Wolf Pack (2023)
Watch more than one episode before rating
This show is much much better than a 6.5 rating that it currently has. Did you watch the Teen Wolf TV series and like it, you'll like this. Even created by the same person. Don't get me wrong, completely different plots, but both still good. If you're a fan of the supernatural you'll probably like this.
Do I think this show will win any major awards for acting or writing, no, but I have still enjoyed watching it and am really hoping for a second season and that Paramount+ doesn't go all Netflix on it and chop a good show after the first season.
Now I am writing this portion to get to the required review length. Have a great day!
The Touchstone (2017)
Horrible acting with no storyline
No storyline, bad acting, bad audio, and bad camera work. It is a typical 2010's style teen movie. 20+ year olds trying to act like teens. Trying to be hypersexualized with no real point. There is no nudity if you're wondering. I think the worst part of the movie is when they show what looks to be an almost 30 year old acting like a teen who's smoking, and she has obviously never smoked before. If it seems like this review is now nonsensical it is. I have to get to the minimum character required to post this review even though I summed it up in the first line. So, anyway, I hope you have a great day and find a better movie to watch.
1UP (2022)
Pitch Perfect for Gamers
So as I watched this it had a really familiar feeling as far as the story line. By the end of the movie I figured it out. This is Pitch Perfect for gaming. Plot line for plot line, character for character. Was this movie a 2.9 bad, no. I found it amusing and fun to fill some free time. I don't know that I would recommend it to anyone, but I also would not stop them from watching it. So overall if you want to waste about an hour and a half or so watch it. If you are looking for something to stimulate your mind or make you contemplate the symbolism and deeper meaning of anything this will not do that for you.
Hold the Dark (2018)
Not worth the 2 hours
This movie could have been so much more and so much better, but it fell flat. For those saying to read the book and then re-watch the movie, I watched the movie not knowing there was a book, but I shouldn't have to either. For instance the Harry Potter movies my not have everything the books do, but you still know what is going on and understand it.
Jolt (2021)
It's not a blockbuster hit, but it is amusing
I am thinking that those giving this movie such poor reviews are those that are comparing this to the likes of a Marvel movie, or a Fast & Furious movie. Yeah, its not the best movie ever, but I can think of a lot more ways to spend an hour and a half. Start watching to be entertained and not to compare it to other big screen movies and you will enjoy.
Close Calls (2017)
Things to know about this movie
So, I consider myself a movie buff in general, and am open to all concepts and ideas, but this one has me wondering what I just watched. Below are my takeaways from this "movie".
1. Chose a genre already! In this two hour span I saw the attempts at a horror, slasher, soft core porn, psychedelic thriller, period piece and comedy. It was like they just couldn't figure out what they were going for, or they had multiple writers that couldn't agree on anything so they just did everything.
2. Pick a time period and stick with it. The girl has a cell phone and all kinds of other modern devices, however the phone in her dad's office is an old tabletop rotary phone? He supposedly makes all kinds of money and he has that? It seems far fetched.
3. Pick a story and go. Stop with the hey we have a creepy stalker with a promiscuous teen, then throw grandma in there, don't forget the dad and his girl friend needing a part, but then let's bring in her boyfriend too! Oh yeah, there is the teen boyfriend that looks like he is at least 25, but then let's do away with him. Oops, here is grandma again... Come on there is no continuity in this thing...
4. Having a good looking teen run around in her bra and panties throughout the entire movie would be unnecessary if there was even a hint of a story line. It also seems a little degrading to her and pervish of the writers and director. I guess they were hoping people would continue watching in hopes that they would get to see her naked. (Spoiler, you don't, you see her butt and her boobs with pasties covering the nipples.)
5. Having at least one person that can act would be nice. I mean the girl is the best actor in this film, and calling her an actor is stretching the limits.
6. Remember there needs to be an ending to all of the story lines you started! You cannot write plots and sub plots and not give them some sort of closure.
7. If you are dead set on watching this movie and you are a fan of recreational drugs, try some acid or shrooms, and then watch it. I bet it would be so much better!
Overall, this film had potential in the beginning and lost it pretty quick. I watched all the way through in hopes that there would be some sort of explanation at some point as to what was going on. There was not...
Empty Space (2016)
I wish they had a bigger budget!
After watching this movie, I did some research and found that they only had a budget of $8,000, it makes sense that they weren't able to provide more content and back story. Acting is not as bad as other users have said. They are young actors, but still very talented.
