Supergirl: Mxy in the Middle (2021)
"You're angry. And you have every right to be, I'm angry for you..."
Glen Winter is finally back as a director!
What really stands out in this episode is everybody's interaction with each others and what outcomes that may arise. Really liked everyone's personalities and specific viewpoints. And each one's perspective that determine their actions. Everyone's postures was well thought out and general attitudes was authentic and to say the least, understandable. But with all that, it's still plenty of warmth and sincerity that take place.
The camera work was altogether wonderful and when put together with the editing, the outcome was excellent. Really loved all of the locations they shoot in, the atmosphere became discernible. Felt compassion throughout the episode. Liked the camera work within everybody's individual movements. Also especially where everybody stands and/or move is thoroughly. Thought the perspective from the camera was just as great. As well the editing was great. Not only when they cut, but also what they cut towards and how it went together as a whole. The shading in particular was noteworthy and depicts the characters motive wonderfully.
The makeup remains being admirable and this episode, the costumes really work well within the location or specific background. I do love the discernible contrast for the color palettes in this episode. It do really feels like Katie scenes takes place apart. The colours of Peta goes so well together as a whole. The colour of her costume match greatly with her abilities, personality/attitude as well as overall ambience.
Melissa, as always, bring out the best and her acting never cease to impress me. The way she deliver, not only dialogues, but impressions and all kinds of attributes is rather remarkable. The expressions is genuine, original and moreover it give out an singular attachment. Her motions alongside the camera and overall positions was all great. Liked her and Chyler closeness and how they frequently was near each others.
Peta Sergeant keeps delivering and her acting is in every way rather astounding. How she deliver her dialogues with lots of emotions is totally stirring. Her attachment towards Melissa is essential and they really do succeed. Think that they both bring out a side that is altogether innovative or at least distinctive.
Jesse's interactivity with each one was stimulating and to some extent, amusing. Think his chemistry with Nicole in particular, is really one of it's kind. Liked especially his positions or general angle from the camera, the side views in particular is rather enthralling.
Thought that Nicole was definitely great and liked her intellect in this episode. Her feeling guilt was quite intriguing and especially her bond, particularly towards Melissa and Jesse, was compelling.
Although it wasn't' much of Chyler and David, they still made an definite impact. Starting of with Chyler Leigh. Her impression is general influential and has a solicitude that is rather remarkable to say the least. And For Harewood, his facial expression, in this episode in particular, was really good. He makes a rationality for his character that his authentic.
Great to see Thomas Lennon back again and he surely accomplished. Like his attitude, overall charm and enthusiasm. His hair was amusing. Thought that it worked well with his costume. Great voice acting that really affected his expression as a whole. Entertaining to see him being a significant part.
For Katie McGrath scenes, I thought the colour palette was gorgeous. A great choice, that properly emitted rightful suited tone as well as mood. The location, along with set design, was alluring to say the least. A discrete pick and an occurrence that we haven't witness before. Such a contrast when Katie is in the car and externally. Feeling moderately calm when she's in the car but as it goes on it's starting to occur a tone of ominously and it just keeps growing. Thought as well that all of her interactions was done rather affected, but the aftermath was the part that hit me.
To conclude... Although Katie was separated from the main cast, she never felt missed in any way. She emitted a discrete ambience that build her character greatly. Felt that this episode was spectacular. It had sentiments and a sensibility that blend well within the characters. Interactions, reveals and honestness is all major parts of the episode. Think that the cinematography was eye-catching, great soundtrack all over the episode and speldid acting. The location/set design and costumes was resplendent. A fine episode as a whole that absolute deserve a 10/10.
Supergirl: Still I Rise (2021)
"Utterly powerless. I felt that, time and time again."
Jesse Warn did an excellent accomplishment as the director. Great camera work and how/where the actors moved within. The use of lightning and darkness were executed perfectly. Felt that characters position was all from compelling to fascinating.
Jesse Warn has always been one of my favorite directors in Arrowverse. You feel the passion and attachment in his episodes, in particular this one as well. The cinematography especially is an essential basis to my admiration to his episodes. He knows what he's doing and the acting flourish because of that. His episodes consist of competent and even skilled camera movements with good editing that blend wonderfully in. The location, and set design as well, was compelling, which was accompanied by arresting appearances. But what really stand out in "Still I Rise" was how the actors moved within their particular scenes, which was escorted by clever camera work. Along with how close/far away they were, which symbolized their intentions, or overall personality, wonderfully. What's more is everyone's interactions. I really like how the characters interact with each others, and by doing so, gained impressions or even development.
