Dream Round (2020)
THIS FILM CHANGED MY LIFE
Is dream round the worst movie ever made? No. Is dream round the best movie ever made? Yes. Every creative choice in this film was perfection. The direction of this film is some of the best I've ever seen. The idea to take the cameraman and have him slowly walk around the actors in a circle while they're moving and not stabilize the camera is a genius creative decision reminiscent of Martin Scorsese. The sudden change in cameras between shots adds the already mesmerizing cinematography of this film. Furthermore, the lack of camera focus in shots makes the audience reevaluate what they thought they knew about film. The idea to reuse the same shot within a five minute span of time keeps the audience engaged in this touching, heartfelt story. The acting. The actors in this film are extremely talented. The way Michael Saquella performs the floss dance is a beautiful, touching moment that resonates with audiences. The chemistry between Joe Bona and Jennifer is palpable, and it is the best on screen romance since "The Notebook". Moreover, the fact that the audio is often not timed up with the mouth movement of the actors is a perfect stylistic choice and commentary on the instability of human nature. In conclusion, GO SEE THIS FILM. It is an experience you will never forget.
The Meg (2018)
Exhilarating and entertaining
The meg is an exteremely enjoyable movie filled with action and suspense. Jason Statham is a great action star and has some incredible scenes. Rainn Wilson is hilarious and adds comic relief to the film. The CGI on the meg itself is great and looks intimidating. The shots of the meg eating people and other sea creatures look outstanding. Overall, it is an enjoyable summer movie.
Legends of Tomorrow: The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly (2018)
Probably the best Legends episode
The s 3 finale is so fun, hilarious, and epic. It brings back many of the guest stars used throughout the season and gives a fitting end to two characters who thrived in s 3. Mallus looks incredible and is a formidable threat for the legends to face. The fight scenes are awesome and hilarious, and the storyline is also intriguing. The ending of the episode also teases even bigger and crazier things for s 4.
Arrow (2012)
A great superhero tv show
Arrow is, overall, my favorite superhero tv show. Stephen Amell is great as Oliver Queen and very intimidating as the arrow. The quality of arrow varies by season, but it is always entertaining.
S 1- Dark, gritty and self contained. The fight scenes of s 1 are still some of the best in the series, and it brilliantly introduces all the characters. Malcolm Merlyn is a great villain and has an interesting backstory and motivations.
S 2- Improves on everything great about s1 and introduces great new characters like Sara Lance, Nysaa al Ghul, Barry Allen, and Lyla Michaels. Sara is the best version of Black Canary on arrow and has a ton of awesome fight scenes. Introducing Barry before he became the flash was brilliant and a perfect setup for the flash spin off show. Deathstroke was an incredible villain because of his powers and connection to Oliver's origin and time on the island.
S 3- Much worse than season one and two, but was still enjoyable. Ray Palmer was a great character to introduce and was very entertaining. Ras al ghul was an ok villain because he had no connection to Oliver. Season three is also when Arsenal is at his best of the series.
S 4- By far the worst season of arrow. Damian Dahrk was a decent villain, but he would have been better on a different show. The season finale is boring and terrible. This is the worst version of Oliver because he is very weak in this season.
S 5- The best season with the perfect villain. Oliver was a much better fighter this season and has some of the most emotional scenes of the series in this season. Prometheus is the best arrow villain because of his planning and how he is able to break Oliver down mentally. The season finale is by far the best episode of arrow ever.
Uncle Drew (2018)
Better than Expected
By all indications, this should have been a terrible movie. I mean it's a full length movie based on a 3 minute Pepsi ad. However, it actually kind of works. It was much funnier than I though it'd be. The NBA players are decent enough actors to get through the movie. It has some absolutely hilarious moments as well.
