Toilet - Ek Prem Katha (2017)
Good initiative to spread awareness.
The movie's story has been well thought of ; the plight of villagers specially women who have to defacate in open has been portrayed in a realistic manner. The problem of not having toilets at home isn't an ordinary one. A major reason for rising number of rapes in rural areas is that women have to go out in the open fields and defacate. The toilet scams, lack of awareness and the unwillingness of people in villages to change their old notions are a real problem. The movie has some songs and romantic scenes which unnecessarily increase its time duration, the jokes aren't funny enough to make you laugh but Akshay Kumar definitely holds your interest throughout. The second half is more informative and happening. In short, you may go and watch this movie with your family or friends over the weekend.
Lipstick Under My Burkha (2016)
over-hyped; can be missed
This movie revolves around the lives of 4 women. The director tries to portray how unhappy these 4 are in their lives, due to their circumstances which are mainly the result of our society. Ratna Pathak's narration throughout the movie is very irritating, even though her performance is very bold and outstanding. The movie tends to be very slow and has been unnecessarily prolonged.
There is no proper conclusion shown in the end and it is left uncertain, as the movie ends abruptly. Watch the movie only if you have nothing else to do.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
one time watch
This is a movie, you'd love to go and watch with your family specially if there are kids in the house. After all, Superheroes fascinate us all. The movie goes on smoothly and does not really have any nail biting intense action scenes that are expected out of a Marvel movie, but overall it's worth a watch. Iron man's charisma is a cherry on top.
Tamasha (2015)
The movie that changed my outlook on life.
I saw this movie for the first time the week it was released, around a couple of years ago and fell in love with it.
Today, I cannot count the number of times I have seen it. This is one of Imtiaz Ali's best movies ever.
The movie shows how we all have a soulmate out there waiting for us to find them. It also shows how important it is for us to believe in ourselves and our dreams in order to lead a life which brings us pleasure. The beautiful locations of Europe, mainly Corsica and the catchy songs add more life to the movie. Ranbir has undoubtedly performed flawlessly and Deepika is as perfect as ever. This is one movie you should not miss watching.
Mubarakan (2017)
Forget all your worries and laugh it all of.
Mubarakan is the kind of a movie which you go to watch with your friends when you are in the mood to simply laugh at everything.A good bollywood slapstick comedy with no double meaning jokes after a really long time. If you are the kind of a person who is in the habit of laughing at small things, you'll have a grin on your face throughout. Anil Kapoor sort of has the 'welcome' touch in his acting which is quite enjoyable. Arjun Kapoor, Ileana, Neha have all performed their parts well. However, Ratna Pathak's PUnjabi accent is a little absurd. The movie becomes slow towards the end, the first half is more enjoyable. Go to watch the movie only if you are not looking for something serious or sensible. Sometimes, it's good to just go and have a good laugh.
Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017)
watch the movie only by expecting nothing out of it
Being an ardent fan of Shah Rukh khan's acting and Imtiaz Ali's direction I had already booked my tickets for the first and second show of the movie on the date of its release. I was pretty disheartened after the first show, as I had expected the story line to be as deep as that of Tamasha and the love story to be as timeless as that of Veer zara, Jab tak hai jaan or any other such shahrukh khan movie, but this turned out to be a disappointment.
However, when I went to see it the second time, I enjoyed Shahrukh's acting and the songs since I already knew what was coming next and was expecting nothing out of it as not only did Shahrukh khan break his "no kiss policy" in the movie but also the hearts of many viewers.
The songs are undoubtedly very beautiful, the shooting locations are of Eastern European countries that I recently visited so I relished those bits. The story and script could have been much better.
"Potential and talent wasted" was what I thought when I came out of the movie hall.
You may still go and watch it once but keep your expectations very low.
