The Adventure Game (1980–1986)
10/10
David Lynch does Crystal Maze

This show always stuck in my memory when I originally watched it as a young lad. The bizarre characters that sprung from some weird imagination would leave a scar on any young persons mind - a guy talking sdrawkcab, a shaking aspadistra, a challenging salamander & an invisible vortex - The Adventure Game was like nothing else on tv at that time. Minor celebs trying to solve problems in what was technically a series of 'escape rooms'. This show certainly predicted the future. It was also a great inspiration for me as I went on to design games for its offspring show, The Crystal Maze !!!

Adam doesn't ruin this !!!
30 December 2021
Filmed at the same studios as the U. K. version -The BottleYard Studios in Bristol - this U. S. version is fantastic. Maze Master Adam Conover goes back to the O'Brien & Tudorpole era by bringing the maze to life with funny tales & historic stories. Something U. K. host Ayoade very rarely did. The games themselves were slightly amended versions of the U. K. ones, with 2 from the old Medieval Zone rehashed for Eastern Zone. The only let-down was this version having only 8 games per episode, when we all really wanted more. Family's played in this version instead of 'celebrities'...the majority of British episode teams. Another amendment was the prize of not just a winners crystal each, but also a cash prize- depending on the end amount of gold tokens collected. Adam guides the teams through the four zones with a laugh, smile & a sometimes 'not care attitude'....whilst wearing some of the most fantastic outfits ever. All in all a brilliant version of a classic tv show. Fingers crossed Nickelodeon build a new set in the States & we get a second series with him. 10 out of 10.

Cars 3 (2017)

Worst Cars film to date
18 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this at the cinema with 2 friends- 1 walked out,the other fell asleep. After the public complaints of Cars 2 (actually my favourite),Pixar decided to go back to the racing scenes of Cars 1......but overdid it. There's at least 5 different 'training scenes'- tyre-some after the first & a boring storyline that plods along. The writers decided to use old vocal sessions of Paul Newman & write parts of the story around that.... Which is very limiting & it shows. I felt the ending 'swap' was a bit of a cop-out. Although in real life this can be done but where the cars are the actual character-I'm not sure ?!?

If you don't have a brain & just want to see another Cars 1- this film is perfect for you. If you're intelligent & need a deeper plot line, watch Cars 2 again.....with a more open mind.

CARry on spying !!
18 November 2018
My favourite out of the 3 Cars movies. C1 was okay for little ones & race fans...C3 however was boring & repetitive. (I went to see C3 with friends- one went out halfway for a (long) cigarette, the other fell asleep). Cars 2 was reminiscent of a James Bond film with espionage & gadgets galore. The graphics were superb- from the opening sea & oil rigs to the bright lights of Tokyo- beautifully done. Maybe this was too character intricate & fast paced for most people !!!