But where it all comes down to is the characters. Really liked Azie in this episode, one of her best performances in my opinion. Along with Melissa, Peta, Jesse and Kari Matchett who did amazing as well. Nicole deserves an honorable mention, when she was good she was astonishing. Really like the interactivity between Melissa and Peta. Peta who has growth into a requisite character, I must say that she's really good. A significant character who is distinctive from anyone else. What's more is her voice acting, which is really great. Feel like that is an essential part of her, that depicts her in a way that her words doesn't. Along with a remarkable makeup upgrade in this episode. For the hair and makeup i was really satisfied. Most ones had an fitting look. While the costumes left me a bit let down. I must say that i do liked the editing, in particular between Nicole Maines character surrounded by the rest. Or just the editing within Nicole separate scenes. Thought that the contrast with the light was a nice touch for her dreams. Or in general atmosphere her dreams emited. This episode in general emitted plainly emotions. Especially a warmth, either a sense of enthralling, or inclusive sorrow.
Really liked the color pallet. Especially when they used cgi. Feel like the background, or overall surrounding(s), was striking and overall dramatic even while there was cgi. A nice touch that can often be forgotten. I also really liked how this episode went together with the previous ones in the season. It connections, and moreover tied togetherness, was impressive and done really excellent. I feel like that is a strong aspect of Supergirl that is often pushed aside. It links previous episodes (and often set up and put out seeds for upcoming episodes) brilliantly. This episode's climax was implemented perfectly. It had nostalgic emotions, that were explored in previous episodes, while setting up new ones. It never seemed forced in any ways and just keep getting extensively.
The environment they were in emitted lots of vehemence and a major circumstance was the energetic dynamic Peta's character were in. And especially with the contrast you had with Melissa's character. In addition you had the illumination that went together with their dispositions and someway mirrored their emotions. Also perfect arrangement with the soundtracks, that occured on appropriate times. Yeah, this episode was a splendid one and a crucial one for establishment. Season 6 continue to going strong. This episode get a guaranteed 10 out of 10.
Supergirl: Welcome Back, Kara (2021)
"Sometimes, even though you're Kryptonian... It's okay to be you."
Supergirl is back and its performance is splendid in every way!
Armen has, as a director, always bringed an distinctive touch and to say the least, singular implementation in his works. "Welcome Back, Kara" is not a exception. Even the first scene you notice Armen's style and overall charm. It's a very clever camera work accomplishment, with Jesse doing his act perfectly as well may i add. The double shots was carried out brilliant, to say the least. And how both the actors and characters performed within their individual location and set design was executed sensationally. It transmitted a diverting mood. Loved how somewhat similar this episode was towards "Ace Reporter ", which Armen of course also directed.
For the cinematography, it was significant in many ways. And then you had the great editing to combine it with. First of all, the cinematography was beautiful and how well it incorporated both shadows and lights. The characters involment was done thoughtfully. Altough the aspect and viewpoint was something standard, they carried on and did the best they could with these particular perspectives. The hair and makeup was elegant, though the costume design did lack my interest. The soundtrack was good and emitted the rightful emotions they aimed for.
Another thing was how well and compelling they did Kara's psyche. It's really one of the most fascinating features of Kara Zor-El, her persona and identity. This episode emits lots of emotion, sentiments to be more exactly and how you can read that between the lines. Interaction is another thing that this episode deals with, and with Kara's psyche be somewhat fragile, it's considerable amount of material that you could use and utilize. Good acting overall, though sometimes i wouldn't mind some improvement. But when it was good it was sumptuous. Every characters motivation is intriguing and it all was set-up excellently. Altogether, they blended humour and sorrow wonderfully, without it being forced in any way. Then on top of that you had everyone's psyche, especially Melissa's and Jason Behr's characters. Wonderfully identity and, in general, existence approach. Thought that Julie Gonzalo's scene as Acrata was done impressively. Loved the set design and the shadows between the glass which had water pouring behind it. It was really striking and eye-catching. Also one of the best part from this episode was just Melissa as Kara. Thought that she performed that role flawlessly if i'm being honest. Gave of an innocent and a delicate side of her that we had never quite seen before, especially on CatCo. The chemistry between Melissa and Jason Behr is quite exceptional. I really am fascinate between theirs authentic attachment. They don't need any words to communicate, their expression is enough. And they exchange their expression exquisitely. Another quite differentiating bond is between Melissa and Staz. They have an innocent and charm that is not like any others. You have the chemistry between Mel and Chyler, the pureness is supreme with them. Then with Mel and Chris you had an dominant passion and compassion like any other. But with Staz it's quite unique for being as sinless and innocent as it is. Charm to say the least.
In conclusion this was a delightful episode and had alluring visuals. And a crucial development for both Melissa and Jason's characters. Although the set-up for potential extension and evolvement was significant. A 9.95/10 does "Welcome Back, Kara" gets!
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations: Momoshiki kengen (2021)
"Does this mean I'm not normal anymore?"
