The inheritance is a 1 hour 25 minute horror film that feels half done. The storyline is good but the execution leaves much to be desired. If you're into blood and gore, this isn't it. If you like constant running and screaming, this isn't it either. Sometimes, family movies are more intriguing, when they fight. We have a couple members being bullies and the bullied just take it. No response, jab back, or emotional response. In most cases people don't take insults and not be be impacted at all, even in private. It was very one sided, making it lackluster and somewhat boring.
When the truth was revealed, no question of morality came up to at least make the reasoning believable or create depth. Hopefully, someone will redo this film and do it better. Acting was on point for most of them, the mansion was big and semi creepy, the cinematography was great making use of shadows without the fun being too dark, and the pacing was perfect. This is a perfect scary movie for people who are afraid of their shadow and the dark. For everyone else...it's watchable if you have nothing else to watch.

The first season had a lot of stupid parts. The characters were annoying especially Nynaeve. I actually hate her character more now. She is arrogant, with great power but can't use it and refuses to learn. She's a wisdom without wisdom. She has shown the least growth and her connection with Lan doesn't make sense and is sudden. I watched all 3 seasons because I wanted to watch something Fantasy. It seems fantasy movies aren't as common as action, so series it is. I haven't read the books, it's possible the books are more cohesive and explain more.
Season 2, was disjointed and felt like random pieces put together. It wasn't coherent but they did it in a way to leave cliff hangers so you'd want to know more. There was another random relationship that doesn't make sense but I'll digress. This season had the best ending despite its flaws.
The 3rd season is also disjointed, it looked as if they put futuristic elements in the past. Moraine wears a hat that didn't seem to fit. I couldn't stop staring at the hat, wondering, why is it there? Also her outfits was beautiful but seemed more 21st century. It also seems as if Rand didn't grow. Egwan is the only character that has grown in multiple ways, you can see her growth, but she is seen less in season 3. She also suffered the most but it doesn't make sense why.
Based on what I've gathered, the show suffers from cohesiveness because the book elements are intertwined with the creators imagination. It's clear, they aren't meant to be. Maybe the creator wanted to make a fantasy show but didn't think they'd be successful, so they used Wheel of Time. They threw in some book elements in their story, creating a hodge podge of stuff. It's always best to keep book elements as close to the source material as possible, making small necessary changes. Every time creators mess too much with the source material it doesn't translate well on-screen. This could've been the next Game of Thrones or Harry Potter but it's not. It's watchable and it's entertaining but it's not great. I'll finish it off, so I know what happens...if they have a 4th season. I can only hope if they do, they improve the characters, with all the suffering they should be wiser, stronger, and less impulsive. Also, the random relationships need to stop. Maybe the writers should watch Korean dramas to understand how to build relationships over time.
This show is perfect for non picky, non overthinking people, who just want to be entertained even if it lacks cohesiveness. Perfect for families that aren't engaged. I enjoyed the show more when I was playing games on my phone.

The Magic Flute is listed as adventure, musical, and fantasy. While they have dialogue, this is more an opera than a musical, because the singing was often done solo, with limited movement and no dance routine. Unlike Hairspray, Les Misérables, or West Side Story, the characters are stagnant while singing...creating a feeling of disjointedness in the film. The characters are in action, and then stop, to sing, then they start to move. The songs are not embedded in the movie as a musical is, they feel as if they can be left out. Sometimes it helps if one character is singing while immobile, the movie shows the other character doing things, giving a feeling of forward movement.
First, I went into the film without information. I saw a PG13 film in the fantasy category that looked like it would be light (more Harry Potter, less Lord of the Rings). I didn't know it was a "musical", and unpleasantly surprised. I love musicals, but not this one. This two-hour film, felt longer. After 20 minutes, I saw the film rating of 5.6 and realized I made a mistake. I still watched it, because I read it was a film version of Mozart's Magic Flute. I used to play piano and he was one of my favorites. While I am far removed from classical music, opera, and anything symphony, I have enough appreciation to tolerate it and well...this film had almost all the elements to make it a great movie, except the pacing and character development.
What fascinates me is the Queen of the Night has the best two songs, the first is appealing, because her flowy dress comes alive and fills the screen. The second song, which was an amazing song I've heard before, bored me, because the scene was lackluster. I am sure people who love opera or the Magic Flute, will like the movie. However, regular smegular people as myself, will find it too long, boring at times, and disjointed. It is hard to believe the characters could potentially love each other, when they hardly speak or engage. Almost all the singing voices sounded the same, and the lack of raw emotion, that classical opera singers have, didn't help. The CGI was sufficient, the acting was good enough, the chemistry was so-so, and the scenery was gorgeous. Austria looked beautiful and the film took advantage of the scenery. I doubt this movie could hold the attention span of most people, especially teenagers, which I feel the movie was trying to target. In all, while I agree with the overall rating of 5.6, I give it a 6.5 since it has immense potential to be magnificent. This is a great initial film interpretation and I believe it can improve.
