Fallout (2024)
Not okey dokey.
First of all I'm not a fan of the franchise but I like the first two games and New Vegas. I couldn't care less about they ruining this franchise further as nothing can ruin the aforementioned Fallout video games for me anyway.
The story basically doesn't exist. It's not much different than Fallout 3's story. The whole point of the TV Series is just watching Fallout-themed media and remembering the good old days of playing the video games, not to actually enjoy a TV series to watch. In that regard I would say it's low-quality fan media but I can't because Fallout: Nuka Break and Fallout: Red Star is way better than this TV series for a fan content. So it makes this TV series just a greedy tool to milk a franchise in the worst way possible content.
That being said if you are not familiar with the Fallout franchise I don't think things would make sense as there is zero care for a new audience to Fallout. For example I don't think anyone who didn't played the video games can actually understand what's a vault nor what kind of setting this version of world is in this TV series.
Despite the aim of making you remember Fallout there was a little from the video games. It's more like they took the fundamentals and they did their own things. There is not even single super mutant but briefly mentioned around end of the season. The only familiar enemy was mutant cockroaches, bear and feral ghouls and that's it. As for weapon only pistol, assault rifle laser rifle was familiar. There is Vault stuff, Nuka Cola and its caps, some foods, Brother of Steel, NCR Ranger outfit, mention of Enclave and that's all about there to see from video games.
Basically 2 episodes of content stretched to 8 episodes so yeah every episode is too slow and long. Some of the dialogues are so ridiculous I hope they used an AI because I don't wanna think a person was mentally okay and was good with this. IDK if there will be a 2nd season but sure as hell I ain't watching it. If I wasn't free I would stop at 1st episode instead watching the whole season.
Instead of unnecessary nudity it would be great if there was necessary Fallout gore. The gore there is is not enough for a Fallout media. I would wanna see V. A. T. S. targeting at least in one combat but I guess they didn't actually play any of the video games.
There are two good things I can say about this tv series. First is very famous actors and actresses plays in it and second is sometimes hearing music from the video games in the right time. Other than these there is no redeeming quality whatsoever.
Bullet Train (2022)
The train of plot holes.
The Asian assassin ordered to kill a person who sit in B04 but why he didn't kill her when the person was just some almost middle-aged Russian woman in high school uniform-like clothes? Why he doesn't use a knife or silenced pistol anyway?
The guy in a white suit The Wolf directly attacks Brad Pitt when the murderer of everyone in his wedding is a woman whom he has given her picture for she is the assassin which he personally came to Japan to kill her. She doesn't look like Brad Pitt so why he attacked Brad Pitt? Also in flashback the guy in the white suit is shown as he directly came to the bullet train just after the wedding assassination and then we learn Brad Pitt was also in the wedding but he mention he was retired for some time. Did the guy didn't take his clothes off for a while or what? What kind of cinematography and storytelling it's?
The Russian woman is revealed to have an evil plan for the Asian guy who is tasked to assassinate her. For fail-safe she states she sent a man to the his kid in hospital so if she doesn't report back in a certain period of time the guy will kill the kid. But then we learn the kid's grandfather sent a woman to protect the kid. When the guy is clearly up to no good being next to the kid this woman waited for the last minute to take the guy down so the plot can continue in the way it was badly written.
So The Elder's wife was revealed to be especially murdered by White Death or his men but why The Elder wasn't killed when White Death was literally in front of him?
The people kill others in bullet train but there is no security, no staff, et cetera around to ensure public peace, protecting possession of the customers and whatnot. Literally there is just a conductor and a servant.
Brad Pitt takes down The Wolf but doesn't look at the envelope he has on him but he ponders "why he attacked me" for minutes.
Brad Pitt was revealed to be shot twice by a man called Lemon. Why he shot him and why he just his shoulder instead of so many deadly points on his body doesn't make sense.
It turns out so many foreign people brought firearms with them. Japan is not like America, it's very hard for a civilian to get a gun and Lemon bought his favourite gun with him, not even some "the random gun we were able to smuggle into Japan" gun.