This episode emitted wholesome emotions as well portray sentimentality significant.
First of all we experienced wonderful editing and cutting all over this episode. The cutting depicted each one's distinct feelings. With that you also felt arrested throughout the episode.
Then you had the sensational framing, viewpoint and overall perspective. Of course the camera work was as good as always but in addition to that, the framing really increased the end-result. It captured the characters thought and general views. Great camera work that delineate and moreover, set forth everyone's dialogues. Since this episode dealt with a lot of conversations, the camera work was essential. Particularly to be in motion within sustainable moments. Besides that, be the dominant factor in reasonable and to some extant, justifiable, resolutions to each and every one. The pannings of the camera-movements was done astounding. It ensued a tension and furthermore an enthusiastic avidness.
With the dialogues the voice acting becomes indispensable and everyone did an excellent, even a compelling execution. The voice actors gave out an approach that resulted in an admirable appeal for the characters. Genuine, to say the least. That is one of the biggest features on why, both Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Naruto & Naruto Shippuden, it's as good as it's. The voice actors express their voices to the fullest extent, which result more than their voices itself. The dialogues that was being giving occurred at perfectly times and the separation on who was at frame when the specific dialogue was giving was formulated superbly. And moreover translated an analysis that could be read ambiguously.
Glorious shading and lighting as well. The shading represented the individual characters, meanwhile the lighting (which was for the majority of time colourful, sporadically even multicolored) illustrated the setting and the whole environment. What's more is everybody's specific movements, not just for the camera-perspective, but also their specified moves within the location. The contrast between corner and center, as well as where the windows where. It was thought-out.
The development was appreciable. Most of the people expanded in some way. Alongside that, each person's psyche gets diversify and thus reflects onto the others. They all affect each others and therfore, in consequence, impacts one another. (Some unconscious to that even.)
Liked the attitude in addition. Everybody's attitude was authentic, because of that nobody seemed over-the-top or overreact. The attitude represented everyone in their sincere selfness. And you can't talk about attitude without mention expression. Especially facial-expression. I thought everyone's facial-expression, (for not talk about the illustration) was alluring, to say the least. It wasn't only genuine but also exuberant and energetic in many ways. That is something Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has always delivered. Though this episode in particular, had brilliant shading to boost their external expression. What's more is that you felt each person's internal feeling surprisingly more than usual. And that has a lot to do with the editing and standpoint of course.
The artwork was awesome. Really liked the style, outlines and shapes. Shape for both the characters and the location. Thought that everything looks splendid. Combined with the nice colour palette, the outcome was outstanding. The whole lot put together characterized a bigger meaning than just the condition itself. The colors emited a tone that was remarkable and wouldn't have emerge without the hue.
Talk about astonishing soundtrack. What an aura and emanation it emanated. It emerged on ideal times and reflected the characters thoroughly. As well presented dramatic qualities and idiosyncrasy that distinguished the specific character.
In conclusion, although we for a majority of times spended in the same placement it never felt tedious. It was altogether an excitement that emerged. Thoughtfulness, would be my description on this episode. A good one, definitely one that deserves 10/10 without exception!
Dallas: Requiem (1983)
Hagman outshines himself as a director!
Well well, this is among the greatest episodes of any series, period. Much to that acclaim goes to Larry Hagman himself. His director achievement for "Requiem" is marvelous!
First of all we have the aesthetic quality it produces. Both visually and denotational. The setting design depicture everyone's mood perfectly. For the majority of the scenes and in the episode as a whole, the atmosphere plays an important role.
Secondly, this episode portray loss in a wonderful sense. Everyone express their persona and nature remarkable and to say the least, realistic. Meanwhile still stay true to themselves. Nothing or nobody ever felt forced or exaggerated in any terms. (Although i wasn't sure with Morgan Brittany's character, however i'm still intrigued and confident where they taking her.) I adored the camera work combined with the editing. It was cinematographed beautifully and with that merged well with characters positions in their setting designs and general locations. It illustrated the characters within the story delightfully. You felt more intensely when the camera focused on less or even one individual. Meanwhile the cutting focused more on their tempers. Then we had each one's position within the scene and their fitting background and thenceforth possibly movements. It all worked out wonderfully. Not to mention everyone has a great angle for the camera and subsequently a perspective that both represented the characters intention, but also reflected on us, the viewers.
