The Devil All the Time (2020)
More like a journey.
This movie is like a journey, with beautifully written and acted characters.
I have rarely seen a movie where all the characters have done justice to their role, this is one such movie.
Highly recommended.
Sabaha (2019)
Keeps the suspense till the end over smarts your intution
The core of the movie lies in history of buddhism with references to evil spirits who in turn kill other evil spirits to save lord buddha. This forms the bottomline of the movie where the story revolves around re creating thus history in modern times.
Actors have done a commendable job and the story is well written which keeps you glued till the very end. While watching the movie your intuition will kick in and you will think you have the story covered but the writer over smarts by giving sharp unexpected turns.
Only reason i could have find people rating it less maybe reading the subtitles for non korean speaking audience like me. Otherwise its a gem of a movie and a must watch.
Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side (2020)
Well explained, gripping thriller.
There is a lot of mystery around our Indian culture, this series makes good use of that fact.
Movies like Tumbadd have opened a new genre which will bring out even more good content over the years.
Many layers are slowly unwrapped as the story moves back and forth about the main protagonist.
Its your initial upbringing which brings the good and bad in you , you become not what you are but what you are told over and over again as it happens with the lead character.
There are a lot if twist and turns in the series but everything is well explained. Though the ending is a little ambiguous.
Its good to see Indian web series are making such good content unlike the crap that comes on tv.
The Gentlemen (2019)
Being very generous with the rating considering the rarity of good movies made nowadays
This movie is more like a journey, an experience which you go through in reverse.
This movies boosts of well scripted characters which play small but vital roles in the movie.
All the actors have done justice to their roles Mathew is intense as usual. Movie will keep you glued to the screen as the the twists and turns of the movie unfolds.
Must watch highly recommended.
Panchayat (2020)
Glimpse of rural India.
Show reflects upon the slow, simple lifestyle of rural India. All characters have done very realistic acting.
The grass is always greener on the other side, the protagonists also feels the same with him yearning to work in an MNC and leave the job he has in the village.
It is his daily struggles in the village that makes up the whole series.
If you are already living this liefstyle and are from rural India it wont attract you that much but for people in urban India or for NRIs this show is gold.
Underwater (2020)
Sci fi thriller where the mystery keeps on growing
One of the best sci fi thrillers which i have seen recently. This movie is in layers where when each layer unravels new mystery unfolds.
Movie is action packed right from the start. Fast paced and gripping. Kristen Stewart with her blank face and i am always sad look is ideal to play this role.
I like movies where everything is shown and not left on the audience to work things over and this is one such movie.
Highly recommended.
Dongnesaramdeul (2018)
Fails to impress.
Not much of a mystery, pretty predictable story. Usually korean thriller movies add huge amount of suspense but this one was pretty blunt.
