Dreamcatcher (2003)
Fun horror movie
Can't believe this movie has such a low rating. It's funny, scary, gross, and lovable all at the same time. It has an interesting and creative story, and very likable characters. Morgan Freeman's eyebrows, come on man, they're awesome. The guys are good looking and actually care about each other and care about doing the right thing. They have their little quirks and oddities but who doesn't if we're being honest. I like the flashbacks and how they tie in to the story. I've seen other horror movies that are totally predictable, have zero plot, terrible acting, and yet they are rated higher than this one. I guess people just want the usual garbage.
Rock the Block (2019)
Waste is appalling
I really like this show except for the waste. I cringe every time I see them rip out and destroy brand new materials and fixtures. I think about all this stuff going into landfills - we already have too much garbage. Does HGTV care about the environment? Do they calculate the cost of all those materials and fixtures? Do they consider how those construction materials could have been used to help the poor? It really is a shame and it's so blatant, I'm kind of surprised it's not discussed or somehow addressed on the show. From reading the other reviews and discussions elsewhere online, it appears that a lot of people are disgusted by the waste. And Allison sucks.
Hellraiser (1987)
Cult Classic?
This is quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. The story and characters were ridiculous. The script was lame and boring. The acting was terrible and made me cringe (much more than any of the "scary" scenes). The special effects were pitiful.
I expect horror movies to be somewhat cheesy but this one was barely watchable. Maybe if they had added some humor the movie might have been more tolerable. I really don't know how such a low budget, unsophisticated film managed to get made at all and I certainly don't understand the high ratings. It's like the movie was created by 7th graders in their basement and then all their middle school buddies rated it like it was the most awesome thing they ever saw. I wish that were the case, I'd be a lot more forgiving.
Antebellum (2020)
Original and provoking
Wow. First, I'm disgusted at some of the comments attempting to justify the low ratings by people who were not "entertained" or whatever. I thought this was a very creative and poignant way to tell a disturbing story that's hard to hear and talk about. While there were some parts I didn't like, I can certainly appreciate totality of the message. If this movie makes you feel resentful or "cheated" then you have completely missed the point and should just get back to you kkk meeting.
Kimi (2022)
Terrible movie, great apartment
This movie is slow, boring, and cliché. The story is ridiculous, and the casting was poor. The only great thing about this movie is the loft apartment.
Peaky Blinders (2013)
Same story over and over
It seems to me that they keep telling the same story each season. It's a bit cliché and very predictable for the most part. The most disappointing thing is that the characters don't seem to learn from past errors or use common sense.
The Ice Road (2021)
I like Gurty
Other than Gurty, the movie was pretty lame. It's a weird movie, bad script, terrible special effects. Who approves this stuff?
Torden (2020)
I loved it
I've already watched it twice - it's touching and beautiful, and unexpected. The only thing I think it needed was a little bit more back story on how and why he was there to begin with.
Message Man (2018)
I don't know why I like this movie but I do
Yes, it's a B-movie but I really liked it. The scenery is beautiful and I like a "hero" who doesn't talk a lot, Lol. Some of the scenes with the "bad guys" were pretty ridiculous and corny but other than that I enjoyed this movie.
The Guest (2014)
Love Dan Stevens
Fun to watch - Dan Stevens is awesome - he played the part perfectly. Great movie if you're not too concerned about taking it too seriously.
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
John Goodman is too creepy
I liked this movie - but man, Goodman almost did too good a job - he was SO CREEPY!
Sidney Hall (2017)
Crying
Nothing like what I expected. I don't really care for Elle Fanning, but the movie was so good I was able to overlook how annoying she is.
Wow - it was well done, and touched on many emotions. It kept my interest throughout the entire movie. There were funny, heartbreaking, and angry moments.
If you are a thoughtful human being, you will enjoy this movie.
Arsenal (2017)
Cage and Cusak look ridiculous
What's with the stupid wigs and costumes, Cage looks and acts like a cartoon character.
It could have been a decent action movie.
The Last Boy (2019)
Pretty lame
I wanted to like this movie, but it just kept getting dumber and dumber. Bad acting, very monotone, ridiculous story, and just no creativity.
Les Misérables (2012)
A bit too long
Even though I don't like musicals, I love this story and was able to tolerate all the singing - I just think it was dragged out a little too much.
Unstoppable (2010)
Great suspenseful movie!
I loved it, was on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was great to see "action" heroes who are just regular guys with families, trying to do the right thing.
Hunter Killer (2018)
Good Movie
I liked this movie, it reminded me of Hunt for Red October, one of my favorites. The only thing that bothered me was towards the ending, I wish they would have retrieved the bodies of the fallen Seal team members.
Mile 22 (2018)
Too. Much. Talking.
Hard to follow the story because Mark Wahlberg's character won't shut up.
Roma (2018)
It's an experience, not a typical movie
I had to put aside my expectation of a beginning, a middle, and an end. There was no "climax" to the story, which was very disappointing to many people. It was an experience, and the more I watched, the more I felt like I was there. It was artistic and emotional and just different. I'm glad I watched this movie, it was thought provoking.
Goodland (2017)
One of the worst I've ever seen
The acting was bad, the writing was bad - I don't know how this could have actually made it to production.
