Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
If three people told you what they saw, you'd think they were talking about different movies
You aren't going to see anything resembling what you see here. I have seen it once, and when I choose to see it again (and I will) I am sure to see things with a new perspective.
The Sci-Fi is the hook, but the story or more specifically stories develop at different yet compelling paces. I was 20 minutes into the drive home before I began to recognize how it all comes together.
Nude Bowling Party (1995)
Among all bowling movies...
This is behind only The Big Lebowski and Kingpin. No 7-10 split ever looked better. Set aside your general tastes and indulge yourself with the skilled athletes as they compete ball after ball, gutters included!
Dead Man (1995)
Spellbindingly difficult and inescapably unentertaining
Only the soundtrack is redeemable. I am an actual film major, and have appreciation for.. nay an admiration of quirky, insightful and creative film making. This director's work is admirable, but this project leaves much room for improvement. It has nowhere to go but up, it certainly goes nowhere as it is.
I am completely confounded by the near universal praise for this film. As I watched, I asked again and again "is this all there is, is there nothing more?"
My wife and I both were filled with intense rage at the incomprehensible plot and the sleepy pace with which it advanced (if you could call it advancing). This film is now the base benchmark for unwatchable films. A "Two Dead Man score" indicates avoid and move on with your life, a "One Dead Man" means illness inducing experiences await.
Do yourselves a favor, Hard Pass.