People constantly speak English to Japanese people and Japanese people speak Japanese back but somehow people understand each other. The hell?
The Asian assassin was shot in the stomach but he survived just fine for hours.
The Russian girl shot Lemon in the torso instead of the head to kill him. Lemon couldn't die because of it thanks to his bulletproof vest which his brother knew he had vest on but forgot it and believed he was dead without even checking his pulse.
The White Death was revealed to be Russian. So how he could be respected by a Japanese yakuza boss who values tradition? Traditional Japanese people dislike non-Japanese people a lot. So it's very unrealistic for such a Yakuza boss to even care about the life of a non-Japanese person.
The White Death thought Brad Pitt was Carter who killed his wife. It's unrealistic for this guy to not even check what Carter looks like.
Lemon was angry because his brother died because of Brad Pitt but after a while they became brothers. The hell? Is an AI wrote this story?
The White Death didn't just use a gun to kill The Elder, he just used a katana. Just why?
I haven't watch anything that has so much plot holes since Stranger Things' first episode.
The idea is good but bad execution. Brad Pitt's face got boring years ago. None of the other people are actually famous so their acting capability are barely decent. The whole movie clearly targets new generation kids who play Minecraft and Fortnite all day and when they don't they record their own videos to upload it on Tiktok.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022)
Not a Cyberpunk, it's actually Romantic Magical Electronic-Punk
So a teen kid somehow gets a cyber-implant called Sandevistan that allows him to think faster but the logic fail is without having a machine body with his natural body he did born with he can run as fast as light. For some reason amidst people making fun of this kid for still having his own natural body anime did nothing to make sense this logic fail. Another thing is as objects gets fast they get heavy which anime even ignored this basic laws of physics. Clearly whoever wrote the story didn't go to school. This is like 2nd grade science class thing to know.
Neuroscience-wise a person cannot think that fast enough to perceive time slowed down, it's against the natural chemical way the brain works. This is like 1st highschool grade biological class thing to know. The only way to make it work is using a non-biological brain but Cyberpunk universe clearly not advanced as much as Ghost in the Shell universe where people change their brain like how we change our socks so it cannot be a proper Cyberpunk universe despite its name. I would be ashamed to call it Cyberpunk. It's more like "Magical Electronic-Punk" because science is out of the window so it's barely sci-fi. Even in a way more advanced universe like Ghost in the Shell you cannot see any logic-fail like Sandevistan.
When I mentioned this anime is not a proper Cyberpunk universe, even none of the musics played in the anime is in Cyberpunk genre. This anime is disgrace to Cyberpunk genre, not deserve to have the name "Cyberpunk" like it's the true Cyberpunk. Even its creator clearly stole ideas from William Gibson and lying he never read any of his books. Why CDPR didn't adapt Neuromancer into a video game but instead they chose the trash Cyberpunk franchise beats me.
The story is not proper. They clearly for some reason turned Cyberpunk franchise into anime to advertise the half-baked video game called Cyberpunk 2077 that's also not a proper Cyberpunk game. I wish they used the budget they wasted on this anime to actually develop a decent video game instead.
In Night City that's a dog eats dog city people are too naive, too empathic and caring against total strangers. Then my city is way more Night City than Cyberpunk universe can offer, but no one need cyborg-body here.
Another issue of the anime is the target audience that's clearly girls between 6-10 years old minus realistic gore and unnecessary nude scenes. Some woman suddenly falls in love with some guy and the whole anime turns into romantical stuff since 2nd episode is what I would expect from some romantic anime, not from a Cyberpunk anime. Instead of Cyberpunk music in lots of times they play the girly musics teen girls listen to in the middle of action scenes when people getting shot and explode, their brains flying in the air and these 2 main characters having romantic moments under a full moon. I'm not kidding, this literally happens.
So clearly they had no idea how to make the story proper so they filled it with all the textbook cliches but they forgot to make characters likeable. Every character in the anime is who you want them to just drop dead as soon as possible.
