Baipan Bhari Deva (2023)
A family entertainer which celebrates womanhood and sisterhood
This movie is a breath of fresh air from all the same old stereotypes. The perfect casting adds flavour to the movie. It's a perfect movie which celebrates womanhood and sisterhood without demeaning anyone. The supporting cast and played their part very well. Marathi movies are a class apart from Bollywood due to the subtlety and nuances in the acting performance. The movie has connected so well with audiences that nearly all shows are housefull in prime metro cities.
Kudos to the director, cast and the entire team of "baipan Bhari deva". I feel they should showcase this on an international platform with subtitles as well as dubbed versions.
Mumbai Diaries (2021)
Pathetic plot trying to make a balanced narrative.
Plot full of cliches where a 2 hour story line is stretched into 8 episode series. Hilarious part is in the midst of a terror attack they gave a emotional twist to save some 70yr old Beeji(grandma). There's religious bigotry, caste discrimination and actresses with makeup running around in a terror attack (actually seen with mascara blush and lipstick with fake mud plastered) in the midst of a full blown terror attack.
Not to mention the huge fake narrative of policemen being incompetent really put me off.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020)
Storyline spoiled by Bollywood
Typical young girl trying to break the glass ceiling story where the entire system is against her. The story would have been something had they shown the kargil scenes beyond 10 mins in the movie. As usual the rubber duck faced actress adds more humiliation to the potrayal. Bollywood should only stick to slapstick comedies.. autobiographies is not their forte.. First shakuntala Devi.. now this.. pathetic.