Then we have the acting, wow! Let's talk about a certain Victoria Principal... Her acting is first-class and deserves much more reputation! The dialogues put together with her attitude comes off as authentic as you can be! The movements fits with her mood and thereupon transmit sentimentality. She capture the camera so well and fulfill an distinctive ambience. Ken Kercheval. His acting keeps amaze me and always bring something fresh or unexpected. His character must be fun to play of the greyness and where he stands. The emotion he bringed in this episode was beyond sterling and absolutely arrested me. His body language was essential and expressed distinctnessly that, still, could be read between the lines. Audrey Landers, how she has evolved. Fun to see. I never would have believed that she would be in such a requisite role that she is. And i must say that i interpreter that her acting has only improved and is now capable to add cooperation and emit success from her co-workers. Her passion she radiate is fundamental and particular inevitable (particular for Ken Kercheval's denouement.) Moreover it's lovely to see them take the best out of each others! Talk about greyness characters, that brings me to Larry Hagman. Even though Larry directed this episode, he did appeared extensively and what an amazing acting-performance he did, (in spite of the fact that he did directed himself.) Hagman's character is such an ambiguous character and what's more, he is ne'er written immoderate or acting over-the-top. It's such a thin edge for JR to slip over and become suchlike black and white character that he's supposed to be opposite to. And 50% of it is due to the writers but the rest is up to Hagman himself, and he just keeps carry it out exquisitely.
Patrick Duffy's shame and additionally, his realization, for his actions is startling. You could really feel and get an compassion for him, (hell Victoria said that she wouldn't offer sympathy but i can't help to provide some.) Duffy's character radiate such an ambience, full of humanity, but keep having (either produce or/and composed) his contexts expanded. This Sue Allen is hands down my favorite and much of that comes from the enthralling accomplishment from Linda Gray. Linda Gray certainly has find herself for this role and is rather comfortable altogether. I love her standpoints and therafter loyalty she possess, it's a essential value. Also all of her individual relations is rather distinctive. Her irresistible expression mixed with her dialogues is rather captivating. Howard Keel is another character that has only grew and same as Sue Allen, his standpoints in fairly exclusive. His attitude has always been peculiar, and by this time i think it fits right in. Is this the last appearance we will get from Priscilla Pointer? If it is, then she should be very proud of her performance. She and Victoria acted on each other wonderfully and couldn't help feel empathy for them. It provided also with some great camera work, substantially the angles. And with that the substance could build upon the style that had laid the foundation. Charlene Tilton in this episode is wholesome and is necessary to bring the certain charm that she is certainly capable of. And her confident conversation-tone and body acting is remarkable. Besides that her expression is, as always, singular. Like the dynamic she has with well, everyone. Especially in this episode with Steve Kanaly, their scene was appealing. The cutting and pacing between Tilton's scene was something that stood out for me. With that it never bringed down the scenes before or after and still never felt out of place. A fine combination that worked.
Also the soundtrack is competent and, if anything, elevate the aesthetic and the whole episode as a whole. The costume design with hair and makeup was extraordinary and fitted right in, both for the background and what's more, the tone altogether. The lighting was impressive, and even when it lacked to some extent an extensive colour palette, it provided with some gorgeous nature light. That in turn gave out an exceptional emanation.
Let's move over to the best actors/actresses in this episode: That belongs to miss Victoria Principal. Outstanding performance in every way. Above all the content and screenplay she had been given was in the first hand superb, but to thereafter deliver the performance she did, that is something else entirely. Then for the best costume, Victoria Principal & Charlene Tilton deserves an honorable mention, but in the end i have to give it to: Audrey Landers. Landers costumes in this episode was striking and stunning. Over and above that her makeup was terrific, but after all it's her dress the won me over.
Episode 18 of season 6, "Requiem" is amid the greatest episode of any show, decisively for the aesthetic impression it emits. Larry did a fabulous execution! Indisputable 10/10 this one.
Dallas: Mama Dearest (1982)
Director Duffy!
Patrick Duffy did a significant achievement as a director!
Among the best episodes that deals with humanity and their individual considerations. The most remarkable fulfillment in this episode would be everyone's characteristics, both literally and figuratively speaking. Their positions, both within their scenes and individual movements implemented was well organized and regarded the full picture. The editing, that was composite, of the cutting was really great. And i thought that the whole structure was nice cut together and how and when the scenes come into adaptation. The camera perspective was excellent, which resulted in display of each ones definition(s). Although it lacked, to some extent, sensational visuals or something like that. It did nonetheless bring quality lightning and good shadeness with good overall tone.
I don't know if it's all of the actors, or the directing and overall writing section. But for sometime, especially in this episode, i'm starting to like them more and get an overall interest for the rest of the oilmens & lawyers.