They even ruined the ending and couldn't manage to make it satisfactory by using the potential just for the sake of romantic scenes. Yeah dude, some random 9 years old girl who dream the day she will get married and therefore craving for romantical anime would watch Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. When boys started to care about romantic stuff? Are you aware what's supposed to be Cyberpunk? Didn't you even watch Ghost in the Shell or played Deus Ex 1 before even if you ever didn't read William Gibson - Neuromancer at most?
Matilda: The Musical (2022)
Finally a proper musical but a boring movie.
The fundamental problem of musical genre is basically people start to sing and dance in doesn't makes sense way. In this movie people have good excuses to actually dance and sing and they managed to make it in a decent artistic way.
Another problem of musicals is lyrics are somewhat not a proper song as well as the dance and the situation is not fitting which this musical has no such problem. Not to mention this musical doesn't suffer from a lack of proper melody and decent lyrics in songs as most of the musicals.
However musical aspect of the movie is lacking as in short musical moments and lack of interesting dance sections were not satisfactory at all. For example the musical aspect of The Mask (1994) is way more satisfactory than this movie despite The Mask is not musical and you bet it tells a lot about Matilda: The Musical. Yet it's no where near to the great The Fiddler on the Roof movie but not as bad as The Phantom of The Opera.
Not that the movie was short but the time it had wasn't used properly. For example the whole the escapologist and acrobat love story parts in the movie are too unnecessary. Instead there could've been more musical scenes. They sacrificed some Matilda musical sections just for the sake of this pointless side-story just to make a poor job by spending less money as much as possible. It would be welcome if this movie wasn't a musical or if these sections were actually a musical, not just singing for like 2 minutes in total.
Compared to the original movie, there are certain changes of course. This Matilda is better in story progression but the original Matilda was more satisfactory about the ending, especially on the psychological torture of the Trunchbull. In that regard the part that leads to the ending and the ending part was too fast to happen. Otherwise fundamentals of both movies are the same.
However in the original movie Matilda is a devilish person who can actually does more than an ordinary kid would do, in this musical Matilda is vindictive yet she is not devilish at all which despite her superpowers she stays as an ordinary innocent girl minus being too good at mathematics compared to her peers.
Long story short, it's a proper musical that could be satisfying but not so good movie. Without such decent music it would be plainly boring.
The Good Place (2016)
It was a good tv series.
One might ask IMDB why a person may like this TV series so much when religion and the afterlife idea are cliche and boring in this era. At least I can offer you my point of view on it if you are curious. Before I start I gotta mention I dislike Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Office (both versions). They are boring and cringe. As for the rest of Michael Schur's works I'm not interested at all. As you can see I have more reasons to dislike The Good Place.
Long story short a month ago one of my dear friend just send me one of her favourite songs on Youtube that is Pobody's Nerfect by Whitney Avalon. I loved the Janet character a lot and I've learned it's from this TV series so I decided to watch it just for Janet's sake.
To be honest as I learned it's about the afterlife didn't give me a good first-time impression but I've decided to watch it anyway since most of the episodes are 20 minutes long. It's good for watching when I have to eat, even just to relax when I take break from work.
1st season is plain boring but good thing is the situation in 1st episode changed fast enough just when I got started to get bored and even considered stopping watching despite I wanted to watch it for Janet. Good for me that Janet stops being a trivial background character and starts to have importance especially after 1st episode. And in each episode I started to like the TV series a lot. I won't say you would probably like it after 1st season but 2nd season was when I hooked up and when I watched 3rd episode by binge watching it I was so glad I didn't give up.
For comedy genre-sake this is not the TV series I would recommend. Not that it's not funny, but it's not about comedy per se. It's more about less serious story on particular people trying to have a better life with funny moments sometimes. Sometimes I had a great laugh though, especially 3rd season is when it becomes a comedy but 3rd season is my favorite for many reasons enough to sometimes re-watch just the 3rd season.
So it may be about the boring religious idea but they managed to make the idea new and refreshing by coming up with their own version + they change it to something as later on. It's good that this is not all about religion and the afterlife.
