How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019)
Marvelous third episode
I have teenage kids and get to watch all the animated films with them. The first episode of "How to train your dragon" was one of my favourites, the second one slightly lacking, but this third installment is just mind-blowing. The animation quality is a massive step up, being so photo realistic, from the wind-blown ripples in the ocean to Toothless' drawing in the sand and Hiccup's leather apron. Some of the characters are much more developed than previously, with Ruff-nut showing us how excruciatingly annoying her babbling can be and Tuff-nut providing his obnoxious unsolicited relationship advice to Hiccup. The story has all the elements of humor, romance, adventure, camaraderie, rivalry, suspense, victory and loss, but it seems so much more cohesive than in the first two films. Just a great way to spend a Saturday evening at the movies with your family.
Confess (2017)
Uninspiring acting
Katie Leclerc is really lovely but one gets the feeling that she is trying too hard. There is this forced exuberance that isn't very convincing. I watched two episodes - hopefully it gets better...
