Thousand Plane Raid (2023)
Amazing what you can accomplish with a $20 budget
I found this film to be amazing.
The two guys talking at length, brought tears to my eyes.
Tears of BOREDOM!!!
I was amazed that it was made at all, let alone shown on Prime. Acting was as cardboard as the cue cards.
The film made forty years earlier is a much better option. Unless of course you are suffering from insomnia.
In fact, watching 'Ishtar' or 'the Attack of the Killer Tomatoesk would be a better alternative.
Watching paint dry, or grass grow would have faster moving action. Or watching a Chevy Vega rust. Even Bowling for $, or any Pro-Am Golf match.
Less than 5 minutes in, she was sound asleep!
I guess what I am trying to get across is the film is bad.
My Golden Retrier loves watching TV, and the subject matter is not important. She is fascinated, glued to the set.
Without Remorse (2021)
Wait, what?
So I was confused on watching this???
If a movie is named "Tom Clancy's Without Remorse" should it at least have a slight resemblance to the novel?
I'm sure Producers, Directors, Screnwriters, Actors etc., were paid well. Could it have at least have been suggested that
ANY of them read the book?
Three things, aside from the title, in common with the book:
1 John
2: Kelly
3: Clark
The actual novel, " Without Remorse" was a departure from his earlier novels. The characterization and plot development was such, that you are lured into feeling an attachment to the characters. You feel the raw emotion, the desire for vengeance, the RAGE that protagonist experiences. Even then, you are shocked by the brutality that ensues.
After that novel, for better or worse you know, really KNOW, who John Clark is, when he shows up in later novels.
Too bad they did not make a movie about that Character/Novel.
Unearth (2020)
To bad they ran out of money and ideas before they filmed an ending...
In spite of some reviews, I thought the acting and character development was ok. I assumed it was just a slow burn, building to a dramatic climax. Then I paused, and saw how little time was left, and I knew the film was in trouble.
Horror? More like horrible. A bunch of bad stuff and loosely connected scenes. More inexplicable than any ending I have seen before.
I had high hopes early on. In the end, well .... It just sort of ended. Possibly the most disappointing let down I have gotten
In a long time.
My advice? If you are seriously thinking about watching this, watch Ishtar instead.
