Paper Tigers (2015)
A Must See For Educators
When you understand that behind every kid who acts out or behaves badly there is a reason. More than likely years of reasons. When we fail to understand the kids that we work with, we fail kids. This is a must see for every educator who works with kids...all kinds of kids. To understand that progress is not a straight line, that there will be small victories and then major setbacks, is imperative. For these young people, the end is just the beginning of their journey. Our focus needs to be there beyond the classroom.
Don't Mess with Julie Whitfield (2017)
Too Funny!
As a former PTA babe, this isn't too far off of the mark. When I announced that to raise funds due to the poor return on investment we were neither going to sell wrapping paper or cookie dough, I became the anti-Christ. What it really gets right is the sheer boredom of being a homemaker and what one might do to be someone of value, not that I don't think raising good kids doesn't have significant value. This is just too funny. Well worth 9 minutes of your time.
East Side Sushi (2014)
We Can Only Fly When We are Allowed To
That this movie was filmed on a shoestring or maybe a shoestring's shoestring makes me appreciate it all the more. In a time when finger pointing at those who do the jobs others won't or blame those who can't seem to get ahead, this gives some very subtle insights. When other decide what it is that we can or can not do, everyone looses.

Love Comes in Many Forms
This is one of those movies you may need to see a few times to truly appreciate it. The gentle performances by Meryl Steep, Hugh Grant and Simon Heilberg are brilliant. Florence is not just generous with her money but with her love of music to the point that she is oblivious to her shortcomings. In time you see where her love of other makes her oblivious to the shortcomings of those around her. In turn they come to love her passion and become passionate in supporting her.