For the actors, they really shined. Patrick bringed out the very best from his co-workers. And Patrick was in this episode a lot, that say something how good of an artist he is! Among the best episodes for Barbara Bel Geddes! How she delivered her dialogues was something else. It was great emotion behind her speech but they never became bigger than her. And also how Victoria (take sides) with Barbara Bel Geddes character, i find it stimulating and in general gripping. Victoria Principal, as of always, really deliver and bring something exceptional. Her acting is impressive and extraordinary. Kercheval performance was excellent and unlike Bel Geddes, he thoroughly let his screenplay get extensive and encompass as a whole. That proves (and everyone of these actors actually) how good of an actor Ken is. It could easily been over the top or something like that, especially in the situation Kercheval's character is in. To some extent, Kercheval's character is full of fragileness, but in addition to that, he's also strong and deep with characteristics. That is something hard to portray as an actor but Ken does it magnificent. And talk about Charlene. She maintain a greatness and never let her character be featureless or bland. In particular when she is in her depressed or gloomy attitude. That could easily be repeating as it's (to some extent) frequent. But she consistently bring out some creativeness and altogether newness. And (especially in her miserable state) her acting for all the movements and overall body acting is supreme. As well as portraying her attitude, remarkable dispatching it is. Also really liked Charlene's placement in this episode. Great developing on how she was position and placementing in front of the camera, as well as amongst the characters within the scene. Furthermore her connection to everyone else was achieved excellently. And for Howard Keel's character, someone that i doesn't care for much, even he starting to get an intriguing development. Which sides he's on, whom he rather get allied with and so on. Audrey Landers is surprisingly good and her chemistry towards Ken has always been particularly good. This episode i find her more compelling than usual, i don't know why but Duffy really bringed out something! Priscilla Pointer is starting to grow into something extraordinary and is really curious to see where and whom she is associated with.
This episode was a great one and much for Duffy's directing! "Mama Dearest" get an estimable 9,85/10.
Legends of Tomorrow: Back to the Finale: Part II (2021)
"I see Captain Lance. I see Sara, my oldest friend. We need you... Please.
Astounding episode!
Glen Winter makes his 2nd (3rd if you separate the two Pilots) Legends episode and what an impressive return he has given. First and foremost the cinematography combine with the editing is remarkable and really alluring. Great depiction, with beautiful visuals and everybody's portrayal was authentic. The camerawork was spectacular, that gives a bigger sentiment and care for the characters. The costumes, hair and makeup as well as the setting was all familiar but still emitted a rather distinctive tone and overall ambience. Which i find utterly admirable.
For the cast, just outstanding performances for all of them! Dominic, Caity, Jes and Tala, for just name few of them, gave an significant achievement. Sterling to say the least. Their accomplishment was sublime that transmitted well and subsequently emitted substantially compassion. Can't get over how magnificent the editing was, not just for their scenes itself, but also how well they blended in within the episode as a whole. Also i find it rather noteworthy how contemplative the actors moved around within their individual scenes. Where they stood against the camera and what motions they all made. The distinction between camera and the actor's movement.
Imposing soundtrack as well. Really gave out an arresting and to say the least, dramatic quality. "Back to the Finale: Part II" definitely deserves a 10/10.
Superman & Lois: O Mother, Where Art Thou? (2021)
"There is no us or them."
Harry Jierjian delivers an amazing direction performance!
The visuals is clearly the primarily part of why it's as significant as it is. Love how every visual merged with the editing conceive a substantial outcome. The camera work and cinematography is executed excellent. With the actor's performance felt genuine. Really liked how the colours progressed along within the story. It's reflectance was essential. Liked how the characters moved within their scenes as well. It was well thought out. And that is one major thing that Superman & Lois has always dealt with, but sometimes it seemed rushed or uncommitted. This time it felt authentic. Furthermore the editing mixed with their movements and camera worked was accomplished preeminent. The background behind the characters had an signified denotation, so in addition, along with their movements it's construct a signification.
The costumes itself was decent but amalgamate it in the scene as a whole, it in fact does provoke a merit. The locations along with the setting was noteworthy. It did evoke a strong atmosphere that boosted the characters intention. Most of the actors really bringed out their finest acting. Erik Valdez, Adam Rayner and Stacey Farber especially. Emmanuelle Chriqui really distribute a demanding task and she did it superb.
As for post production goes, it was done great! Soundtrack never felt out of place and the effects (although i'm not that good of judging them and don't think that they are that essential) did look singular. The pacing and how well they tied everything in together amidst great overlapping was done brilliantly.
Tyler Hoechlin as Superman really grows on me and looking forward to see both more of him, as well his resistance towards Adam Rayner. Their chemistry is remarkable and i'm very fond of it. "O Mother, Where Art Thou?" definitely deserves a 10/10 and i'm quite positive that this is their greatest episode up to date.
Supergirl: Prom Again! (2021)
"You're a visionary, you're formidable, you're friends with Oprah." "I am?"
Chyler Leigh makes her directorial debut!
Although i thought last episode was done better, this one had an ambience like no other. Much comes from the cast and the overall tone throughout the episode.
