Poor Things (2023)
Do not watch this movie. I wish I had read the reviews.
I am going to try and cansor words by spelling them wrong so hopefully this review will get posted with no problem.
This movie is absolute filth. I wasted 13 bucks. Deplorable. The worst of humanity. This goes beyond just being "bad" and every single person that was a part of this movie needs to be orrested.
The entire premise of the movie is what I have a problem with. Just to be clear: It is WRONG to have telations with a chjld. I want that to be very, very clear. I understand that it's a grpwn womon's kody but the mjnd is a chjld and that's the whole point. This is absolute deprevity and I now have a lower opinion of everyone that made this movie.
Each character was more evil than the last. It got worse and worse. And I watched the whole bloody thing. I paid extra for the making-of and deleted scenes and stuff.
Ramy Youssef said it best that people told Yorgos NOT to make this movie, but he did. I am all for people taking risks but this is CHJLD BORNEGRAPHY. And there's even a scene where there are actual chjldren (in actual chjldren's bopies) watching as sixual integcourse was taking place. It's just the worst.
I am appalled that this movie was made, everyone appears to be A-ok with it, and that it's won so many awards. I need to wash my brain out with soap. Yall need Jesus. Idk what else to say. I wish I could burn this movie from my brain.
I kept on hoping there was going to be some redemption, but the entire movie was based around one thing. Awful barely begins to describe it.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
Stop with the hate, it's fine
I was trying to figure out why this show didn't work... why my favorite parts involved all of the other characters. It's the writing.
I think Tatiana Maslany is a FANTASTIC actress. She did the absolute best that she could have. Everyone else is really good as well. They didn't really give the character any huge things to deal with, so I think the audience is not as involved as the other shows. In the other Marvel movies and Disney+ shows, there is usually something they need to defeat that would destroy a city, the planet, or the galaxy and/or universe. The most She-Hulk had to overcome was a lawsuit against the trademark of the name She-Hulk which she didn't even care for anyway.
So I feel that if it's just not epically written, we shouldn't hate on everything else. The effects were good, all of the actors were superb, I enjoyed the story for what it is especially when I caught on, I got the vibe of the show. If you're going into this thinking it's going to be a super integral part of the Marvel cinematic universe, I think you will be let down.
Just let this show breathe. Let it do its thing. And there are some gems in there. For example, I LOVED the friendship between Pug and Nikki. The chemistry was off the charts and so fun to watch. I LOOOOOVVVED the addition of Daredevil. I did not know that was going to happen. Somehow that wasn't spoiled for me. I loved Mark Ruffalo, of course. He is fantastic in every scene he's in. Wong came through and was an amazing addition. I loved the interaction and friendship of him and Madisynn, so cute. "Wongers" :)
And the last episode went so meta, I think it redeemed the whole series. The writers were given carte blanche I think and they went wild with whatever they could do, and that was thoroughly showcased in the last episode.
I loved this series. People need to stop hating on it. It's good. I think deep down in your heart, if you reflect on it, you'll see it is not that bad. :)
Zeruda no densetsu: Tiâzu obu za kingudamu (2023)
Heckin yes
Breath of the Wild who? Lol, Breath of the Wild was OK compared to this game. Tears of the Kingdom improved on just about EVERYTHING. This game is iconic. So many people are doing so many crazy things with this game. It's insane.
When I first saw people strapping rockets to little Koroks, I knew this game was about to pop off. And pop off it DID. We are probably going to get another solid 6 years of ridiculous things that people are building. Hopefully we can share schematics in the future. I've seen Star Wars ships, life size beyblade, gigantic eagle wings fused together with cannons attacking poor little bokoblins below.
Poor bokoblins!! So much torture. I saw someone say Zelda's gonna have to get Ganondorf's help to stop Link! Lol.
RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) (2022)
How can you not love this movie??
Ok, it was a BIT long... but it was great. They had a lot of story to tell. I was tuned in the entire time. I usually fall asleep during movies. My eyes were peeled. I was invested.
Some of the actions were a BIT overdone. But... it's a movie. You have to do it up all dramatic-like, so I get it. It was cool. They had some great scenes. I was a bit lost at times, but it all came together.
And now I am spending the next hour before I go to sleep looking up the actors and learning about that final scene where they showed what I'm guessing is previous leaders from India, that whole montage. I want to get to know more about them and what they've been through. It totally sucks that England was so awful to them way back in the day. And now if you eat anywhere in London, curry is an option. There's curry everywhere. I once stayed in a hotel there and the room service had 5 different versions of curry, and that's it. No other food options.
Anyway, this movie rocked. I hope the people that did this movie do more stuff!! It was great!
The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
I thought it was going to get better at some point.
...it didn't. It just kept getting deeper and deeper and then it just ended. I wish there would have been like 10 minutes more for the movie and there was a great big resolution, but there's not.
Bad stuff happens and gets worse and worse and the movie ends. It was a huge bummer. I had high hopes for it, too! With all of the nominations and the amazing cast. Barry Keoghan's character was my favorite. I absolutely adored his honesty. Wish there was more of him in the film.
