The Wilds (2020)
Another entertaining show cancelled
Really great show, diverse and different cast members with their own individuality and stories. They all begin to grow you episode by episode.
Whilst being disappointed there isn't going to be a season 3 (why do they cancel good shows?? ) have to say I skipped parts of season 2. Did not enjoy seeing another group added, luckily their group was separate to the girls so was able to skip their scenes easily until it got to the girls camp again. Why would I be interested In watching season 2 play out again like season 1, was invested in the girls not the new boys group. Hopefully someone picks up season 3, lots of potential there.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
Are you kidding me???
Absolutely brilliant show but not the right ending. What was the purpose of this ending.. to show us the bad and/or rich always win! No that's not true. In reality people get killed for less. The amount of peoples lives the Brydes ruined someone would have exacted revenge or justice. For example the pastor who waved a gun at them but ends up dead himself in reality this wouldn't have happened. One of them should have died by the end to make it seem realistic. What a sinister ending with the byrdes smirking while about to shoot an officer. Well done for turning your son into the devil. They are devil incarcerated.
Ratsasan (2018)
Could have been much better
I must be in the minority but this wasn't a great movie. All the scenes and dialogues felt rushed. One scene swiftly moved to the next scene without full closure. Editing was poor. Why on earth did Christopher target the police officers family. So many girls to choose from and he picks those. The youngster doesn't even fit the profile, no explanations. Dumb ass make up made the movie seem a joke. Give it a pass.
Peppermint (2018)
Solid entertainer
Well what can I say Jennifer garner kicks ass! Jennifer is very convincing in this action packed role. I've seen many fine actresses in fight scenes but they come off looking unbelievable they way they handle themselves and body shape wise just doesn't work. Jennifer was effortless. There really should be a part 2. It's a shame we didn't see more of skid row and I loved ' the angel of the north ' nod.
Jigeum uri hakgyoneun (2022)
Bingeworthy
It's another wild ride from the Koreans definitely worth watching. Will keep you entertained for a weekend. There are some annoying things about characters I wish they could fix then they really would be superb. The lack of emotions and chemistry between the actors. They are great actors but we need to see a range of different emotions and expressions conveyed. For example you rarely see smiles just dead pan expressions.
Wrong Turn (2021)
Awesome horror
This gem of a horror took me by complete surprise. The story gets turned on it's head which made this original. The actors were decent, story was great all the way through to the end. Found myself gripped by not knowing what comes next. The lead did a fantastic job, reminds me of Maria sharopova. Definitely a must watch for horror fans looking for something fresh.
Jiok (2021)
Brilliant binge watch
Very entertaining original story. Shame only 6 episodes. What happened to the detective from the first part of the series? Good to see a female in a strong lead role. Really enjoyed have no idea what is going especially with the ending I mean WTf! Can't wait for S2.
Kastanjemanden (2021)
Must watch show
Totally gripping and edge of your seat danish show, story is great. Excellent acting by Hess and Genz. Was shocked to discover Hess is Martin from the Rain, didn't recognise him until episode 3, totally transformed himself. This is a fast pace show which took me by surprise as we have become so accustomed to slow paced. I really appreciated the fast pace adds to the suspense and keeps you engaged.
Hollington Drive (2021)
Glad I didn't finish this rubbish
I watched the first episode and thought is it just me or was this a load of tripe. It felt so fake really badly acted and the whole thing looked a marketing for new homes. Anyway came on here to see if anyone else shared my sentiments and yes I was not alone. So sorry for those who wasted 4 hours, glad I got out when I did.
The Little Things (2021)
Did not finish
Not a lot of movies out there that I don't finish especially with big names, I switched this off after 50mins. Lazy writing even densel and Rami looked lazy in this one. I'm sorry but Rami Malek didn't look convincing in the role, just weird expressions throughout. Sound track was off everything was off. Give it a pass.
Thalaivi (2021)
Truly captivating
This movie was totally captivating from start to finish the level didn't drop. There was only one known star in the film for me everyone else was unknown to me yet I was gripped all the way. Truly amazing performance from Kangana I was in awe of her performance. She really is a remarkable actress.
Ojing-eo geim: Unsu joeun nal (2021)
Final episode ruined the show
I'm afraid the old man twist I figured out in the first game only man not bothered and with big smile on his face and after players were eliminated by shock deaths he was the first to carry on. There were many hints going forward.
The deaths following all the players re joining didn't have the desired effect as they knew what they were signing upto by returning I mean what did the married couple think would happen?? The main guy shouldn't have been the main guy as we knew he would survive till the end it the show should have instead focused on more main people. I felt sorry for the girl finalist at the end but honestly you can't cry about being in a game that kills you when you came back for seconds.
The Guilty (2021)
Nothing special
I hate movies that are centred around one person and in one room but Jakes a great actor so thought I'd give it a try. It was good in parts and held for a while. I was hoping he'd clock of shift and finally leave the building so we could see a change of scene but it didn't come. Give it a miss and watch The Call with Halle Berry instead much more edge of your seat stuff and more cast and locations used.
