1971: Beyond Borders (2017)
A disaster for Mohanlal - Major Ravi films
The movie starts with Indian Army lead by Major Mahadevan (Mohanlal) helping Pakistan Army from the terrorist attack on the same day India celebrating victory above Pakistan. Pakistan Army comes to the celebration of Indian Army after Major Mahadevan invited them. All of sudden, both Army leaders find out that their fathers were related in the previous war and the story has started of previous war.
Mohanlal's dialogue deliveries and inspiration speeches are good. Even Ashutosh Rana has done a great work in a Malayalam movie. But, most of the war scenes shows that Mohanlal has become old to do a war movie. Even history repeats when Major Sahadevn's favorite Lieutenant Chinmay (Allu Sirish) died same as Major Mahadevan's favorite Havildar Jaykumar (Jiva) died in Keerthi Chakra.
This movie was not up to the mark compared to the director Major Ravi's previous Army movies and viewers need to think themselves whether they understood the message of the movie (Pakistanis are not a enemies and nobody want WAR).
The Great Father (2017)
A good suspense thriller runs slowly
It is a suspense thriller movie which discusses a social issue now a days. The story line and cinematography are awesome and the director mainly worked well on the camera movements.
The actors like Mammootty, Sneha, Anikha and Arya has done very wonderful job in the movie. The director has given a lot of care to appearance of Mammootty and Arya (even it is a repeated style for Mammootty - Big B) in the movie.
But from the starting, everyone was just building up the the character of David Nainan (Mammootty) including his daughter where he could not find out the villain is just near to him.Even the director failed to achieve the speed of the story line and testing the patience of viewers by a lot of slow motion shows of David Nainan whether he is in White car or the black beast (Black car).
Totally, The great Father is a strong story line which has appeared as a above average movie due to lack of direction.
Phantom (2015)
It is a good movie
The Director Kabir Khan has done a wonderful job to narrate the movie. The performance of Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif and other co stars have been good. Even though, the director could have done it better if he has kept the flow proper instead of the flashbacks and he could show the father-son relation little more deeply.
The movie starts with a narration about Mumbai attack on 26/11 and the movie shows the approach taken by Indian Govt officials and how politicians managed to avoid it.
This is not a entertainer movie but it will not be a boar as well. The director has tried to involve the realistic situations of terrorism in countries like India, Pakistan and Syria.
As I would say this movie is a must watch for the people who is patriotic.