It's was ok, I guess. Kind of funny in parts. I bet Irish people would love this movie. They probably cracked up at every second, saying "Yup!!! That's how it is!" But for me, it was just two hours of "ugh".
It had beautiful B roll though. I loved the shots at dawn & dusk. Those are really hard to get. Ireland is so freaking beautiful and everyone in this movie was bummed out. How could you be so bummed out around such gorgeousness!! The sunsets were so pretty!
Kaleidoscope (2023)
Solid-ish
The first episode (violet) ripped me apart. Man, I was crying.
I watched it in chronological order. I didn't end with white, I watched red and pink after white. I have no regrets.
The ending for the whole thing where the main character now has Parkinson's and he's trying to change his ways and be a good person... and then gets shot by one of the ultra rich people. That totally sucks! I probably would have rated this a 10 if not for the last 5 seconds of this series.
Interesting concept, but very sad ending. Giancarlo Esposito is a freaking rock star though. His star was shining the brightest. Paz Vega was awesome. Jai Courtney is fantastic at being a villain. Peter Mark Kendall was perfect and I hope we see more of him in other roles. Aaaaaaand Rufus Sewell is gorgeous, so the casting was superb for this series.
The Witcher: Blood Origin (2022)
Perfect!!!
This show was SO GOOD!! I loved it! Sucks that it was so short! I definitely want more episodes of this, but it seems like it was wrapped up pretty well at the end. Dunno if they will make any more.
Meldof was my favorite character!! She was amazing. Every character was great though. It sucks that a couple of them died. It was a fantastically well put together series. I love it as much as Wednesday and Moon Knight.
It was so well written... just like the most amazing session of DND!! That's a great way to describe it. Like the best actors got together and played a huge session of Dungeons and Dragons. I do wish there was more!! If the producers and writers want to do more, please! By all means! Grace us with more of this show. It is a 10/10 in my book.
The Polar Express (2004)
The conductor is an a**hole
How can you yell at a kid, and then do a song and dance about hot chocolate?
I didn't like how the conductor treated these kids. The know it all kid said the conductor would through the girl overboard because she didn't have a ticket (that none of them had in the first place). I know he didn't, but it sucks that the kids were in fear like that. Is that a good message to send? To be frightened of adults because they will abuse you?
And it does seem like they put heavy emphasis on gifts when Christmas should be about hanging out with loved ones.
I'm just really not a fan of a coach / teacher / person in charge being super mean to kids and then giving them something nice and expecting it to all be ok.
Wednesday (2022)
They turned the perfect up to 11
This was SO GOOD from start to finish. Everything was amazing. Acting was perfect. Effects were perfect. Story was good. I hope there's a season 2 and 3.
I LOVED the subtle throwbacks like snapping twice to enter the Nightshade lair. And the one line "You rang?" at the coffee shop when the bell rang.
I didn't like how Christina Ricci's character turned out to be evil. I wanted her to be good throughout. And I was really liking Tyler!! And I'm sad that Weems died! I wanted her to have redemption and get along with Wednesday and see the school be brought back to order. But... oh well. They did pay respect to her.
Can't wait for any future seasons of this. Jenna Ortega KILLED IT. Woooooo get it girl.
Nope (2022)
Great ending!
I skipped over the monkey murder part... The movie was great! I love a good ending. If the ending is not good, the whole movie falls apart.
It was a little hard to follow. I thought "What's going on here?" a lot. Why did the saucer thing bloom into a mega Pokémon lookin ghosty thing? Idk but it was cool. And I think they killed it at the end? I wish there was more resolution. I'm glad Angel lived!! I was so sad when he got sucked up, but I guess he ended up ok. :)
It's a great movie. People are such grouches, giving this movie a low rating. Idk how any movie can satisfy anyone anymore with such grouchy attitudes.
Senior Year (2022)
It was SO GOOD!!
I thought this movie was going to be like meh, but it was actually SO GOOD! Far exceeded my expectations. Rebel Wilson is a gem. This movie looked like it was so fun to make and it's just a whole ray of sunshine. I loved it.
LOVED IT!!! :D.
God's Favorite Idiot (2022)
So cute! Love it!
It's just great! What's not to like?
I was trying to figure out if this was sacrilegious or not, lol. I think it's just good fun. Maybe just a little reminder that God loves us. :)
Virus Shark (2021)
Acting - meh... background music - AMAZING
Yeah so no one is winning any Oscars for the acting in this movie... but the background music is on point! Ridiculously good. It made it feel like it was a professional movie.
Eternals (2021)
Yikes.
Did anyone like this movie? Like really, genuinely, actually liked it because of the plot and acting and direction? I'd be stunned to see even one person who does.
I feel bad for ALL of the actors. They are probably wonderful people.
I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 for the graphics and stuff. :\
Encanto (2021)
Another Disney / Pixar masterpiece!!!
I was crying like a minute and a half in. This movie is wonderful!! I love learning about different cultures. The outfits and colors in this movie were amazing. Bruno's character was probably my favorite. I am not Colombian at all, but I imagine they represented them well. I cried so much at the end when (that thing happens that I don't want to spoil). I had to watch it again a couple of times when my eyes cleared from all the tears. :)
Such a great movie!! Loved it! Loved it! LOVED IT!!!