Haseen Dillruba (2021)
Original mystery with a little bit of everything
Tappsee seems to have a knack in picking great roles. Every time I see her on screen she plays a totally different character and smashes it each time. When I saw this out I just knew it would be good. This film did not disappoint in-fact exceeded my expectations as it was different to anything I've seen before. I loved the comedy scenes with the mother in law. The acting was superb by all involved and the story telling was brilliant. Original and fresh was totally gripped from start to finish.
The Pact (2021)
Great drama
Great watch, started off slow but once the side story kicked in with the blackmail it picks up pace. Whilst I did work out who the blackmailer was they did a good job in keeping us guessing with the murderer, did not see that coming. Laura Fraser is a fantastic actress and convoys emotion very well. Worth watching.
Forensic (2020)
Poor execution
My first Tamil film and was left disappointed. The acting was wooden at best. The plot had potential but was poorly executed, the timelines were confusing and the forensic analysis was so rushed and unconvincing. Some of the scenes were unbelievable, are we meant to believe that the forensic expert is also an expert in racing cars and fighting! Which sadistic killer would tell his whole life story literally confessing all like that not to mention why would you knowingly get into a car with a killer like that when you have all the evidence beforehand. The logic behind the killings was ridiculous and the movie just tried to be too clever and failed.
Skylines (2020)
So disappointed
This was so boring, had high expectations since beyond skyline was actually pretty good. Beyond skyline had good characters and suspense and this movie lacked it. Had the suspense and story been better they may have got away with but instead just left empty with no feeling.
NOS4A2 (2019)
I enjoyed it
Lots of bad reviews based on comparing the book. I've not read it so can't comment. I thought it was pretty entertaining. Charlie Manx and side kick were very interesting characters. Vic got on my nerves the way she never really appreciated her mom and the way she treated Maggie but she makes up for it in the end. Maggie with tiles was always a scene stealer for me and damn it never showed us where she ended up in the end.
The Drowning (2021)
Daniel was so cute
Omg Daniel has to be the most adorable 14 year old so innocent and doey eyed. How his dad was so strict on him I have no idea. The boy played the role very well. It was silly in parts especially jodie waltzing around the school and conveniently bumping into Daniel each time, but it's not real life it's drama and needs to be entertaining, I really enjoyed it and found myself gripped wanting to know is he or isn't he the missing son.
Safe (2018)
Enjoyable enough
Ok if you can't find anything else to watch, entertaining enough. I'm a huge fan of dexter but for me Michael didn't seem a right fit for this role, not only did his accent not work he wasn't really convincing as a doctor. The show itself had a serious theme yet found myself not being able to take anyone seriously or anything seriously, the Marshalls seemed like a comedy act yet something terrible and just occurred.
Son: The Guest (2018)
Fantastic Korean show
I struggled with the first few episodes, getting used to reading subs, I found it difficult with the poker face expression on the priest but as episodes went by I could see it was all in his eyes. It wasn't long before I was totally gripped by this well crafted Korean show. The actors who played the leads did an excellent job of conveying pain, strength and friendship throughout, considering the priest barely smiled or spoke. Totally mind blowing story with twists and turns. Do Korean shows not show intimacy and romance? Weird how the main leads showed no interest in romantic relationships. Not be missed.
Orange Is the New Black: Here's Where We Get Off (2019)
Wow what a finale!
I really wasn't expecting that, most shows don't know how to end a show, but wow was I impressed tied everything up nicely (except Daya what happened to her). OITNB really pulled it out the bag in the last 10 mins bringing up characters from the past seasons, I don't think I blinked the whole time, smart! Such an amazing ensemble of talented actresses too many to mention but a special mention to Danielle Brooks such an outstanding performance. I really thought the last two episodes were heading for all doom and gloom but i was fooled to think that way. Loved the final twist between Alex and Piper it was only right to end that way. Bravo to a fantastic show.
Ardab Mutiyaran (2019)
Awesome Punjabi movie
Not a big fan of Punjabi movies but since watching guddiya patole quickly became a fan of Sonam Bajwa. This movie is in the same vein. It was light hearted and fun with good comedy elements. These type of roles really suit Sonam, and her dress wardrobe trendy like her.
The Crossing (2018)
Pure entertainment we need this
I can't believe I'm reading this show has been cancelled. Not all shows can have huge ratings, that's the only reason I can think of why it's cancelled. This show was pure escapism and we need shows like this. Not all can be game of thrones of breaking bads. Some people watch shows long after their release such as myself who only came across this yesterday and binged watched all episodes. It has such huge potential to develop this into atleast another 2 seasons. Is this a lot to ask.
The Lie (2018)
Makes you think atleast
It was interesting because it makes you think what would you do in a situation like this but some of the moves were so dumb by the parents I realised quickly I would never do that. There is one thing to protect your kid but another to stitch up somebody else and especially the father. They had what was coming to them in the end, not even letting the poor father speak to the daughter. I'm sure if the tables were turned they'd be doing exactly the same, I really hope human nature is not this evil.
The prank was absolutely ridiculous can only imagine it would last 2 minutes in reality. Still was a good watch with crazy twist.
