Marry Me (2022)
J.Lo brings it (again)
Jennifer Lopez once again shines as the star that she is! She never disappoints! This movie premise seemed like it might be predicatble, and it somewhat is, but still delivers on every level. I have nothing bad to say about this picture.
Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
Horrible waste of time
I suffered through all of the episodes of this bizarre story hoping so much that the conclusion was going to be so brilliant that I would have been glad that I suffered through this series. Unfortunately, the ending was incredibly disappointing. I gave this review one star for the casting director - the actors did a really good job. Too bad the writing was so bad.
Young Rock (2021)
you HAVE to check this out
If you like Dwayne Johnson, you HAVE to check this show out! This is a playful look at Dwayne Johnson's life from a retro respective and guys.... it has SUCH FUN MUSIC - you are going to love this!
Like Father (2018)
Nice Little Film
Don't listen to all of the negativity about this movie! It was a lovely little film and story of a father reconnecting with the daughter that he had long abandoned. Since I was alos abandoned by my father, I really connected to this movie in a way that others might not. Kristen did an amazing job acting as alwaays and I also enjoyed Kelsey Grammar's interpretation of his character. I loved this movie. I only wish I better understood the ending in California!
Otherhood (2019)
I freaking LOVED this movie!
Are you a mom with a son and experiencing even the slightest bit of empty nest syndrome? Worry about your grown son out there in the big bad world? Anxious that you don't hear from him often enough? Hurt that he doesn't reach out more? Then THIS is the movie for you! We have three different types of moms with three different types of sons but they all have the same issue. When the mom's decide to visit their sons in NYC, things start getting complicated, but, in the end ... the mothers prove their value to their sons in spite of their sons knowing they could still use some mom advice. I teared up a lot as I related to so much of this movie.
Yes Day (2021)
YES, this is a great movie for both parents and kids
It is so nice to watch a wholesome movie that is relatable (being parents is a drag) and FUN! I laughed so many times and teared with emotion at several other times during this movie. It is just fun without being ridiculous. Great ending!!! And besides, how can anyone not enjoy Jennifer Garner?!
Almost Christmas (2016)
LOVED this movie!
So fun! I laughed, I cried - the two hallmarks for a great movie in my book! I loved the cast, the set design, the music and the story! There were no awkward scenes in my opinion. I thought the directing and photography were close to perfect. But the story which had multiple characters going through personal growth is the essence of a great movie and we have that here. This will be added to my top five favorite Christmas movies.
Serenity (2019)
From intriguing to weird
This movie had a lot of great qualities .... great cast, amazing acting, great setting and an intriguing premise. Then... it got weird. I can't explain it because I don't fully understand the weird turn it made but once it turned, I was no longer interested or enjoyed this movie. I am disappointed because I thought this was going to be a great thriller with an exciting plot twist that we didn't see coming, instead it was a weird plot twist that was .... well, weird.
First Man (2018)
Worst biopic I've ever seen
From the start of this movie, yes, the opening scene, it had a weird mood and disturbing camera angles (which continued throughout the movie) that I found completely distasteful. It was an extremely choppy movie within scenes and from scene to scene. There was a complete lack of interesting script, scene sets and lackluster acting. Yes, Ryan Gosling couldn't even make this movie worth watching. Hey Mr. Screenwriter, give me some levity or something! Geez. These people did not seem relatable. I do not recall a single character genuinely smiling. If I can't be interested in the story or any of the characters within the first 30 minutes then I know i am watching a bad movie. I fell asleep during it then turned it off - not worth finishing. I am very disappointed in this project but hugely pleased that I did not go to the local movie theater and pay a high price to waste my time. #fridaynightruined