One of the boring aspects of this TV series is until the end from time to time it turns into a long philosophical lecture on the sense of morality so it's kinda no different than watching a TED Talks.
Since 6 particular people are the people you'll watch the most if you'll like this TV series or not really depends on if you can endure the boredom of Tahani, the annoyance of Jason, the indecisiveness of Chidi and the American overconfidence of Eleanor. Jason is seriously boring and cringe as much as Chidi's lectures but both of these characters are sometimes fun, especialy Jason. Eleanor's purpose in the story not to entertain but make the story flow by getting good ideas from Jason's bad ideas. When Eleanor is useless Chidi make the story flow. As you probably noticed Tahani has no particular importance in this pattern. She is more like running errands and she is only good at one thing that sometimes becomes important and that's it.
As for the 4th season, compared to even 1st season 4th season was way more boring. Things happened as it should have, it was satisfactory but as 4th season started the quality of the tv series dropped and dropped. In 3rd season quality got so high it reached heaven by making me surprised constantly when they did more and more constantly. I know, in 4th season things got settled as it was how it's but with 3rd season finale, the last episode had happened in a shortened way the TV series would end better.
Yet it's rare that I'm sad for a TV series ended. I think I wasn't sad for a TV series since the 10th Doctor regenerated into the 11th Doctor and they fired Russell T Davies and replaced him with boring Steven Moffat and he ruined Doctor Who with romantic ideas for teen girls, he even ruined Sherlock Holmes. Well The Good Place could have been longer and I would really watch it even for 1000 Jeremy Bearimy but it was time for the TV series to just go just as this review has to go.
The First Slam Dunk (2022)
Random Character - The Movie
When I first saw its poster that only Miyagi's trivial face was featured I doubted if the movie was only about him or his face was just among promotional posters featuring every character in the team - unfortunately I was so wrong.
It turns out the whole movie is about Miyagi and his unnecessary family drama while watching just one match. It was like you are in the bus and the bus driver constantly hits the brake and hits the pedal every 20 minutes. Your soul gets sucked with boring cliche drama and then it shows the match and unnecessary drama over and over again. In the end whatever emotional hype they tried to build up was not effective to me. Even after credit the movie actually ends with the Miyagi family's drama. Then why not make the name of the movie "Miyagi - Slam Dunk Depression Into Mood"?
In the anime and manga Miyagi is like one of the background character, very similar to Yamcha in Dragon Ball. Why he was the main character of this movie beats me. No one cares about his existence at all.
We don't necessarily like Slam Dunk for basketball and the main character Sakuragi but we like it for the humor it had which was 90% destroyed and replaced with old man depression. This is not the Slam Dunk I liked and waited for at all. This didn't worth to wait for 2 decades. It was like when we were waiting for Half-Life 3, Valve released Half-Life: Alyx.
As for the match, if a special version of the movie had ever released that never shows Miyagi's unnecessary backstory only then the movie could ever be watchable unless you are an emo and your life is so happy you seek constant drama in your life.
If you don't care about Slam Dunk but just wanna watch a basketball movie, even then the movie doesn't worth to watch. No normal person would want depression in basketball match. But biggest problem of depression is the match constantly being cut to show parts of Miyagi's trivial life. If events shown in chronological order it would be okay because only then we could forget about his substory, wouldn't think when the match will cut out the next time to show depression parts. Because of this I couldn't get into the mood of the match at all. This is really "how to ruin storytelling 101" moment here. Good job, director. Miyagi will never be in any of my artworks ever again, not even when I draw the whole team into one frame.
The Forgotten (2004)
They forgot to write a logical story and actual ending.
The movie is really immersive and gives lovely message on love for your own child but just writing a story with this idea wasn't enough. Throughout the whole movie it seemed like they had no idea how to explain all these so they actually didn't and it basically has no ending therefore the movie was very unsatisfactory and a great annoying building up in every scene.
With little the movie tells about what's going on we can assume aliens use USA for experimenting. They are just having fun playing with americans. This time they decided to make a mother forget she had a kid but they failed and this woman desperately tries to look for her son. However all these doesn't make sense.
