Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Star Trek goes Beyond Excellence
Enjoyed the interaction & humor between Spock & McCoy; Kirk & Chekov. Love the opening scene with the gargoyles. Simon Pegg did a great job writing the screen play. Karl Urban as McCoy really shines in his role & is my favorite character in the new series. This one has more playful moments & that makes the movie the best one after Star Trek IV. Good plot, nasty villain & interesting planet people. Some great scenes with old star ships & previous crew. Fantastic movie, hope there is more to come.
Love in Paradise (2016)
Luke is Fantastic
Gorgeous location, beautiful horses, story moved along at a good pace. This is one of the best movies I've seen on Hallmark. Luke Perry is a great actor, he was so naturally funny that you really like him. I would love to see more movies with him. I didn't realize he was so accomplished but now I will search for other movies with him.
And Matt Frewer is always a wonderful bonus - he is the reason I decided to watch it - and then I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
What's the Matter with Helen? (1971)
Great Dancing by Debbie
Love this movie. Debbie is gorgeous & her dancing is superb. Dennis Weaver is a suave & debonair as her boyfriend. Shelley Winters is perfect as the unstable Helen with her peculiarities. It moves along fast with some nice spooky scenes & moody characters. Great locations & atmosphere. Wonderful story & actors. I saw it on TCM & taped it so I can watch it again.
Profile for Murder (2013)
Moves along fast, kept to the plot
Good Movie. Moves along fast, not a lot of filler, sticks to the plot. Nicki Aycox plays a no nonsense ex-detective who goes after a killer that has escaped from prison and returns to threaten her. Steve Bacic is a wonderful actor who also has the role of Lori Laughlin's husband in the Garage Sale Mysteries. This is a better role for him. He portrays a detective who helps Jackie (Nicki) with her mission. They are both great in this movie. Kept my interest, much better than some of the other soap opera types that have all the family drama gibberish. I like a movie that keeps the story moving, not a lot of extra suppositions about "what might have happened..." I watched it On Demand without commercials so it wasn't chopped up. This movie kept my attention & I enjoyed watching it.
