8 in my book..
Cool Hand Luke (1967)
Brilliant..
I have seen this film several times and never tire of it. It is in my eyes one of the coolest films ever made. Every character stands out from no eyes to luke himself.. Love this film 10 outta 10.
Beasts of No Nation (2015)
Oscar material..
How this film did not get an Oscar is beyond me. This is how films should be made.
Night of the Big Heat (1967)
Classic Sci fi.
First saw this in early seventies and still love it. OK the effects aren't the best glowing jelly for aliens but hey British budget's weren't the best in those days. The two horror heavyweights are here though (that's where the budget went) Peter crushing and Christopher Lee also Patrick Allen overall I love these films brings me back to my childhood.. a perfect ten.
Red Tails (2012)
Far fetched
I was looking forward to watching this but was dissapointed. The computer graphics are very basic I would have thought George lucas behind it he should have spent more money. Also 4 fighters destroying 60+planes on the ground? Also they never seem to run out of bullets.. Poor film. Unrealistic.
Act of Valor (2012)
Awesome..
Watched this film last year. As far as the action goes its great. Some unbelievable moments in the film which I won't go into but overall I really enjoyed it. Definetly worth a watch.
Hong hai xing dong (2018)
Wow..
I bought this in the bargain bucket at my local supermarket. I'm a big fan of Asian cinema and this didn't dissapoint. The action is relentless tottaly enjoyed this film and look forward to more of it. Best £3 I ever spent..
Star Trek (1966)
Love star trek.
The best programme on telly in the 70's love this programme even now. Best birthday present I got was the box set. (that's why I love my wife she got me the perfect present).
La nuit a dévoré le monde (2018)
Rather dissapointing
This is a so so film a bit like Robinson crusoe but the ending was disappointing. Also the zombie in the lift after six months you would have thought he would have decomposed? A few too many plot holes that I won't go into..
Lo imposible (2012)
Great film.
Picked this up at the supermarket best £3 I ever spent kept me glued to the seat. The boy in it is gonna go far he a fantastic actor for his age. A must see film..