According to the script the kid is supposed to die for sure. To make it make sense they used "the kid was boarded on a plane to go to a camp without his parent(s) and the plane crashed as all the kids in the plane died" but why go to a camp on a plane? People usually use a bus for such trips especially because it's safer. And a parent like her is not the type to allow her kid to be alone and even board a plane. This is a huge characteristic error in the story.
In the first chapter of the movie parents who believe their children died actually didn't forget them, the whole experiment for some reason starts a year and a few months later. Aliens are powerful enough to make people forget their own child ever existed alongside with the news of plane crash everyone in the world forgets, they even change evidences like their pictures and videos yet how come they couldn't hide a big evidence of drawings of the kid's room? The whole room has paintings of this kid all around. Would it be hard for aliens to just paint the wall to hide drawings? They especially made us see how powerful aliens are before except they cannot even think to paint the wall. Not to mention as she removed the wallpaper the big frame hung on the wall and desk just disappeared.
The guy calls the cops on the woman instead of just pushing her outside of his house just to involve the secret service. Just wow. Doesn't make sense at all.
This is when the movie stops caring about a logical story further: It turns out aliens hear and watch them no matter where are they but they do nothing to kidnap them when they are sleeping but they try to kidnap them when they are not sleeping. So one of those days when they are sleeping, the main guy suddenly wakes up without any reason and just like someone told him there is a man in the forest watching the building he sleeping in, he directly runs to him and bashs his head with iron and kidnap him and interrogate him about where the children at. How the hell he actually realized he was there and how he actually directly found him in the jungle middle of the night? What about how the guy didn't notice he is running at him when he watching the whole building? Why is he alone anyway when he better had a partner by his side as it's like standard protocol for any type of law enforcement? Not to mention why they were chased around the whole movie when aliens can just pull a person to the air?
They magically find a house related to some random person and his house related to the plane company, why they even go there and who that person is like how they know that name is the actual mystery in the movie. To find the house they obviously lie to an accountant and she buys it in a very unrealistic way like she is a little kid. Very doesn't make sense at all. Also when they came into the house it was not night, in 2 minutes it suddenly becomes night like there was 4 hours difference in 2 scenes. Also the guy checks a picture in the house in which there is clearly no person in it. The next day he checks the same picture again and there is a a man in the picture. I was not even watching carefully especially to hunt goofs.
In the end we learn alien always knew how to make her forget her son but he never did but decided to do it after so many things happened then why he didn't do it in the first place? Yet he unrealistically lacks the basic knowledge to actually make it work. The basic idea to make someone forget you remove the whole memory about it. It's not about humanity, it's fundamental chemistry in which an alien should know since they managed to be so all-mighty. It turns out they just added "I have no idea I have a son" memory instead.
After so many unnecessary jumpscares the movie ends happily as the woman finds his son in the park and everything is like nothing happened. Just what's the point of such an ending?
Nocturnal Animals (2016)
The illusion of a hole on the ground that's actually just a painting.
If anyone wrote a story before they know that they use elements in their real life whether intentionally or not to write their stories. In the end the story is like a dream that you as a writer may wonder if this story personally means anything or not.
The movie is so empty as it was clearly intentional to be one of those "let's make audience wonder and invite them to think on what to make out of the movie by theorizing it". I won't spoil you don't worry.
So the whole movie is about the woman's ex-husband sent her his book he just wrote. That's the only thing we can be sure of. As for why he did it, if the story of the book means anything and all very unnecessary to think of. However what I can be sure of is the guy didn't wanna die before this woman likes one of the stories he wrote as the movie hinted it clearly. Only in that context the ending make sense that he didn't want the history to repeat itself.
As the woman living her ordinary life we also watch the story of the book which is painfully so dull no book publisher would accept such dull story. It turns out the movie is actually adapted from a book. So book publishers always give advice to writers for making their books worth to sell for and writers always merge all their story ideas into one which is like what happened with this story.
The whole story is empty, so ordinary. It seems "deep" but this deepness and potential basically wasted. It was like you develop a movie like Matrix 1 without Neo ever realising or doubts he is in Matrix so he just sit in his home plays video games all day.
