Eradication (2022)
A good film but it hasn't met all of its potential...
This film has so much potential. It has a nice plot but it could have given more. It's a bit slow until the mid/late part of the movie.
I am sure if Hollywood got a hold of it, it would be a grade-A movie but, sadly, it has fallen short.
After Effect (2012)
Parental Guide
Sex and nudity: A brief sex scene with movement. A woman is nude, breasts are shown. No other nudity is shown. Profanity: Lots of f-bombs, several uses of the Son's name in vain and The Lord's name in vain. Blood and gore: Extreme blood usage and moderate gore. Several people are shot. Intense and frightening scenes: Not a lot. It is a zombie movie after all.
Christ Alone (2014)
Interesting documentary. Should does explain a lot too
I enjoyed this documentary. It truly opens your eyes to the many tactics of the devil and his many ways of leading the children of God astray.
Although some may deem this pure conspiracy theory, it does explain the many health issues we face today and why our government doesn't seem to be doing anything about inflation and other financial issues.
This documentary covers many other "conspiracy theories" that we encounter today in our way.
The Reef: Stalked (2022)
Parental Guide
Sex & Nudity: No scenes or nudity. Five women in bikinis, so cleavage is shown but not in a sexual way. Profanity: 10+ uses of the Lord's name in vain. 10+ varies of the f-word and 3 or so uses of crap. Blood & Gore: mild levels of blood. Nothing graphic is really shown. Very mild for a shark film. Intense & Frightening: A woman is in a domestic abusive relationship. A bruise is seen on her arm. Within the first opening scenes, the victim is murdered by her abuser.
William (2019)
A fascinating film...
A fascinating film. It does leave you with a new perspective of "what if". It seems that most were confused or let down by the ending, however, I empathise and sympathise with William. Being the odd one or being forced into places that aren't meant for you can be rather distressing. The ending was a fine touch on how he was feeling inside.
Overall, great film. It surely does leave a lot of questions and an opening for a possible sequel.
Rapture (2019)
Parental Guide:
Profanity: 9 uses of the Lord's name in vain. A man is seen smoking a cigarette. Sexual content: No nudity or sex scenes. Blood and gore: People are struck by lighting, buried bodies, boils, open wounds.
Heaven (2020)
Parental guide
Sex scene/nudity: None
Profanity: One "oh g-d" (mentioned in vain)
One or two "oh my g-d) (mentioned in vain)
Drug/alcohol usage: None
Scary/intense scenes: No scary scenes. Intense/sad scene when a woman is dying of cancer. An abortion is mentioned, nothing shown.
Prospect (2018)
Excellent graphics but a poor story
The graphics were fantastic but it felt like there was hardly a story being told. There's no backstory (which is vital to any story being told) and barely an understandable reason as to why they (the father and daughter) are where they are. I felt like a lot was missing within this film.
The acting was great but the young female could of done better. I was getting Kristen Stewart vibes from the young actress.
O Filho do Homem (2019)
A well made film. - Parental guide included-
Parent guide:
Profanity -
Several uses of the word "damned" (not used in a bad way).
Sexual reference -
None. Unless you count Jesus and the two thieves in a loincloth.
Blood, Gore and Violence -
Some scenes can be rather intense to watch, especially with the amount of blood shown during the beating scene and the crucifixion. I would say it's severe and can be hard to watch.
Review -
A well made film. And it's great because a lot of actual bible verses are used throughout the film. The acting is very good and it's a great account of our Messiah's birth, life, death and accession to the Father in haven.
Resurrection (1999)
Not great but not terrible....
Profanity-
None.
Sexual reference-
None.
Blood, Gore & Violence-
Many flashbacks to the death of our Saviour.
Review-
This film is somewhat confusing (for me at least). The plot is OK but there are a few holes here and there. It isn't the most horrible film ever but it isn't the greatest movie ever.
Tempting Christ (2019)
Short but good :)
This short video is excellent to show to youth or at a church meeting. It's short, displays the scenic views of the wildness and shows the three times satan tried (and failed) to tempt Yeshua/Jesus into sin.
The only downside is how short it is and how we never get to hear Jesus rebuke the devil (something I think is vital to the account).
Parent Guide -
Profanity:
None.
Sexual content or Sexual references scenes:
* You see two shots of a woman with a bareback which is shown to the camera (nothing else is seen)
* You see one shot of a woman, side-on, with her hair and arms covering her chest (nothing can be recognized other than her hair and bare skin).
Blood, Gore and Frightening scenes:
* A brief glimpse of two nails and a crown of thorns (not on Jesus)
* Two shots of a snake leaving a skull
* The devil (it may scare younger viewers but it's just a man with make-up on- no CGI).
Investigating the Historical Jesus (2016)
An interesting documentary about our Messiah
This documentary provides the basic information about our Messiah (all of which can be found in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, etc), along with a vocal (mostly by Father Chris Ryan and Father Bart Hutcherson) historical setting of his time upon earth (e.g Roman rule, everyday life, Jewish customs, etc).
You also get to see the historical locations where Yeshua/Jesus lived his life, started his ministry, preached, was betrayed and sentenced to death, and resurrected, etc.
Even if you are a faithful Christian, or just starting out in the faith, I would reckon this documentary as it provides additional details of the time when Jesus was on the earth. You might learn a few things (I surely did).
Parent Guide -
Profanity:
There's mild blasphemy...
* The Lord's name in vain is said once or twice (it can be hard to hear because of the environment)
* "Oh my go$h" is said ten times
Other than that. There's no foul language.
Sexual content or Sexual references:
None. Unless you count the mentioning of how the Romans would crucify their victims naked.
Drug use or Drug references:
None.
Blood, Gore and Frightening scenes:
None. However, there are many scenes where you see Jesus on the cross (mostly in paintings, jewellery and symbols, etc).
The Beyond (2017)
An OK documentary-style film
I wasn't expecting a documentary style-like film. It was OK, not the greatest but not the most disastrous either. The visual effects were great and the plot was good too. This film would be great if some big-shot Hollywood actors, scriptwriters, directors, etc had a say in it. But, overall, it's well done. A good plot, a good script and good acting.
The only downside is how slow the plot unfolds. You only see 'the other side' towards the last half of the film. A lot of it is just building up the pace, and going 'behind the scenes' with the people of the space agency to see how they plan to get a full understanding of "the void".
The Nativity Story (2006)
A beautiful account of the most important birth in history
A wonderful film about the birth of our Messiah.
Everything about the film was well thought out and carried out. Everything from the costume to the acting, even to the CGI of the second temple was beautifully done. Well done to the director, scriptwriter and to the actors and actresses.
This film will definitely be a favourite of mine from now on.
Shalom and Yahweh bless you 🙏🏻
Frozen II (2019)
Slow start but a lovely ending :)
It was kind of slow to start with and somewhat cringe-worthy for adults (but children will love every moment of it).
I loved the visual effects, music, backstories and the ending. It provides so much more detail to Elsa & Anna's parents and what happened to them. It also explains where Elsa got her powers from.
It's a wonderful and meaningful story for young children :)
