Dune (2021)

Just add spice.

Its always difficult to capture an epic novel on screen especially when you're talking about Dune. This is certainly is a great improvement on the original due to the availability of CGI. While its a slow burn and only goes part way into the novel it does explian some of the intricacies of the book so lays down a base for future episodes. I will look forward to the next installment as I enjoyed sitting through the 2 1/2 hours of this movie.

Mr. Church (2016)

A graceful performance

This film highlights the depth of Eddy's acting talent. I found his casting in this movie interesting but was pleasently surprised with his performance. A tale of friendship and finding belonging, and of life and death. While it moved slowly at no time did I loose interest in the interaction of the characters and the story. It was good to see a movie that did not rely on special effects, language etc but just good acting.

The Unforgivable (2021)

Solid story with a twist

Sandra Bullock plays the part with aplomb and i was drawn into the character and her stuggle with acceptance and forgiveness. An emotional rollercoaster.

While it contains some cliche scenes they don't distract from a very moving story of ones mans heroism and the struggle return veterans face after the horrors of wars and the impact it has on family and friends.

After the Wedding (2019)

Slow burn

A complex story which tends to meander along while keeping your attention and is a little predicable. Well acted.