As I said in the title "The illusion of a hole on the ground that's actually just a painting.", I thought there was a hole on the floor so I screamed geronimo and jumped on it but smashed to the floor like a sucker and tasted the painting. That's how the movie feels like. I watch better such murder situations on local news channels. What was the point of even developing this movie?
I may didn't like the movie but it may be worth something to someone else who wants a depressing movie, who relates to "my wife and daughter raped and murdered" story, "my wife left me because she is disappointed in me" story, "I've left my decent loving husband for a cheating husband and I regret it" story, if you have a thing for weird bad guy characters, et cetera. Other than these the movie is a big zero. Even way below than typical TV movies you can watch after midnight if you are a nocturnal animal yourself.
Saltburn (2023)
Real Winter in Pseudo-Summer
First of all, I have to mention IMDB profile of movies regarding genre are very misleading. So my number 1 warning about this movie is it's not a comedy at all. Comedy is not intended and unless you are mental there is not even dark comedy in the movie. The only funny thing about the movie is the movie won 4 awards and has 85 nominations.
That being said another warning I have is it's not a movie to watch while you eat and/or drink something.
As for about the movie without spoiling you I can say it's like the British version of Call Me by Your Name except there is no actual summer fun and this movie adds more weird and gross scenes like I have no idea what the director was thinking which I've never saw such scenes in a movie before. The movie probably got banned in lots of countries. They should also force the director to see a therapist and I'm very serious. Even Call Me by Your Name is very bearable. I even got used to Troma Entertainment movies but Saltburn is too much. So without these 3 weird scenes the movie would be barely okay. Good thing is it has less homosexual focus compared to Call Me by Your Name which comparing to Saltburn the movie is very innocent and like a cartoon.
As for the plot itself it actually doesn't make sense. Like a person lies and then everyone believe it without fact checking and this happens a lot. But not to mention even police cannot function properly. The whole family doesn't even suspect anything. I think director wanted to humiliate whole British justice system alongside with British people's intelligence as how much she underestimated them. Even an AI could write a better story than this.
Another bad aspect of the movie is men characters act like high school girls as this is very unrealistic.
In general characters has no personality as they are all empty shells filled with cliche stereotypes. But "such people really exist in real life" is not the point here. A movie as a medium is for entertainment but in this movie there is no entertainment value unless you are mental. Only value this movie has is like watching a house burn and wonder why someone would produce such a movie. That being said even the floor of Saltburn's foyer has a personality compared to characters in the movie.
--pros of the movie--
The cinematography is barely decent. Nothing new. Just very "inspired" from here and there, especially since it was barely like Wes Anderson-esque without zooms. When a movie is bad and cinematography is bad it makes it unwatchable. So at least the director didn't want to torture us more and she made this weird journey barely bearable.
I have no idea if it was intended but the movie is so slow so director gave you enough time to get ready for the next weird scene to deal with it so poor audience can get ready while characters wait to say their next line for minutes. I wonder if they gave free bucket to puke into it in theaters.
I think this movie can be used as porn addiction treatment. The particular scenes are so weird I evolved from demisexual to asexual thanks to this movie.
I thank the director for this movie because I can use this movie to test the character of a person. So I can ask if they like this movie and if they like it I'll understand it's a very big red flag and I'll run away from them as fast as I can.
Despite how bad the movie is the music choice in this movie is one of the best for using MGMT - Time to Pretend in the particular scene make the song very fitting for the theme of the movie.
Pâfekuto burû (1997)
Imperfect Blue, Pretentious Blue, Perfect Trash
The movie is basically about a Japanese idol who always wanted to be a singer and as a singer in an idol group she was content but her agent wanted her to make an actress and model to earn money by using her because she being an idol doesn't make money enough so she childishly let people control her life so she does all the cliche "singer going actress" path to increase interest on her and she even accepts a rape scene on tv series she plays and naked photoshoot of her. Nothing unusual or out of ordinary aspect about the plot. But the thing about plot is she giving up on her dream job as singer never made sense in the movie. Who would give up on their dream when they have it? That so simple plot most of these actresses experience is dull as it's. Also this kind of life is not what common people can relate + main character is not likeable but the ideal well-behaving Japanese girl but very dislikable for it therefore a person can hardly emotionally connect with the movie unless you manage to hook up with the mood and vibe of the movie and visuals if you have low standards in a movie. The movie ignores the main character having a personality and personality development and focus full on other aspects I'll just list below.
