Love, Simon (2018)
Grade: B
Love, Simon isn't a top-notch film, but with great acting, funny humor, and emotional weight, it is a film that many people will enjoy.
Call Me by Your Name (2017)
Grade: A-
While it may have had pacing issues, the direction, soundtrack, story, and acting make Call Me By Your Name a marvelous film to be emotional to.
Peter Rabbit (2018)
Grade: B
Peter Rabbit has stunning CGI and is very entertaining, especially with how one can notice all the innuendos in this film. But some jokes are repeated a lot and can be unfunny.
The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018)
Grade: C
As someone who is not a big fan of the first film, Prey at Night still has issues with being very cliched. That said, the suspense in the movie was good though.
The Hurricane Heist (2018)
Grade: C-
The Hurricane Heist is a guilty pleasure. It's got a weak script with many cliches and lack of character development with some bad special effects. However. it's entertaining to watch.
Game Night (2018)
Grade: A
Game Night is one of the funniest films I have seen in a long time. It has a great ensemble cast, story, humor, and twist. A comedy worth seeing this current age!
The 15:17 to Paris (2018)
Grade: D+
As a film that stars the real heroes, the 15: 17 to Paris is a disappointment. These guys can't act, nor can the kids who portray them. The directing is awful as well.
Red Sparrow (2018)
Grade: B
Red Sparrow feels more like a porno than an actual film, and there is no chemistry between Jennifer Lawrence and Joel Edgerton, but praise does go to the spy thriller aspect of it, and to J-Law's acting.
Annihilation (2018)
Grade: A
Annihilation is a visually beautiful Sci-Fi film with a fantastic story that will shock and entertain a lot. Natalie Portman also does a tremendous job here as an actress.
Black Panther (2018)
Grade: B+
Director Ryan Coogler leads an ensemble cast in a very ambiguous film with a fantastic soundtrack, characters, and well-choreographed action. The CGI seems unfinished, however.
Batman: Gotham by Gaslight (2018)
Grade: B
Batman: Gotham By Gaslight does have a fascinating take on the Dark Knight fighting Jack the Ripper, but the animation comes off as cheap at times.
The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)
Grade: B-
The Cloverfield Paradox is the weakest addition to the franchise as it has a soft script, but praise does go to the horror/weirdness aspect of it.
Hostiles (2017)
Grade: A-
Hostiles might have some questionable scenes, but it also has stand out performances from Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike.
12 Strong (2018)
Grade: B+
12 Strong might have little substance, but it pays respect to those who have served after the 9/11 attacks and has some exciting character moments.
Den of Thieves (2018)
Grade: B-
Den of Thieves can be at times cliched and even have a bunch of plot holes, but it is also one of Gerard Butler's better films and has some great action scenes.
The Commuter (2018)
Grade: B
The Commuter is a well-choreographed action/psychological film that leaves you at the edge of your seat, even if it is at times cliched and has little substance to it.
Paddington 2 (2017)
Grade: A
Paddington 2 is a fantastic film with an adorable character, a tremendous cast, and a happy story. It is a film the entire family will enjoy.
The Post (2017)
Grade: B+
Director Steven Spielberg and actors Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep stand out in this intense, and politically relatable film. But how long will this film last as relatable?
Molly's Game (2017)
Grade: A
Great acting from Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, and Kevin Costner with dramatic writing from Aaron Sorkin makes Molly's Game a one-of-a-kind film.
Insidious: The Last Key (2018)
Grade: B
Insidious: The Last Key might be another cash-cow horror film, but it goes back to its original roots, making it an excellent addition to the franchise.
