Once upon a time, Taika was Waititi.
4 January 2024
And now, Taika Waititi is not himself anymore.

Looking for something new, special, particular and excessive, trying to make a movie potentially likeable by all kinds of person in the world, Taika created instead a low level work, neither able to let people smile in the typical Waititi style.

It is sad to see a director doing steps behind instead to be better and better, but this is what this movie is, a strong step behind.

I really hope that the next time we'll be able to see again the real Waititi, because what is crystal clear to me and so man Italian and Canadian movie critics is that at the moment Waititi lost is magic touch.

Good graphic & good story, but very bad media promotion
16 December 2021
To be totally honest:

~ I liked the graphic design & I like the story, even if it is nothing special. It is anyway a good story, that is able to give fun to people.

~ Unfortunately, the media case built under this story is totally fake, and ruined it. It is not strange to create media cases in Italian cinema, but this time the situation has been frankly exaggerated. It is not natural to receive votes that repeat themselves one after one, each one saying basically the same concepts, in the same way and in the same style. This doesn't let understand the real value of this work to people seriously interested to give a look to it, and let them wait to see a 10 stars things that, instead, for the critic sector moves itself between 4 & 6 stars. Our 2 stars are related then to this.

What's a pity. :(

Dramatic comedy pervaded from beginning to end with music and the typical English humor that accompanies its strengths and weaknesses at every level. Funny and sentimental story, two people who rebuild themselves thanks to the help of each other, this is the leitmotif of the film thanks to a story that fits perfectly one step after another even if with a certain difficulty , and to two main performers - Ethan Hawke and Rose Byrne - who give their contribution. The use of multimedia via the internet and the theme of women who want to be mothers and who are unable to do so are interesting. Not a masterpiece, but a pleasant film for a relaxing evening with your partner or friends.

A beautiful film to see. Set in Tunis, it has various readings within it, from light and cheerful to deep and full of intense content that an attentive audience will have the pleasure of noticing.

The equally intriguing and disturbing film that tells two stories in parallel, one about tusk hunters and the other about scientific advances that raise the prospect of cloning mammoths. Maxim Arbugaev, co-director and cinematographer, becomes part of the team during the search for the fangs.

Not to be missed

Modern comedy that lives between fantasy and mystery. During the movie the viewer remains intrigued and amused at the same time. It is strong the awareness in the plot that we live in a world dominated by lies both by those who govern us and by the members of our communities to which we belong. The plot mocks the lives of its participants, and in order to be saved, they have to be themselves totally. The main actors are excellent like the other members of cast. Photography and images are perfects, the lights are wonderful and the music hypnotizes. This product represents one of the best messages of love in recent years. Not to be missed.

Wonderfully excessive colors, hypnotic music and a current story that conquers. Not to be missed