Since plot is dull so as the main character writer decide to attract audiance with libido, serial killer sub-plot and negative elements to make the movie interest people so they gone with idol story, sexualize people and for keeping interest of watching it the movie's genre shift from slice of life to psychological thriller without the movie can make sense on psychology therefore movie was okay as slice of life until it start to have all the bad aspect of anime version of Neon Genesis Evangelion confusion and going emo a lot to ensure how to make story interesting and ending it because they basically had no idea how the story should progress and end it therefore movie throw logic out of the window in like 30 minutes and there is even a sense of 4th wall breaking on how writer decide "who is the killer" by deciding how the tv series story should continue and mention they have no idea how "Perfect Blue" should continue so in the movie they show what writer decide via the script of the tv series the main character plays on and they decide to go with the same ridiculous excuse for ending of the tv series as how the movie should end but simply twist it. If they had used the potential of the movie in the direction it was heading instead of the plot twist of the ending the movie would deserve at least a 5. They ruined their own story that was nothing from the start and when it became something they just killed it.
As a result the movie was empty, it managed to end more empty than it could. It was a big zero but after halfway it managed to be infinite negativity. You gotta congratulate the writer for such an unusual fail in storytelling and script that you really had to try hard to do it. I'm very amazed. After it end you ask yourself "who are you?" to the writer so you can avoid any work they were involved in.
The movie's only artistical POV and the decent aspect they intended and managed well enough was "who are you?" idea but they ruined this artistical meaning of it with such ridiculous ending for the sake of pointless plot twist. It was like the movie was heading in wrong direction so it took a left turn and was in the right track and then it took another left turn so the story was going backwards and then it took another left turn and thus returned to its own dull progression by ignoring the right path intentionally just for the sake of plot twist. Even anime version of Neon Genesis Evangelion has a story and story progression that make more sense and not so empty as "Perfect Blue" even though its writer himself said he just wanted cool visuals and a Christian story to make things interesting, he didn't care things making sense. No wonder during pre-production of "Perfect Blue" several backers abruptly pulled out of the project.
The theme of the movie has a stalker fan of the main character interestingly shows the same disgusting situation on how there are such fanatic of this movie who has unrealistic idolization of this movie. The movie is so empty these poor people believe there was something valuable in this movie by the movie triggered their reverse psychology. The story is so nonsense they believe the story is smart. If they were smart they would notice how pointless, unrealistic and non-logical the story is which writer butchered for the sake of plot twist of many plot twists but writer did anything to interest and confuse primitive people to scam how decent movie this is but in reality if the idea of "trash" was a sequence of visuals it would be "Perfect Blue". If the movie means "trash" by saying "blue" yes it's the "Perfect Trash".
To make it clear my dislike of this movie is not a personal matter, it's just annoying when there is a potential for the story in a better direction but is ruined by the writer themself intentionally for the sake of a pointless plot twist. It was a perfect cake but ruined with too much unnecessary work and mistaking sugar with salt. Good thing is someone else can use the very same idea and develop a better movie. I wink at you the future writer. Amaze me. Please be the Jesus of the visual entertaintment industry.
A Murder at the End of the World (2023)
Feminist Gen Z Script Kiddie Playing Detective
The story takes place in a fantastical USA that law system doesn't function properly and for some reason lots of women are murdered by men therefore an ordinary sexist woman called Darby who uses script kiddie hacker programs that work like magic to play detective to find serial killer men and where these poor women buried because in this fictional USA FBI doesn't exist and local police doesn't exist therefore everyone basically doing whatever, they don't call police, a guy kill whoever with firearms in daylight around urban areas and no one cares because police doesn't exist.
