McGregor Forever (2023)
Didn't get past episode 1
As a huge Mcgregor fan during his early run, I found him to be humble, charismatic, clever, hilarious, and with deep intellectual thought.
The Mayweather/Khabib lead ups seemed different to me. It was inauthentic, mean, and shallow.
Wish this series highlighted the Mcgregor we used to love (pre-Mayweather), rather than the changed man.
He achieved generational wealth and has set up his family for life, congratulations to the man. But I'm not a fan of this new person.
Lastly, episode 1 could have shown a lot more of of the religion, family, and personal attacks that Conor never went too in his prime. This seemed a bit watered down.
Sherlock (2010)
Giving it a 10 but....
Didn't love the last season. The first three are outstanding. Just feel there was a quality drop in season 4
Dunkirk (2017)
Decent movie for anyone not named a Chris Nolan
When I hear a new Chris Nolan movie is coming out - I rally the troops. I never go to a theater when it's packed or opening weekend, but for Chris Nolan I do.
The movie was ok. It's either my expectations were way too high, or, this was one of the poorer Nolan films. Lacked character connection and storytelling IMO.
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Left so much on the table
Visually stunning. Firstly, I wish more background on the world was given. So many questions throughout the beginning to the end. Secondly, I also would have preferred slower, realistic, and more meaningful character development. I'll watch the sequel.
Mission: Impossible (1996)
Really an 8 but want to avg it out
One major plot twist - not 3000 like the new ones. I enjoyed this movie a lot.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
It's much better than a 7.2
I'm going 10 because I don't understand the vitriol that this movie caused. I think it's more an 8-8.5. One of the better Star Wars. I preferred it over eps 1-3 and the force awakens.
Gotham (2014)
So far...so good
It's not up there with the best of all time, but very entertaining. Midway through season 1. Will update when I catch up.
Leave No Trace (2018)
Disappointed
At some point you can't keep the audience in the dark for the entire movie. While most movies have a beginning, middle, and end, it seemed this had a beginning, beginning and beginning. It just never really picked up.
I'm shocked IMDB and rotten tomatoes had such a positive rating on this.
I appreciated the cinematography and acting, but towards the end i was hoping for the movie to finally end.
