A fun entertainer
8 February 2009
This movie is a typical teenage comic-love caper. The cast is young and fresh, and the movie is set in a high school.

The comic sequences are the highlight of this movie, especially the sequences involving "Brahmanandam". If you are looking for 2-1/2hrs of light-hearted entertainment, then you are in for a treat.

The story revolves revolves around the theme of attraction and love, and how two teenagers try to understand and cope with their first love. Due to the resistance from the family, they decide to elope. But, last minute emergencies, put a spanner in their plans.

The music is very hummable, and the comedy sequences are hilarious, leaving you rolling on the floor through out the first half.

Very Touching, a Little Gem
5 October 2006
It is the story of two naughty kids who are orphaned in an accident and are forced to live with their new guardian, the strict disciplinarian and army man - their grandfather. They have never seen him before due to differences between their parents and the grandpa. They get to have a first hand experience of the reason for these differences.

While the plot is sad and very sympathy evoking, the movie itself is very light hearted to a large extent, and is a continuous laugh riot. The children's performances are especially noteworthy.

How the gandpa and the children eventually warm up to each other, and the various troubles that the cook and other family members go through trying to raise the children make for a very interesting and fun viewing.

The soundtrack of the movie is decent and more in the funny, talking mode unlike the norm.

Inspiration for 'Liar Liar' ??
30 May 2006
This movie released much before 'liar liar', and follows a similar story line. Of course, without Jim Carrey's extreme antics or the magical element.

Instead it has Rajendra Prasad's exquisite brand of clever humor. An inherent trickster (rajendra Prasad), falls in love with a new girl in town. The girl, much aware of his reputation for lying at the drop of a hat, lays down a condition that he should not tell a single lie for one full month for her to accept his proposal. He shall get his release on the 1st of April (title of movie).

How this leads to a slew of comic scenarios and takes him from one trouble to the next forms the basis of the movie. One of the most popular humorous movies of its times, this movie is a quintessential Rajendra Prasad movie. Probably one of his 5 best comedies.

Entertaining Road Comedy
30 March 2006
This is an out-and-out entertainer. It involves the comic travails of a couple eloping and on the run from their parents. They get entangled in a police and political-goons hunt for an incriminating tape.

The movie is a sequence of comic road chases and the songs are very hummable. The Comic relief of "Brahmanandam" is especially commendable. This was the first movie in which he had used the silent expressive style of comedy (especially in the later part of the movie), to great effect. Acting by J.D.Chakravarthy and Urmila is good, and Kota Sreenivasa Rao also excels.

This movie is one of the initial products of "Ram Gopal Varma", the stalwart experimental director of Hindi Cinema, and a lot of sequences from his later film "Daud" were inspired from this film along with his other Telugu film "Kshana Kshanam".