The pacing was one of the foremost qualities, which combines well within each individual characters own correspond. Excellent execution for how well everything tied in for both of the episodes, but moreover for the show itself. Everything came naturally, it never felt forced.
It's hard to say anything negative on this episode, because it was nothing that was assuredly poor or lacklustering. But with that it additionally doesn't make anything brilliance or spectacular. It's just very safe and it's nothing wrong with that. However i thought the editing was a bit odd in the beginning, maybe it got better while it proceeded or i neglected. Nonetheless that is what good editing is, you doesn't noticing it if you doesn't attentivening. Some of the costume design choices was peculiar. My view was that the outfits didn't go that well along within the production design and overall lightness. That being my biggest issue for this episode.
It essentially gets a 10 for me and lands on a 9,5/10. Chyler Leigh should be very proud!
Batwoman: Initiate Self-Destruct (2021)
"I've always wanted to ride in the Batmobile."
Glen Winter makes his debut within Batwoman!
This episode felt distinct right from the start. Certainly the best episode from Season 2, even a contender for the best episode from both the seasons. Cinematography had improvement, with that the ambience was significant. Remarkable editing as well. Camera movement overall was great but the main recognition had to be the perspectives and the great angles that occurred simultaneously within the editing. The lightning and hair-makeup accomplishment was wonderful.
Wallis Day's acting was noteworthy and can't wait to see more of her. Javicia has definitely grow as Ryan and is now one of my favorites in this show.
However it has nevertheless some setbacks, such as occasionally the acting wasn't there for me and had greatly amount of dialogues. Would have loved to see Glen Winter tackle more of visual storytelling. Although i know it's Gotham and suppose would look gloomy, i would have liked to see some more colors. At least more silhouettes. It has huge potential to play around with shadow and structures. Such as in the room where Peter Outerbridge, Laura Mennell and Wallis Day were in. Magnificent color palette there and had substantial illumination from the lamps/fires that assemble staggering shadows that makes an prodigious atmosphere.
Yet i love any single interactivity between every character especially in this episode but moreover the series in general. They are done both compelling, and balanced so well and still is located behind the lines. They never feel too much but still unleash a great amount of presence that keeps you enticing. Each character has different amount of knowledge and perspective on things. Good amounts of that substance are comparable and analogous towards us, the viewer.
Batwoman is a show that has always dealt with style over substance and "Initiate Self-Destruct" is a prime example of that. Episode 12 of season 2, "Initiate Self-Destruct" gets a 9,8 out of a 10.
Supergirl: Prom Night! (2021)
"I believe there is some superbeing behind the so-called miracles in this town."
What an episode! I've been a fan of Alexandra La Roche's directing all across the Arrowverse. And she delivers again.
Best part of "Prom Night!" is definitely the production design and the costumes that fits right in. While having a great cinematography with great editing in it. Also don't forget the casting! Izabela and Olivia is just perfect inclusion for young addition for their roles that they're playing. And Eliza Helm does an astonishing interpretation that fits just the character that she's portraying.
Contains great consolidation with both humor and drama that turns into sorrow. Fantastic balance between all the genres, (even a part of sci-fi includes), a great deal of that success comes from the competent editing. Nicole does numerous remarkable performances. And Jesse really shines all over this episode.
What we really need is Jesse and Nicole to join Legends of Tomorrow after Supergirl finish!
An fantastic episode that gets a thoroughly 10/10!
Supergirl: Rebirth (2021)
"We will get her back. Until then, together... We will keep this city safe."
What an outstanding season premiere for a final season. Season 6 starting off strong!
The directing, visuals, camerawork and editing was altogether so wonderful. Astounding color palette, being everything from their costumes to background to the visual effects. The location and the set design was so well thought and locked beautiful at the same time deliver a exciting atmosphere. Costume design alone wasn't that impressive but within the background and the substance of the context, it did evoke the final result.
Melissa owns the part and (as always) nailed it. Asides from her i thought that Jesse, Nicole and Katie really shined. Jesse and Katie's voice acting was noteworthy, while Nicole's body acting was splendid. Every actor bringed out a intense presence that worked well within their scene. A honorable mention for Azie and Julie. Although they hadn't that much to play with they unleashed a great presence and appearance.
Enjoyed the pacing around Lex and liked every interaction between Jon and Melissa.
For post productions, the soundtrack was entrancing and wouldn't mind maintain it.
Great atmosphere all over the episode and among the best SG episodes. Although the visuals effects wasn't at their best, it's easy to look past it. Definitely a 10/10 episode!
The Flash: The Speed of Thought (2021)
"Long live the snow queen"
Wow, such an exceptional episode. Loved every moment of it!
First of every shot was stunning and some captivating in an haunting way. The editing was remarkable, the colours was so well mixed, a beautiful episode in so many ways. The humor is also a lot more close to dark humor than typical. The outfits was really well thought and melted well with the background and rest of that scene in a whole.
