Iron Sky (2012)
Brave new world with a twist
I saw this movie during a prescreening tour in Finlad on 22.of march 2012. The actual release date is 4.th of April 2012. Movie is painting in front of our eyes a strange new world where Nazis invented anti-gravity and are developing their culture on the dark side of the moon independently from the state they had it at the end of the second world war.
Ideas and ideologies of the cultures on earth and on the moon have developed differently and have had evolution that makes them differ so much from each other that the conflict can not be avoided - once there happens the first contact between moon people and earthlings. This is not so much a film about laughing to groups of people we recognize from history and are thinking they are laughable because of their past than a movie that makes us consider what really is the enemy of us, who is innocent and who is bad -mostly because of blinded by the power.
The world in 2018 in this movie is very rich in details both on earth and on the dark side of the moon. One can not recognize by one viewing only all the details that are put on the scenes, being them visual or audible or devices or cultural artifacts.
The sound-score of the film is very opera-like, swinging the audience from the light moments to the Wagnerian dark tunes when the films story goes to it's darker levels. Storytelling at it's best.
After first swallowing the idea of the anti-gravity and other scifi -world peculiarities in this film, it is of course only natural to see brilliant space battles and wonderful spaceships of different nationalities. And one must swallow that world in the first minutes of the film.
I can recommend this film to all the people who have seen 2001 Space Odysseu, Clockwork Orange, Starwars -films, Blade Runner, Matrix etc. To make it clear that this is purely a genre film of that sort. Film does not take itself too seriously, it is very entertaining and fun to watch. I had no dull moments during the show. Well done!

Old style of storytelling is not forgotten
In a time where everything is so hectic it is good to see a proper film that is done in a way the films were done in the era of silent movies. The scene shootings are long, much appreciation is paid on lights on the faces of the actors...did I mention this is also black&white film.
Music and nature breathe, story goes on, the audience of this film is trilled by the skills of the director and cameraman. This film is a fresh breeze of something that many have forgotten in storytelling and movie-making among action-loaded movie-scenes that fills the screens and displays these days.
This movie is something quite different. My recommendations.
