65 (2023)
I heard it was bad ...
But i made a mistake like many others, I went to watch it anyway. Normally I hesitate to hate a movie after I decided to spend time on. But boy, this movie is so outrageously unnecessary to add itself to a litany of dinosaur films. Okay, okay, humongous beasts, meteorites strikes, father-daughter bond, home sweet home, interstellar disaster, can you even come out a little more than these? Why the heck did you pick a title like 65 but it basically has nothing (or irrelevant) to do with the earth the title suggested? I can't believe they put so much effort to make this crap. It is more like a B movie with a bloated budget.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Dear god
Two idiots ruined it all! How could someone let this happen?
Mon seung (2006)
Horrifyingly beautiful!
This is a masterpiece from the Peng Brothers.
I will not categorize it into horror genre. I'm totally mesmerized! I mean totally! Charlene Choi's acting is impeccable! I just couldn't believe my eyes that this young actress could deliver us such a sophisticated and troubled psycho!
It is said that people kill because they fear. When people get hurt, they torture. They torture others, and themselves, piece by piece, until they can't tell themselves from others!
Look at those horror movies now playing in theaters like the gory Saw 3, you will understand how pathetic it is for the Hollywood. For a very long time rarely has Hollywood any original idea to produce an real horror movie. Cutting open eyeball things and soaking in blood are all they can think about.
They need to make another adaptation. Mark my words.
Hao qi hai si mao (2006)
Tried hard to impress, but really nothing delivered.
This movie got my attention because its producer claimed it'd compete for Oscar foreign language film along with the Banquet and Curse of the Golden Flower, another two big budget Chinese films. But this small budget movie fails to stand out both for story line and performance. Its setting is basically within an apartment building. With twisted love among an unfaithful husband, a heartbroken wife and of course, the lover, a salon owner, the story seemingly is trying to tell how the mystery can evolve into something to grab peoples' heart. Unfortunately, it rapidly runs into mediocre with basically no surprise at all. Its acting can't score anything either. Carina Lau has some shining moments, yet with an emotionless(trying to be sophisticated?)Jun Hu, there is really not much to tell. Its supporting roles are also weird and unconvincing. Well, it is an ordinary story. Maybe it happens everyday in China nowadays. If you are interested in peeking into the changing society, you might find something intriguing. Otherwise, turn on your TV.