Grant has been brilliant in the first 2 episodes. Although how the emotions was lacking from Barry, Grant brings forth a devotion that only the viewers can sympathize with.
This may be Efrat Dor's best episode up to the date (a strong contender would be 6x19). Her acting is the whole reason to why this episode feels so evocative it does. Though for not having a great amount of screen time she deliveries and makes a feeling that last throughout the episode.
Do i even need to talk about the writing? It's just sensational in every way and clever. The dialogues is great and flows great within the scene and all the different camera shots. You just feel captivating in a engaging and thrilling way.
10/10 this one!
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations: Shijima no kuni e (2020)
"You said you were expecting lots of money. Is it for the Hashirama cell?" "I was just called over here because I have knowledge about the Hashirama cell."
Such a thrilling episode this one!
The strongest aspect is the expressive atmosphere. Shijima no Kuni has a haunting aura that engage you. Would love to know more about its history. All the colors are expressive and blending in well together. It's great shot and the camera movements are excellent.
The characters are all likeable, the plot is intriguing and well written. The characterisation was well shot and every frame was in a beautiful perspective. They are well aware that it's somewhat similar to Tenchi-Kyo Teisatsu Ninmu arc in Naruto, but they are giving us somewhat fresh air and doing everything in a diffrent style.
The latest episodes has been to some extent more mature and wouldn't mind keep it that.
This epsiode gets a deserved 9.9/10.
Legends of Tomorrow: The One Where We're Trapped on TV (2020)
"I say don't touch it." "Right, but on the other hand... why not?"
What a hilarious episode this is! Guggenheim's directing is fantastic and everything is shot stunning. A very eye pleasing episode, with great aesthetic on it. The visuals and the colours mixed very well.
Tala, Nick, Matt and Shayan owns it. Ramona Young does a great comeback and delivers her best performance. She was written very well and i wouldn't mind if she became regular if she was written this way, like outside the box. Very clever.
The humor in the beginning and how emotionally it got in the end was a nice trip. It was done well, it's hard to pull it off. Ngl this episode highly reminded me of Supernatural "Changing Channels", but the reason behind it was very different.
Definitely a 10/10 episode.
Dallas: Sue Ellen's Choice (1980)
"Does anything matters to you anymore?"
Wow, this episode is so beautiful! Almost every relation is at stake.
Victoria and Patrick is absolutely perfect in this episode, their chemistry is something special. Shame that Ken didn't appear much, but his scene with Victoria was significant. Great to see how JR is protecting John against the divorce, love that storyline.
Everything was shot so stunning and all of the outfits was delightful. Every frame had something eye catching!
An absolute 10/10.
Dallas: Mother of the Year (1979)
Director Hagman!
Larry Hagman does a spectacular job as a director! Also how much JR is involved in this episode, proves that Larry outshines himself.
I love all of the stories and how well they tie in together. Especially Pam's love for John and how Sue Allen comes around in this episode. It's beautiful. Lucy was good in this episode aswell, her speech to Sue Ellen was something remarkable. JR wins the deal, everyone is happy but no one thanks him and he feels somewhat "betrayed" is just fantastic storytelling (also the somewhat of sympathy you get to JR is excellent.)
The camera work was on point but the editing was the most astounding. How the cutting and dialogue work over each other is impressive. The acting was (as always) amazing, everyone's facial expression mixed with the script felt so real and honest!
Notable actors/actress: Victoria Principal, Ken Kercheval, Patrick Duffy, Larry Hagman (can't give him enough credit for the directing), Jim Davis and Jeff Cooper!
This one gets a certain 10/10.
Dallas: Secrets (1979)
"Pam, whatever's the matter, whatever your reasons are, you're gonna have to tell me sometime..."
Such an engaging episode! Pam has the most capturing storyline and her affections to everyone keeps getting more complex. Wonderful! Her and Bobby's relation is just the sweetest. Also Cliff is one of the most major characters and love how he's involved in everything. Lucy meeting Valene and getting closer is pleasant and how JR is connected into that. Love how Ellie is there and listen to everyone. Love how complex the storyline is getting and tie into everything!
The directing was splendid and overall had such a aesthetic tone! Love how the camera keeps zooming in on characters that are up to something. That are something that works really well on this show, (it's easy that it would feel cheesy, but they handling it perfectly.) The dialogues are great, (especially Pam & Bobby and JR & Sue Ellen.)
This episode is one of my favorites so far, a 10/10 rating!
