Silo (2023)
Great, almost great
Just finished episode 1. It's really well done. The story, the world, the suspense.
This is not much of a spoiler... there is just one scene between her and a hardware guy where the acting is so hammy that it just threw me against the edges, and I had to convince myself to stay. I find it incredible that a show that is putting this much effort in has the director, then the editor, allow something this sloppy into the production.
Overall I don't see the edges, I can sit in the story without bumping into bad acting, terrible directing or just - how does this happen so often?! - a bad script. I'm hopeful for the rest of the series.
Ok so this is meta, but I've decided to stay as the rest of it is pretty convincing.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Rubbish algorithmic Netflix junk
Honestly, just rubbish. Felt like a series of disconnected scenes, interspersed with overly emotive flashbacks that try to make you somehow care about the characters in the film. I cared nothing, not one bit. And like a chump I sat there and watched this drivel.
Tiger King (2020)
Insane. Don't watch the "last episode"
Really worth watching, just jaw dropping. The "last episode" is not part of the documentary, it's a cheap follow up "where are they now" with tongue-in-cheek questions that are overly scripted and a set up for people to just throw punches in a merry ol way. Seriously, don't watch that part, it's rubbish. The rest is really good, confronting, shocking, hilarious in parts and interesting on many levels.

Trashy make believe
I came here because of the Haunting of Hill House - which I loved - but this film is flimsy in comparison.
