Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Subspace Rhapsody (2023)
Bravo!!
One of the best parts of all Trek series is character development. Even though SNW is episodic, the character arcs are deep and satisfying. This episode continues and deepens the stories and background of several crew members while using an unusual method... song.
With a Tony winner, a published recording artist, and multiple trained vocalists in the cast, Star Trek finally figured out a way to show off the talent. Additionally, the song writing is first rate.
I found the episode to be amusing, informative, and enjoyable. Anyone who, like me, loves musical theater and Star Trek will find this an episode not to be missed.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Good story, acting, production and nostalgia
It's both familiar, building on Trek canon, and fun by adding new characters and story lines. There are Easter eggs everywhere. Trek fans will want to watch multiple times.
Annie Live! (2021)
Talent wins
I love Broadway. The talent level is always inspiring. "Annie" is no different. The cast is fantastic, especially the kids. Overall production quality is high. Well worth watching.
Treadstone (2019)
Hard to follow
There are elements of the Bourne story lines but for the most part this stands on its own. There are four and five simultaneous stories going on in two different time frames and multiple languages. I would prefer an individual episode focus more on one or two of the story lines to let the viewer become more invested in the characters. I'm four episodes in and trying to decide if I invest more time in the series.
