The Delinquent Season (2018)
Extremely thought provoking
In a time when movies often don't fully portray the aftermath of betrayal, I felt this movie reminded me what I seem to have been indifferent to, dare I say forgotten. The main thing I think this film tries to do, is provoke its' audience to rethink the aftermath of betrayal. Nowadays, the whole relationship institution has dissolved into nothing substantial. Whilst emphasizing the collapse of loyalty between the partners and to the marriage itself, the movie has awakened the inevitable consequence of each disloyal act we partake in, when in a relationship.
The actors were fantastic and Cillian Murphy's performance definitely stood out. It's certainly a refreshing change to see him portray a character that's preserving a tiny portion of his own nature, so it seems.
I must say though, at first, I thought the movie was rather boring during the first twenty minutes. Only then did I realize that as boring as it was to watch the characters day to day life, it must be dreadful to actually live as such, thus explaining, and ultimately leading, to the acts of infidelity.
Horse Girl (2020)
It's a "think about it" type of movie
First of all, loved Alison Brie's acting.
Second of all, using Matthew Gray Gubler (which I adore- amazing actor with so much versitality) and Robin Tunny (which I remember back when she participated in House M.D as a teacher and patient) for creating a hidden Crime Tv show after both actors participated in such shows (Matthew in Criminal Minds and Robin in The Mentalist) IS ABSOLUTELY GENIUS.
And third, the plot is really smart. In one hand, the movie's portraying this lunatic and obviously trubled young woman (no way anyone watching could relate to) who's dealing with an alien issue. On the other hand, what the plot really showcases is this reality of hers. A reality she believes is true because it is true. But To whom?
Sarah's a part of a group of people only a fraction of sociaty knows and wants to handle. Some things are automatically considered insane and the people who share a similar reality to Sarah's are put away in the facilities without exposing them or their vision of reality to the public.
Obviously, Sarah's reality isn't real and she is crazy.... BUT the movie is well made amd the writing is great.
Have to say that the ending is a bit ambiguous which is disappointing considering the movie's kind of great.
Me Before You (2016)
absolutely heart wrenching in the best way possible
I read the book (twice) four months before the movie was release- loved it. Highly recommend it. I went to see the movie with the highest expectations, and let me tell you- I wasn't disappointed (to say the least). Right from the start, just from seeing the title of the movie on the screen I began crying with excitement .loved every bloody minute of it. This movie will make you laugh, cry, lose your self in the room, and most of all- pray for a goddamn sequel movie (there is a following book named "after you"- highly recommend it). I cried like someone (god forbid) died or something! Trust me, some will say it's a classic chick flick, but I say screw it. "Me Before You" is the best romantic movie ever to exist. The actors were wonderful, the screenplay was the same exact lines from the book which I loved for the fact that it kept its authenticity, and the choice of background music made it even better. definitely will watch it again in a dark room with a box of tissues.
