The Unlikely Good Samaritan (2019)
Skip it.
As a Christian I really wanted to like this film...but I just can't. I'm sure the film's director had the best of intentions, but in the end this is a real bomb. The dialogue was dreadful, and the floating camerawork was extremely annoying. Eric Roberts only had two scenes which barely justified his paycheck. I'm all for quality Christian films, but I'm sorry to say this isn't one of them.
Oh, Yeah? (1929)
Oh, Yeah? Yeah!
I agree with other reviewers who noted the film has some unnecessary padding. However, I loved the friendship between Dude and Dusty, and found Robert Armstrong and James Gleason very believable in the roles. It was an enjoyable film and worth a viewing.
Alone with a Stranger (2000)
Did they watch the same movie I did?
After reading the other reviews here, I was expecting to see a taut, entertaining thriller. What a disappointment! This plays like a typical made-for-tv flick with a few F-bombs added; a painfully predictable plot with nothing you haven't seen a zillion times already and zero suspense. Skip it-- I wish I did.
Psycho a Go-Go (1965)
They don't make 'em like this anymore...
What a blast from the past! Other reviewers have mentioned the plot so I won't repeat it here. What makes the film so fascinating is the '60s styles, the garish colors, the lounge-music soundtrack, Tacey Robbins' singing, the wild go-go dancers...We even see the director, the infamous Al Adamson, playing Travis, the ill-fated robber! Like many of Adamson's films, this one is like a car wreck-- you don't want to stare but you just can't help it. I find it amazing that a director could put this together for a mere $2,000-- alas, those days are gone forever. A real treat for B-movie fans!
Adventures of Aladdin (2019)
Not as bad as other reviewers say...
Usually I groan through most of The Asylum's films I've seen, but I actually found this entertaining. The sets and costumes obviously reveal the low budget, but the cast is energetic and the film plays as an old-fashioned kiddie matinee adventure. Adam Hollick is fine as Aladdin. ADVENTURES OF ALADDIN will win no awards, but it is a fun flick for the family.
