The Seance (2021)
Interview with a medium
Oh my Gosh. I can handle bad movies. I watch a lot of them. But this is one of the worst I've ever seen. There's 5 minutes of seance and 75 minutes of very annoying character interviewing a medium.
Blood Red Sky (2021)
Action packed
One of the best monster movies I've seen in a long time.
Cosmos (2019)
Cosmos
The whole movie takes place within the confines of a car but for those of us who are really into movies related to first contact, the setting fits. The suspense builds slowly, but give it a chance and enjoy the ending.
Voces (2020)
Worth reading the subtitles!
I normally steer clear of foreign language movies because I tend to watch movies while doing other things so I can't read along. Well this movie had me reading along! Well acted, creepy, suspenseful... it's been a long time since my heart raced during a scary movie. This one made it happen.
Watch the Sky (2017)
Great potential but...
Started like an ok alien movie. I enjoyed the brothers' adventures and the sweetness of their bond. I love any alien movie and was getting into this one, then... The movie ended with no resolution to any of the plot threads. Disappointed at lost potential.
Extinction (2014)
Who knows what lives deep in the jungle
I liked the environmentalist angle of the group. The cameraman constantly talking was rather annoying, but overall following the group's trek to find the ecological consequences of human encroachment in the jungle was interesting to watch. The build up to what was living there was cool. After the predator attacks, the movie is not as interesting to me but Overall the movie was ok. It is a lot better than other similar movies I've found on streaming.
Stag Hunt (2015)
Worth it!
I expected a B grade monster flick. What I got was a great buddy movie filled with very funny dialogue and one- liners mixed in with action, comraderie, and a creature to liven the hiking trip these men take together. The actors in this were wonderful and played off each other well. They were very believable as a group of friends coming together for fun and bonding and then having to deal with "the creature" together. I was very pleasantly surprised by what a gem this turned out to be.
Gorenos (2016)
Better acting than many of this type of movie
Go into it knowing it's a generic type low budget horror movie,
but it has aspects that are refreshingly different: African American main characters, funny dialogue, and better acting than a lot of B movies. I enjoyed it, especially the interaction of the 2 best friends and their acknowledgement of horror tropes.
