Acting and storyline very well done except for ending. Film shows chamberlain face down being shot. Official report states he went after officers with a knife. That should have been detailed for accuracy. In watching the movie it was clear to me that the narrative that he was killed because he was black was false. If he was white it would have been the same result. Except that the police would have busted down the door sooner. They delayed their entry because he was black. In the movie the police did not allow relatives to intervene. That was criminal on their part if true. Interesting propaganda movie. The knife shown in the movie was about 1/3 the size of the actual knife he used per the ending credits!!! An inconvenient fact. His death was the end of the movie. They should have shown the inquiry that followed. I didn't believe the ending. More info was needed but you don t get that in a propaganda movie.

I could only bear to watch the first 22 minutes! Complete garbage!. It featured the weightlifting competition which I was interested in. It started off saying the flyweight competition and then shows super heavyweights!! It showed only partial pictures of the lefts and never identified the lifters!!! No idea of the amount they were lifting or anything else. Absolute garbage!!. The first 5 minutes consisted of a montage of clips that made no sense or had any continuity. I has a suspicion that the film was not going to get better and I was right. I do not believe that I missed anything after the debacle of the weightlifting segment.

Story about a substitute teacher who does not want to become a regular teacher because??? he does nt want close attachments to his students!!! well every substitute teacher wants to be a regular teacher !! i was both and as a substitute teacher very little teaching is done and the pay is far less. the whole premise of the movies is ridiculous! i could go into more detail but why waste my time and yours.if you want to concentrate on the acting etc and leave your brain home then you will enjoy the performances.

Some fine acting in Wilde s fine play but also some stupidities. Ed Fox and son Freddie are excellent.the rest of the cast is excellent with two glaring exceptions.First they cast a young black girl as the SISTER of Lord Chiltern !! She is just a so so actress,not that engaging or beautiful and a complete distraction as it is absurd that the lord has a black sister!! that Lord Goring loves her is not believable.Stupid miscasting for what? diversity? Even more absurd is having Mrs. Cheveley being Lord Goring ex lover!! she looked 55 while he was 24!!! Actually her actual age is 60! and while he is 29 ,i think ,he does look younger like 24.Absurd miscasting. Now, she acted very well but? the age difference made their scenes together not believable.

Since this is the only movie about the great one! it will have to do until a better movie is made. Garrett was excellent as Gleason but the inaccuracies were terrible. and the movie was filmed in Canada! no scenes of NYC!!! I hate movies that lie about the past;makes no historical sense as this one. in the movie Jackie is fired after 5 days on the Navy Blues Movie set!! not true. he made the movie and others for Warner!! why this lie!!!? and he proposed to his wife at the table she was with at the time of his show not following her home to her apt etc! Stupid lies that added nothing to his life but lies!!

A very shallow film about rape and mutilation without any understanding and detail on the causes.interviews of various women go back and forth in a poorly organized way, disjointed way etc.In Rwanda for instance, what were the causes of the war and hatred? you ll never know from this film. the women were raped ,terrible for sure. what happened to the men? Oh, they were killed! what can be done to prevent rape in war? really!!! how about what can be done to prevent war! if these "soldiers", fighters treated both men and women the same there would have been no rapes, they would have just killed them all. the question is WAR. and how to stop it. never talked about in this film.

Very good movie about true events in the 50s and 60s. while it showcases the racism of the period it shows that resourceful people can still succeed no matter what color. acting was fine esp Jackson who stole every scene he was in being so charismatic. it seems that every reviewer that i read didn t understand the movie. perhaps the movie producer wanted it that way. all three protagonists were guilty of bank fraud. perhaps they didnt understand the law? or they just were greedy? a 187k commission on a 971k loan!!! all three should have gone to jail but one got an immunity deal and took it.but he transferred money to the other two so for three years in jail they got homes in the Bahamas.not a bad deal. that also was illegal. still a very good watch.

Seeing the movie and then reading about the actual events was a stark contrast.exaggeration after exaggeration was in the movie. I really hate that! Why can t the story be truthful to the facts! It would still be a powerful story because it was factual. The movie as made is false in many ways which i will refrain from detailing except for one point which is the current prosecutor immediately recognized the injustice and did not pursue a retrial. a very interesting story of a true case with false dialogue and inaccuracies. this is what Hollywood does too often. I suppose one more point ,his alibi about being at a fish fry was not something new as presented in the movie but was in his trial and rejected. why can t they make a movie based on the facts!!!

I worked in Asbury Park a few blocks away from most of the scenes. at lunch time and after work and evenings I watched some of the scenes being filmed. What a great experience.Difficult to see the stars. I saw O Rourke a few time from a half block away. he had his own trailer. One experience Ill never forget was walking down Cookman Ave and seeing this actor walking towards me. Who was he? A girl asked for his autograph and he happily complied. then he walked past me and as I was still trying to remember his name he said "hi" to me and I said 'HI". The next next day the local paper which was reporting the filming every day supplied the answer.Christopher Walken!! Nice guy. One evening I watched the car scene down Cookman with the robbers disguised as orthodox Jews. and the car went by over and over for about an hour! kind of boring after awhile. no stars were there either. Couldn t wait to see the movie but it never really came out. a very limited release. took me a few years to find it on tv and buy the VHS tape! I thought it was a great film but very bleak and depressing. acting was superb and location was where I worked every day so it was a fantastic viewing. For over a month I walked around the various locations where they were filming,all the places I knew. So I give it a ten for all these reasons. If i didn't see the filming I would say a 7.

I thought this film was about Mr Rodgers but it is more about a magazine writer whose life was changed by interviewing Mr Rodgers. As such it is still a very good film but I would have hesitated seeing it so quickly if I had known that. They wanted people to go see Hanks when another actor is more prominently featured. Misleading,Deceitful. Still a very good film of a real life incident.

Movie has two great actors and starts out fine. very interesting and suspenseful.somewhat hard to believe in the subway killing and swindle. did he really think he could stay in London and not get found out? somewhat stupid!. but the ending is what made this movie ridiculous,absolutely stupid and absurd.the writing at the end was pure drivel.a high school freshman could do better.one good thing is that i will never want to watch this movie again.the convoluted ending was irrational and completely unbelievable.
