Justified: City Primeval (2023)
Wanted to Love It
I was so excited when I heard they were doing this show. I love the original Justified. But this is just bad.
I hate to pile on the negative remarks for a young actress but they did her a huge disservice casting his real life daughter in the show. She apparently studied acting but yet, seems in over her head. No doubt it's intimidating to have such a big role her first time out. I don't know if that is her real voice but if not, it was a terrible choice (maybe she's trying to sound younger than her 20 years?). I hope all of the negative reviews don't ruin her dreams and that she can study hard and be cast in roles that make more sense.
Although the daughter is the most annoying character, the villain is a very close second. I miss the humor and even humanity that "Boyd" had in the original series. The complex characters just jumped off the page. They are flat here.
I'm a big TO fan but I'm out. I tried but just can't get through the 3rd episode.
Jury Duty: Foreperson (2023)
This is 100%...
...one of the funniest episodes of any TV series that I've seen in a long time. I love the whole series so far but this episode, I laughed out loud several times and nearly peed myself (not proud).
When that woman is testifying? I was laughing so hard that I had to rewind three times.
The actors are all amazing. And the poor guy who doesn't know. Lol He's so nice, you really feel bad for him. He's the most perfect guy they could have chosen.
If you haven't checking this series out yet, just watch the trailer!
Can't wait to watch the 5th episode next week. I think this one may just be one of those sleeper hits like Ted Lasso.
The Man in the High Castle: Fire from the Gods (2019)
I actually got it
It's strange to read all of the horrible reviews here because I saw the ending so differently! It involves John's friend (sorry forget his name) who fought with him during WWII. He takes command at the end and stops the attack on the Western States. He was the same one who tried to talk John out of going to Berlin in the 9th episode and instead implored him to start a revived United States separate from the Nazis. I think, because he stopped that attack, that the people coming through the portal at the end were RETURNING. That's why they appeared (as others wrote) as if they were going to Disneyland, all happy. They came back with the hope that the home they fled was on its way to being restored. Hence, them coming back in droves. They had been waiting.
