Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Old Friends Not Forgotten (2020)
What a way to build suspense
It wasn't just Anakin seeing Ashoka again and adding emotion to their interactions. It wasn't the interactions between Ashoka and Rex that made me smile that sold it. It wasn't even seeing Maul and Ashoka face-to-face. It was the fact that this directly ties into Revenge of the Sith. This means that we're gonna see Order 66 again. THAT'S something I can't wait to see. That's what sold this episode for me.
Can't wait for Part II
Star Wars Rebels (2014)
Star Wars, but for kids
I'm not saying this is a bad show. I'm just saying that it was made incorrectly. There are a ton of good aspects of it. Any Jedi plot was intriguing. Ashoka and Vader fighting was the best scene in the whole show. Obi-Wan versus Maul was epic too. But a lot of the show is totally inconsistent with the feel of Star Wars. I have never seen someone actually die on screen, except for Stormtroopers. I would talk more, but the Cosmonaut Variety Hour made an excellent video about it on YouTube. Go watch that.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Why are people saying this is a good movie? It's not a good movie
I used to like The Phantom Menace. But that was before I realized that this movie is pure trash. Sure, there are some redeeming qualities and aspects. For example, the music is fantastic. The CGI is really good; the problem is that it's overused. The Podracing scene was cool and the final battle was choreographed amazingly.
But that's it
This story has such a confusing plot. I can't even remember what it is because it's so confusing. It's also so BORING. A New Hope? Rescuing a princess from a space station. Empire Strikes Back? Training with Yoda and escaping the bad guys. Return of the Jedi? Taking down the Empire. But this movie? Settling a trade dispute that went horribly wrong. Snore
Not only that, but the characters are awful. Jar Jar Binks is the ONLY character with actual emotion and character traits, but he is so annoying to listen to. Everyone else has no emotions. They never talk about how they feel. Many of them get treated like garbage. Obi-Wan, for example. He gets, like, NO screen time! And Darth Maul! He was a badass, but had less than five lines and hardly any screen time as well. Then he gets yeeted into a bottomless pit like some schmuck. The Clone Wars TV show redeems him, but that doesn't fix this movie.
All in all, this is a disaster of a film. Viewing guides recommend that you skip this movie entirely when doing a Star Wars marathon because it's bad and doesn't hold any stakes in the plot. That's just sad
Please don't defend this movie. It's a bad movie.
Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu (2011)
It should've have gone on for so long
LEGO Ninjago is a series that I grew up with. It was cheesy and had poor jokes, but I didn't care because I was a kid. Now I'm older, and I keep asking myself, "Why are there ten seasons for such a simple yet entertaining show?" So I rewatched some of the episodes and found that the series was much better when it stuck with its original story and only continued its story to tie up loose ends. My favorite season has got to be Season Two. My least favorite is Season Six. All in all, this is a classic show. Definitely recommend it for the kids. A fun show that will at least keep you entertained
Descendants 3 (2019)
It's Good To Be Bad
This movie series isn't the best. But the way it ended made it so good. The ending was touching, the acting was solid for my taste, Cheyenne Jackson was a great Hades, it was nice to have Audrey back, and the tribute to Cameron Boyce was the best. The songs were the best of all three movies. This will be forever in my mind
The Hunger Games (2012)
The books are better
Everyone here is yapping about how this is a rip-off of some Japanese movie called Battle Royale. Is no one judging this movie based on just its connection to the book and it's performance? Because if you do, it's really good.
Suzanne Collins knew what she was doing when she wrote these books. You can feel the pain, relentless onslaught of grief, and choice throughout the book. I always could never put the book down. But when this was made into a movie, I was a bit suspicious. The story is meant to be in book form. But on closer inspection, I saw that this is a really good movie.
I'm satisfied with the pacing. It's made clear that our main characters are going to be the focus of the movie. We see Katniss' choice to volunteer to be tribute in order to protect her sister. We see her pain as she's sent to her inevitable doom. We see her anger with Haymitch and her troubles with Peeta (their ship name is PeeNiss). Plus, the characters are believable. Jennifer Lawrence is the best Katniss I could honestly ask for. You definitely see her trying her hardest to be a fierce, bold, daring girl that just wants to survive, which is more evident in later films. The big moment of the games beginning doesn't fail to deliver. It may not be the most entertaining, but as I said, the books are better. We can watch as Katniss struggles to survive with nothing but a backpack, some supplies, and her wits. We watch as Peeta makes the choice to save Katniss from death while taking a painful wound. We see Katniss forming a relationship with Rue and how Katniss sees her sister in Rue, which makes her death more meaningful. We watch as Katniss finds compassion to take care of Peeta. We watch as she embraces love and shows her feeings for Peeta. We get to see how human the tributes are, watching as Foxface does whatever she can to stay away, watching as Clove taunts Katniss for the cameras, watch as Thresh attacks Clove for being responsible for killing Rue, watching as Thresh let's Katniss live because of her acts of kindness to Rue, which makes the audience more emotional. The climax of the movie doesn't disappoint, either. The mutts are monsters, forcing the final three to battle for victory. We can see Cato trying his hardest to win. And finally, we see Katniss' will to live and keep her promise by standing up to the Capitol. Soon, the movie ends
All in all, it helps a lot if you read the books first before watching this movie. The books help you understand what Collins is trying to make you feel. Give this movie a chance instead of calling The Hunger Games, a concept that was creatively made by Suzanne Collins to show elements of survivial, pain, and choice, to some old Japanese movie about Battle Royale, a concept that which you can find in one of the most popular video games of this age: Fortnite.
May the odds be ever in your favor
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
A Beautiful Masterpeice
When I was in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade, I read the books before watching the corresponding movie. I loved the movies. Even now I love this movie as well as all the others.
This movie captures the book adaptation very well. You can feel a tone of magic and mystery as the story advances. The actors really portray who Rowling created. Hermione is a loyal and stuck-up student. Ron is a dumb and loyal friend. Harry is a boy who was born into fame and doesn't have a clue about what's going on.
I could go on but other people have the time and memory to write better reviews. This movie is excellent.
