Kallachirippu (2018)
Don't waste your precious time!
Worst story and completely Western social values being pushed unnecessarily through Indian cinemas. Could not watch beyond 40 minutes.
Pattabhiraman (2019)
Great Entertainer with good message
Forget all negative reviews and go and watch it! The starting it's was a grand one, the movie set pace on its own dwelling into many interlinked characters in an entertaining manner. Right mix of acting, music, story, message.... The screenplay made the possibly a boring story into a very interesting and thrilling one. This is not a water tight stiff and boring story line like Drishyam 2 and many such movies. Instead, this gives opportunity for each character and their multiple facets in a honest fashion. I have watched it many times and have recommended it to many of my friends. FYI, I don't understand Malayalam.
Aa Karaala Ratri (2018)
Intriguing Movie not for faint hearted!
The movie started and ending highlighting the same message through a simple story of a village family.
All characters look real in such places, acting was very decent though they could have avoided songs for sake of integrity!
Music and background score was good since I watched it at home in Home theatre hence couldn't make out anything significant. Photograph was very nice capturing the essence of a remote village home.
Chennakesava character was played very nice throughout and at times creating many doubts in our minds. Lead female character and her mother looked just more than real.
The final parts of the movie was never heard in Indian cinema by leaving very hard impression in your mind though played very very low profile!
Drishyam 2 (2021)
Almost Very well made thriller sequel!!
As I always felt after seeing Papanasam (Tamil version) I felt the climax was completely against the principles of Hindu darma in terms of not honouring the real culprit involved in terms of culprits parents perspective, it was always incorrect and incomplete.
This movie correctly set the pace by making the lead character vulnerable again with his over confident approach in his life with past life deeds gives perfect alibi for what has been brewing under his own watch. The tight family, story revolving around natural family dramas really making the viewers attached to the film.
The screen play as usual clever until the maximum part of the movie, the twists being unfurled one after the other along with the dynamics within the small town makes the movie very intersting and you slowly beging to satisfy this is no more family soap opera....any more after the half way....
Casting and acting all perfect and everyone did their part exceedingly well. Unlike earlier version the emotional moments involved from both end are lesser compared to comprehensively larger in the earlier(again the lady acting as the retired police officer takes away the maximum point as her character alone has the sense of purpose in the entire film wrt to emotion taking my full appreciation again, as the DIG rightly asking, rather wondering the the her husband that he couldn't understand his emotions as a contrast points).
Music was really clever, very sensible mostvoften by removing the background score and one modern genre forgettable song. Camera work is awesome with naturally looking lightings, hilly Kerala landscape, THE HOUSE, etc have been captured without adding saturation.
Now, When you introduce brand new characters linking to the prequel it will be taken as a weak point. Definitely the same here, but the screen play allowed the disaster but immediately air lifting the play again with different approach by playing the level field for all character to be respected for their roles.
I don't want to talk about the forensic scenes here culminating the twist which was kind of expected but not in this play though not unacceptable but could have avoided to be the 10/10 movie....
Thiruttu Payale 2 (2017)
Completely wasted opportunity
A very promising story line with contemporary subjects, high tech etc..eventually falling too short in Storytelling, scream play, character development. Climax scenes are far too average and it was like watching TV Serial. A complete opposite of Vikram-Veda. Music and Songs nothing to add to the story. Prasanna seems to be playing negative characters but must insist stronger roles. Just showing abs and 6 packs alone cannot make the movie good. Hi-Tech Sci-Fi movies might touch audience in Western countries, whereas in India with so much loopholes, it will be very difficult to make it interesting
