Ambulance (2022)

Pros/Cons and Michael Bay

Pros: 5% which chiefly sums up cinematography and that's it.

Cons: the rest of the 95% such as

• ZERO storyline
• ridiculous dialogues, lame jokes, superfluous patriotisms here and there
• very average performance from all the actors
• scenes of stupidity where even stupid things rise to unreal heights of nonsense***
• directing or in other words: all that much worth little Michael Bay did add to this expensive junk of a motion picture mess
• pretentious and swift editing which tries to boost the tension and constantly drops the viewer into a mosh pit of chaos - no, not in a good way...

***I have a dear friend who's a great person I love him and all but he is very simple and often stupid (and doing stupid things). We watched it together (at least tried but I couldn't do it without 'keep-my-sanity' breaks) and he said it's one of the worst movie he has ever seen. Congratz Michael Bay, you've just failed your target audience (again).

I think it's time for Michael Bay to retire once and for all. There is family, friends, money and life to enjoy - please stop making movies, normal human beings entertainment time worth more than this and our unhealthy world needs more added value than this side product.

Be in a cozy environment on a comfy sofa but certainly alone, if possible (to avoid making any other being aware that you are about to watch this).

Then:

• Forget the world as you know.

• Forget physics (especially what you know or experienced about gravity).

• Forget what you know about our solar system.

• Forget space travel and all that.

• Forget causality and.... well... just forget science, philosophy and all that nonsense which would just raise questions along the way...

• Forget what you know about acting/directing/editing/etc. - you know... that thing called filmmaking...

• Forget life.

Once you are completely braindead and you have peace in your soul (because your total IQ just reached the unicellular level) try to forget all the above once again. Now you are ready to enjoy this product not to be assessed.

As a fan of the genre, this badly written and illogical series (actions/character decisions etc.) is a huge disappointment. Sometimes it's cheap, sometimes it starts to show some light by creating an exciting situation then a minute later it ruins it like an impatient child and goes into back to the pit of 'wth did I just see again?'. It's almost as bad as many seasons of TWD :( Still, if you're hungry for a recent good one in the genre, go for Kingdom, or straight to movies like Train to Busan or Cargo. Or WWZ. At least these have originality and show typical zombie stuff on a decent level (which Black Summer will never ever deliver).

Is it good or bad?

I've just put together my observations of pros and cons. FYI I'm not comparing it to Walking Dead. I just list what it was and why exactly was this a below average series - unfortunately!

Pros:

• Side characters are okay, lead characters are interesting
• Camerawork, lightning, environment - good work!
• Chasing scenes are entertaining and suspenseful

Cons:

• Biggest con: the entire thing feels cliché which is dramaless, cheap and mediocre
• Filled with baaad production elements: same prop cars in different scenes, recurring sterile locations, fake weapon muzzles etc.
• The whole script is stupid and lots of unreal scenarios
• Character decisions and what follows...Oh god...
• Some dialogues are outrageously weak, writers were not the sharpest tools in the kitchen :(
• Negative characters' motivations are NEVER explained, they just turned bad for whatever reason and what they do is against any logic
• The tough guy is skilled in self defense and gunfighting but he turns to be novice in both later - Why???
• We all get that this plays in the US where people are having guns and many people can use guns (but not every citizen). BUT! These characters are lame in melee fighting but when they find guns, turns out they all are master level gunfighting citizens - far out...
• Couple of locations we see are just don't feel right, e.g. the party place (not a spoiler)...What was that and how the heck can that place exist under these circumstances for crying out loud???
• The endgame, the hard thing which has to happen right before the end to get to the goal... hehe, it felt like a bunch of idiots were running upside down and shooting like freaks - worst scene in the series!

Summa sumarum: It had its moments and I really wanted to like it, I've enjoyed the first episode but then the tihs hits the fan, shows major quality drops from time to time and viewer's attention is lost. Then laughing and headscratching starts.

Anti Matter (2016)

I'm not writing any serious stuff here just what I felt about the twist and everything. Well, I'm already spent big part of my life watching movies, lately I saw nice movies, okayish movies and the 'whatever ones'. But this thing, although it's probably not the best movie I ever saw (no offense), this piece is already something. You were doing short movies, then this, and Sir, you just made it, twisted my head, gave me bad feelings and a warm surprise which I haven't felt some time ago - you put a real shining star up in the sky.

I don't know how soon you some smart Hollywood producer will give you a buzz but I may predict right here that someone want to do a bigger budget movie out of this; I'm pretty sure.

Great story, great job, great cinematography, little cracks in the story telling but nothing seriously negative. Do you realize that you are not a student anymore, right? As you got me, I'll keep an eye out for your movies and I can recommend this to anyone who's reading this.

One more thing: Yaiza is so cool and did such a decent acting! OF course, Tom and Philippa too but Yaiza was just wooow. So overall verdict for me is an 8 which is more like 9ish but surprise factor is 10.

Breaking Bad (2008–2013)

Best Show So Far...

The third season has came to end, and all I can say, this is the best I saw so far! The only show I watched beside Breaking Bad and had such a crushing storyline was Lost - but they messed it up ... Anyway, I can hardly wait the 4th season to start, till now it has wonderful characteristics with magnificent acting, great storyline, outstanding photography and a good direction. Recommended to everybody, who'd like to watch an exciting, animated show, with lifelike and rough-and-ready situations and turns.

The only reason I give a 9 out of 10, because this is not yet completed, not yet a finished story, but as the time passes, it gets closer and closer to it...

Outstanding show.

Blade Runner (1982)

Still (one of) the BEST?

Mainly, I wrote this review to share couple of things with people who may haven't see this so far...this is a review written by personal feelings and emotions :) 1. First of all, no other like this. My opinion: the BEST.

2. It has magnificent music, atmosphere and design. Listen to the musical genius of Vangelis while watching the picture = breathtaking. The cyberpunk design is timeless, sometimes I wish less cg nowadays and more creative solutions as in this brilliant movie.

3. All actors are great (just a couple of uncompleted moments in acting, but nothing serious) 4. There are such a good views and ideas in it; stunning what pictures and atmospheres were created by Ridley Scott using water. But this is just the beginning:) 5. After 15 mins of watching, if you fed it up, turn off your TV set, grab the DVD, and throw it away - this isn't made for you (shame). There are 3 kind of people: who loves it, who hates it and who better says nothing, just reward Scott's name with a good vote.

Finally, I gave 10/10 for it but I falled in love since I'm 12 and watched about 20 times...actually it's 9/10 with it's small "unperfections". Anyway, never created such a sci-fi/thriller masterpiece. All other movies in this genre are behind this.

Is this movie a joke...?!

This comedy is a real crap (or joke)...boring, too long, things aren't happening and the story is bad...actually the unity of action (byplot etc.) is nothing...most of the scenes are too artistic - for example - people never engage in conversation each other like we seen in this picture. The director's approach is old-line and it leaves a mark of this movie. Positive thing what the cameramen did (as they shot the film, settings), but the soundtrack is uncritical. A few songs were sang by the actors - anyway, they are actors not singers so the whole thing is a mess from the beginning to the end. This movie shows the present state of the small hungarian cinematography. There are films like "Kontroll" which are so good that non-hungarian people can enjoy too, but for this..this is a tall order. I hope, hungarian people in cinemas will amuse themselves - I'm not sure they will be glad.
