God's Not Dead (2014)
If 1 ratings are unreasonable then so are 10s
I can't believe some of the rating on here for a movie that pretty much put Pure Flix on the map. Was it really that bad of a movie? Believe it or not, this story was actually inspired by actual events that happened in colleges. There are professors that are atheists and they did in fact challenge Christians in their faith. I find it funny that people rate movies a 1 because they simply didn't like the movie. A 1 is saying that it's the worst movie of all time lol. I mean sure, everyone is allowed to their opinion, but a 1? Seriously? The acting was good. The cinematography was good. So why not rate a 3? I guess I'll have to rate it a 10 to counter balance the unfairness.
Piercing Wounds (2023)
Action-Romance!
Yes, yes, yes! A great clean action-romance film to watch with your family! Sometimes it's hard to find a good love story that has a balance. Usually the classic love stories have that conflicting drama that goes back and forth between the guy and gal like the Nicholas Sparks movies. And those films tend to attract the ladies. But this film also adds a nice element of action and thriller to the plot. That's another thing, I thought the pacing and character arch was really good. And there was really good chemistry with the three leads, they all complimented each other greatly. Even though this is an indie film, I give it a 10 because it's not something I've seen before, and I highly recommend it. And some may disagree, but I loved it.
Access Control (2022)
Finally, a clean comedy!
It's super hard to find clean comedy these days for the family to watch. And I was happy to be one of the first to see this little gem. Great acting, Andrew Bullard gave a fantastic performance and I highly recommend it. It was shorter feature, but I like that. And I really like the buddy cop theme. It reminded me of a clean version of the old Lethal Weapon movies, and the fun banter was great between the two leads. And there was a little bit of a love story in there, which made was a nice sub plot and I think really helped complete the main character for the story.
If you like comedy, and you want something clean for your kids to watch, Access Control is a great choice.
Family First (2022)
Love the message
A lot of faith based movies are the same, someone's always finding God or getting saved, but this one is different. Yes, the faith message is in there, but I like how it shows the reality of people and how we're all human. We all act out of emotion, and this film shows the realism behind it. Great acting, and it wasn't cheesy. Well done.
Covid-19 Response (2020)
Great Family Movie!
Okay, this is pretty good. The acting was good and the story was good. And the message was great! It really has a neutral stance about the pandemic. It's not political in any way, and the story show us what's really important in life, especially in the days that we're living in. There's some comedy and drama elements mixed throughout, it's really just a solid story. I was impressed and would definitely recommend it for a family setting. And for me, it was a nice lift after being in the pandemic for several months now. If you need a lift, this is the film to watch.
Confound (2019)
A Christian Martial Arts Mystery!
Great writing. Watch it, I'm not spoiling it.
Just found out that the lead actress - Moriah Brown - is being nominated for best actress in the 2020 International Christian Film Festival on May 16th 2020. Hope she wins!
Prolonged Exposure (2019)
A great Indie Film!
This is a pretty good Indie film. Those who don't like it and rated it low are probably expecting every movie they watch to be a theatrical blockbuster. This is a good old fashion mystery story. The acting was great, I don't know why someone reviewed it as terrible, there was nothing wrong with the performances. I thought the directing was good, it fit this type of story. And the story was good too, it was written for a low budget Indie. Using 1 or 2 locations in a film is pretty difficult to do, but with this type of story, it worked perfectly. It was also intriguing and it made me think. I love mysteries that keep me guessing, that's kinda the point of a mystery. And this film delivered. Great job!
If you like mystery/thrillers, you'll like this film.
