Rabb Da Radio (2017)
More than expectation
Great sets, and super attention to detail. The movie is setup somewhere in the early 70s. Cars and Bikes used from the era. Very nice story, that used to happen in the Punjabi families and in fact still happens at times. Simi Chahal looks cute in the role and does complete justice. But I was surprised, that Mandy Takhar could pull such a role off, as I have never seen her in an era movie. Hats off to her The looks and costumes of actor were pretty apt too. Kudos to the team of the film
Manje Bistre (2017)
The name of movie is overrated
Without getting too much into the movie without spoiler, its hard to write a review. But let me try, the movie has a pretty weak story line as there is nothing special about it. It tries to go on the lines of Chakk de fattey, Carry on Jatta, to create a confusion, but as per me fails to impress.
There are instances where jokes are pretty double-meaning, and you get to think if its worth watching with your mother sitting by your side.
Apart from the story, the screenplay lags at times. The set basically consists of House, A tractor and a Bullet motorcycle. They tried set it up in older time period, but its hard to relate when you see sets in movies like Angrez and Rabb da radio.
However, there were bits n pieces of funny scenes, but nothing out of the ordinary. I was hoping the drama piece would be good. I wish Gippy starts making more movies on the lines of Ardaas. Comedy works, but only to a point.
