The Couple Next Door (2023)
Annoying to watch
Am I the only one thinking this distortion effect is utterly crap? I get it might set the characters in focus, but why not the whole character and not just the torso? Legs and shoes are distorted even if the entire person is in the frame with the same distance. Upper or lower part of the picture is more blurry than the rest. It looks as if they edited distance in the picture in the editing process after by placing this effect. I've seen Netdlix series do the same thing witg slighly more luck. But why bother. You are ruining the picture!
Anyways... The show started of good and looked like it was going somewhere, but went down hill after a few episodes.
It's an OK time killer.
Salvation (2017)
So and so
Fun concept, but that's it. I liked season 1, but two episodes into season 2 I can't stand it any longer. It's exciting enough, but the script and screenplay is disappointing. I don't buy it for a second. I felt like they made a series, just to make a series. Nothing special about it.
The 100 (2014)
It's OK, nothing more.
The acting is bad to decent. The plot is what makes this watchable, at least to season 6,then it got maybe too farfetched.
I agree with several of the other reviews here - the writing is bad. Too often they make drama, too much drama, out of nothing, and with bad timing. The characters are filled with situations where they state the obvious with unnatural and too detailed explanations. Do the writers make the characters stupid, or do they think I am?
This serie is fair when you are out of other options.
See (2019)
Failing to convince me
I am struggling big time seeing (pun intended) past the awful blind acting. The actors too often fix their gaze on something. The characters wear accessories and decorative scars and ear rings. And they always hit their opponents when fighting or hitting. This series should be a lot more clumsy, but I can understand it's a balance between what's plausible and what's good visual TV. Could be more convincing.
iHuman (2019)
Good insight
I will only add to many of these good reviews.
I really miss an interview of Elon Musk. A man highly sceptical about AI.
The special effects in between interviews got way too much attention. Cool and well made, but totally not interesting.
I got way more enlightened regarding AI and it's consequences. Since there are so many companies developing and doing research on AI, all a little man like me can do to affect this development is... nothing! I am now more nervous about AI, consequences and ethics here than tampering with genes on sapiens.
The Shannara Chronicles (2016)
See this if your watch list is empty.
Thrilling story, cool costumes and scenery. Though very superficial. Kind a like Lord of the rings light.
Bad script, worse acting. Manu is the only one that partly delivers.
For the future: less Hollywood, more realism.
