Paper Heart (2009)
8/10
It was a delightful surprise, one of my favorite movies of all time!
2 August 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I am a sci-fi, horror and fantasy fan. I did not want to see this movie. I am very happy I did. No spoilers here. Go see it. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It is funny and and touching and very sincere.

In a nutshell: This is a movie (documentary) about a young girl who does not think she is capable of love. She travels the country interviewing people to try and understand love. That is all you need to know. If you are groaning because of the "L" word, ease up. I am a woman and do not like the romantic, chick fliks, I like things to explode and people to get beat up, preferably with martial arts. And I love vampires, zombies and other horrible frightening creatures. And I loved Paper Heart.

If you have prejudged it because of the actors, don't. That is why I did not want to see it. If you think it is simply another Judd Apatow type of film, it isn't.

I think it will appeal to a wide variety of audiences. Check it out, I think you will come out with a smile.

Miami Vice (2006)

Unresolved plot lines, lack of chemistry, very, very bad!
6 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I don't want to reiterate what has already been said. I agree with most posts completely. The plot lines are left unresolved. The sex scenes gratuitous and boring. I saw this with my 17 year old son who I would imagine was part of core demographics the producers were targeting, and he thought it was awful as well. Not even the sex scenes had him looking very interested.

The question I have is one which I've not seen addressed or asked. Is it really believable that the police would let a car exit a crime scene without even attempting to stop it? When Crockett gets into the car with Gong Li's character (can't even recall her name), it doesn't appear that he's given a second glance. There were police around, cars entering the dock, parking lot, wherever it was that they were, and he was simply permitted to leave. No one even looked twice at the car.

I went with high hopes, and they were dashed. I did enjoy the music in the opening rave scene. I liked the boats, and enjoyed very much when the Nazi type was blown away before he got to launch into what I thought was going to be a boring tirade. The woman sitting next to me checked her watch at least a dozen times. This movie was tedious, and far too long.

One of the best series ever!
14 May 2006
I don't want to bore everyone by reiterating what has already been said, but this is one of the best series ever! It was a great shame when it was canceled, and I hope someone will have the good sense to pick it up and begin the series again. The good news is that it is OUT ON DVD!!!! I rushed down to the store and picked up a copy and am happy to say that it is just as good as I remembered it. Gary Cole is a wonderfully dark and creepy character, and all actors were very good. It is a shame that the network did not continue it. Shaun Cassidy, this is a masterpiece. Anyone who enjoys the genre and who has not seen it, must do so. You will not be disappointed. My daughter who was too young to view it when it was on television (she is 20) is becoming very interested, and will soon be a fan. She finds it "very twisted" and has enjoyed the episodes she has seen. I cannot wait to view the episodes which were not aired.

This show rocks!!!!
