Black Panther (2018)
Kinda suprised
It should be said that all characters have been exquisitely cast. Chadwick remains a very strong Black Panther and the secondary characters are brought to live admirably. Especially Danai Gurira as Okoye and Letitia Wright, as his brilliant younger sister, shine in their parts.
The music is also really good, which gives you an extra reason to linger during the credits while you wait for the usual fun bonus.
Ludwig Goransson deserves all the praise because the orchestral music that blares during the exciting moments is also filled with African instruments.
A very nice look at a superhero world in which African cultures are honoured. A good story about a prince who has to take on the role of a king and the change in the political climate. This movie differs from other MCU movies and it is close to "CA:winter soldier",quality wise
Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001)
Simply amazing
Everything in this film is done so perfectly and meticulously; from the casting, to the camera movements, to the colors, to the script, to the lighting. It'd be nearly impossible to find a single flaw in this film. I am in complete awe. This is the type of movie that I'd one day like to make. Unfortunately for some film-lovers, they can't get past it being in subtitles. Watch it twice if you need (once to read it, twice to watch it), but this movie could change your outlook on life. Highly recommended for any adult. You should own this.
Dunkirk (2017)
Big C.Nolan fan here
This is Christopher Nolan's masterpiece, and the best movie of 2017 that I've seen so far. This is not your typical war movie. Typical war movies are about character growth through hardship. Dunkirk has very little dialogue and is not about character growth (in fact, I don't remember hearing some of the characters' names in the movie) because Nolan immerses the audience into the experience of the Dunkirk evacuation, which was hurried and intense and thus likely allowed very little for conversations among the soldiers. This lack of focus on character growth in the movie is what makes Dunkirk unique and it opens up avenues for other thematic explorations, such as themes surrounding national unity. Like any Christopher Nolan film, the cast and the score by Hans Zimmer are spectacular. I'm not sure Dunkirk is the best war film ever made, but it's sure damn great and unique. I hope to see Dunkirk join the likes of other war movies such as The Deer Hunter, Patton, and Platoon at the Academy Awards! If not, it'll definitely be in the class of Doctor Zhivago, Apocalypse Now, and Saving Private Ryan. I'll be buying the DVD as well as the soundtrack-take all my money (okay, maybe not all of it)!
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Jokes weren't misplaced
I know some people are worried about the humour on this movie. But they used it excellently in this flick. This movie to me,is at least on the same level with Guardians of the Galaxy 1.I mean both guardians and Thor 3 made me laugh but never felt cringe or sensed any forced jokes. There were also very intense and emotional moments in this Thor movie. The fight sequences were so damn epic. When it comes to action, this movie is close to Lord of the Rings 2.They did a good job on reflecting the epicness of the Ragnarok event. The last trailer of the movie got my attention. And I made one of the best decisions of my life by watching it.
Hela,Valkyrie,Hulk,Thor,Loki,Grandmaster they all did pretty good job.Especially Hela. She was so gorgeous and menacing at the same time. Tessa Thompson kinda surprised me with her great performance btw.
