PERFECT

This is without doubt the finest series Netflix has commissioned. I absolutely love it. The writing, the characters, the acting, all incredible. Jason Bateman absolutely brilliant. Laura Linney exceptional and the supporting cast outstanding.

Oh dear......

Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to enjoy this so much, southern, fiesty, unhappily married woman whos son dies. He has a failing drag club which is left to her. Against husbands wishes she travels to San Francisco to his funeral. Due to his lifestyle choice he is estranged from family, especially father who is not happy about mum going there. Anywho basically she turns the club around, finds love and a drag queen family. There are certain good parts Lucy Lu, the 3 main drag queens and Jackie Weaver but it does feel like a vehicle for her and as great an actress as she is she is too old to be the mother and to be perfectly honest I thought her husband was her other son certainly not her husband. It was pleasant and I really was rooting for it but it was like a tick list on how to make a successful film. Very contrived.

ARTICULATE

I enjoyed the film. Great acting, its no 'Seven' or 'Zodiac' but watchable and kept me interested I just wish actors would speak clearly and not mumble.

Funny, sweet Aussie Rom-com

I really enjoyed this, it was funny, well written and directed by Josh Lawson. All involved were top class especially Rafe Spall, who in my opinion is an exceptional actor.

I laughed out loud in places and that does not happen often. Good Job.

Ermmm not good.

Warning: Spoilers
To be honest it started out well, I enjoyed it, then mummy turned into probably the weakest vampire I have ever seen portrayed. Blade would have been saying "what the hell is going on here". The heroine couldn't fight her way out of a paper bag, she was continually overpowered, and shot. The sum total of her lines appeared to be growling and calling for her son, who never did what he was told by the way. It was disappointing. I needed her to kick ass, it never happened. As an end note no terrorist group ever, unless they were recruited by Acme Corporation would have the completely over the top psycho cabin crew as a member....and probably the best line of the whole script "don't press the big button".

Gosh there are some pompous snobs on here with their "original productions" are best bla bla bla.....I love any production that brings The Bard to all. I have watched numerous productions of his work from travelling performances, stage performances to The Globe theatre performances I love them all. I love this they do a good job of dragging it into the 21st century. Its just fantastic, the music, the visuals and Pete Postlethwaite, really what more could you ask for.

Erm...what were the police doing?
15 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Started out well. Good acting, interesting story a little slow at times but very watchable. Then about halfway through it began to annoy me. The police department appeared to be as thick as mud, what were they doing? Oh yes....they were at the beck and call of a profiler who made them look like idiots. The profiler was amazing she found every clue, cured an insane young man who had not spoken for 10 years in a matter of days, found the killers hideaway and rescued two girls killing the insane murderer as well.......surely Sainthood should follow.

In fact she should have kept the police informed from the start. Absolutely ridiculous that she went into the house in the first place after finding the van. Call in the police with a warrant, then go inside because she would have no alternative but shoot the killer (after retrieving the gun she lost out of the window)🙄 because nothing she found in the house could be used against the man as she BROKE in. I could go on but suffice it to say that the killer after being well and truely torched managed to break through the burning room door before she shot him 6 times..oh after forgetting to put bullets in her gun....phew.

Humbug

I loved it and I am 65 years of age. I agree the expletives didn't add anything and were not necessary but it was well written and very well acted. If you want same old same old then watch Muppets Christmas Carol or Alistair Sims original (both of which I love) but this was different and I enjoyed it