Legends of Tomorrow: Ship Broken (2020)
"I rescued him..." "Oh." "...from hell"
This is probably one of my favorite episodes in this season. The comedy is insanely good. It's such a classic Legends episode :)
Such a fun episode this one. I do like Gary, so having him as a big character is pleasant. Also how this story somewhat mislead us to believe Sara's power is the cause of all this is really clever. Mick and Lita's bonding time is both sweet and entertaining. Every character felt so real, their charisma really shine through.
This Arrowverse week was incredible strong. A solid 10/10 episode.
The Flash: Pay the Piper (2020)
"But you have to do more than just forgive yourself, you have to believe that your world can change. That's the part that i forgotten"
What an episode! Filled with intense, epicness and sadness.
What really does it is Godspeed, Pied Piper and the directing of Amanda Tapping. It's very splendid. And such a great camera works all over the episode. The visuals also really stands out, it's wonderful. The soundtrack was pleasant. Andy really does a superb acting!
Yeah, everything was beyond awesome! Can't wait for the next week. A perfect 10/10 ep.
Supergirl: Deus Lex Machina (2020)
Director Benoist!
Wow, what an incredible directing of Melissa! I'm so happy and proud of her, such a great job. How the camera work pays out, all the visuals and the intriguing atmosphere are without doubt the best part of the episode. The acting is as always awesome.
About the plot: It's a very strong and important one, it really ties together everything. It's not a "villain of the week one" at all. It actually a very creative one. Props to the writing team! I just love small paced episodes that are filled with twists and turns. Some may called it boring but i call it creative and artistic (when it's done right). Also it is filled with a lot of details that makes this episode feel substantial.
Supergirl keeps deliver quality and i just can't wait for the next episode! An absolute 10/10 episode, Thank you Melissa.
Supergirl: It's a Super Life (2020)
"I know it didn't turn out the way we expected, but you... You still helped me, Mxy. You freed me from my burden of guilt"
An outstanding 100th episode!
Melissa's acting really shines in this episode, also Thomas Lennon does a wonderful job as Mxyzptlk. Would love to see him return at some point. Fantastic directing of Jesse Warn! LOVED the cinematography and the atmosphere all over the episode. It has bunch of hilarious moments, as well as some dramatic. Also some action, which was so well done!
Glad to see some familiar faces. And everyone did their acting SO good!
It just had everything you could ask for. An episode that i will always remember!
An absolute 10/10 episode!
Supergirl: Back from the Future - Part Two (2020)
"Sometimes, people can surprise us"
Great episode this one!
Love all Danvers sister scenes, Winn and Toyman storyline are good. Kara and William has some cute moments. The karaoke scene in the beginning are a wonderful scene, also all Kara and Winn scenes are fantastic! The only thing that was missing was Nia, but other than that it was great!
The visions and cinematography was on point! The action is amazing. Some of the acting was sometimes a bit off, but for the most part it was fine. Although Melissa, Chyler, David, Jeremy and Henry Czerny is awesome.
Nice cliffhanger with Mxyzptlk and a exciting setup for the 100th episode.
Even though i think the previous episode was a bit stronger, this one was still great. So i give it 9.6/10
Arrow: Fadeout (2020)
"He had to become something else. I always thought that meant to become The Green Arrow but... Today i realised that meant becoming a better man"
Wow, what a ride. Thanks Arrow!
This is an emotional episode. And a great conclusion to this incredible series! Everyone acting was on point and it was beautiful to see everyone (even characters that have been gone for awhile). It was good and beautiful soundtrack all over the episode.
When Quentin did his speech i couldn't stop tearing up for the rest of the episode. For not mention Diggle's speech. Like damn, that hits the feels.
Also it was a great plot involving William. (Poor him. He gets kidnapped a second time, first time being of Adrian). Mia does a wonderful job as The Green Arrow. All the Oliver scenes was beyond fantastic! All the fight scenes was excellent. Diggle as Green Lantern, yaaay! I'm so happy for it. I couldn't ask for a better ending for all of the characters! It's a great possibility that we see them again in the Arrowverse! And ofc the new series Green Arrow and the Canaries.
Thanks Oliver and Stephen! You'll be missed.
This one was a great finale, Season 8 was amazing, the series as a whole is outstanding and ARROW THANK YOU!!! 10/10 of course!
Supergirl: Back from the Future - Part One (2020)
"You're Supergirl. Being in your orbit, it's inspiring"
What a great directing of David Harewood! Great to see Jeremy Jordan back and his interactions with everyone. Stunning cinematography all over this episode, great atmosphere and as always the acting is fantastic.
I really liked Nia in this episode, the acting of Nicole was splendid! I I adore her friendship with Winn. And how they mention and teases about Nura. An emotional scene between Brainy and Winn. And what a sweet moment with everybody, when they're playing at the end.
Also i'm interesting in how they will (potential) handle Kara and William's relation.
Overall this was a excellent episode: 9.8/10