At least in Mr. Robot hack make sense and people explain what they doing, in this tv series they literally used the famous quote of Arthur C. Clarke "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." and they exaggerated it a lot. In this fictional USA people use magical stones called laptop, smartphone and weird electronic devices to cast spells like it's a wand, even to see a magical realm of augmented reality to communicate with spirits that live in the magical realm called AIs. For these reasons story progression is so bad there is no character or something explain what's going on. Unless you are an expert hacker or a person who is very expert in modern technologies you cannot make sense what actually going on in this story. Even then either way you notice how the story doesn't make sense for many reasons and you lose interest fast because story doesn't bother making sense things and just show you events that suppose to be interesting and like it's all that matters therefore all you have is "X happens so Y happens" and that's it, "why, what, how, who" doesn't exist in this story.
There is also fictional Elon Musk who calls this main character called Darby because she is suppose to be smart but in reality she is the person make people get killed on her quest to catch serial killer men because she doesn't even use a pistol or even baseball bat. Despite being hacker and very familiar with modern technology she having hard time keeping up with basic ancient technology like a grandmother and she even got surprised to see an AI. She is supposed to be smart and valuable person to save humanity from itself yet she never seemed like that because she being smart enough to hack but not smart enough to think of simple things just don't make sense. It even got so cliche that she says she feels alone because she is so smart but in reality she is alone because she is not smart + make others get killed. For these reason Darby is a very dislikeable character.
The story is all over the place as the writer trying to solve all the basic humanity problems and making political statements in disguise of a story as in one story with our heroine Darby like they combined all their story ideas to produce this story so story points don't add up and story has no sense of direction or particular identity on what's this suppose to be about. It start as Mr. Robot, then turns into Tomorrowland, and then some ordinary Agatha Christie story that has The Great Gatsby + American Psycho theme in the modern days. What's this story?
Story progression is very bad, instead of giving answers for what you wanna know they are being ignored and you have to watch unrelated scenes that serve no purpose to the story like watching 2 people for 10 minutes singing in the car. For some reason all episodes had to be about an hour long and they had no idea how to dilly-dally so from time to time there is always a long scene that promotes a particular song so then the show turns into a playlist of Spotify. I mean songs playing as soundtrack is ok but whole long scenes being about a song when in the meanwhile nothing significant happens is not okay like whole another point of story is taking a musical break.
On top of it Emma Corrin who plays as Darby is a very bad actress, you can hardly hear or understand what she even trying to say. I don't know who she is but it's like family member of the director and she begged for the role or something, like she is in the show just because she look like young Jodie Foster or something. They could find way better actresses around who can actually act or at least have better diction.
MF Ghost (2023)
Low quality romance anime
My review is not influenced by Initial D for any reason. I judged the anime in its own context.
MF Ghost has a problem of having no sense of what kind of person their target audience would be. It's supposed to be about racing and cars right? But then why 90% of the anime is about pervert girls who automatically wishes for romantical relationship with the main guy like it's supposed to be a soap opera that targets teenage girls? These girls in every chance saying "wow he is so hot I wanna throw him and do it" is seems more like whoever wrote the story trying to live their own romantic fantasy and it's cringy. It would be okay if it was a little situation in the anime but 90% of the anime is the main guy and the girl "dating" when the girl try to attract the boy for her but the boy is blind to her advances. The whole element of the anime is the drama of this romance. No surprise the story will obviously turn into a love triangle and romantic tragedy soon after. Only romance in racing genre is the main guy being carsexual just like in Wangan Midnight, no one cares which character has crush on which person in racing/car genre fiction.
So if the race and car part lasts for 5 minutes in the anime, you watch nonsense boring romantical situations for 24 hours. That's the ratio here.
Race aspect is so not cared about they even used some low-quality animation work in race scenes. Basically the animations is like how news channel show how an accident happened with low-quality animations. Cars not moving in a realistic way at all. They slide and drift that's obviously impossible for the law of physics like how a kid makes a car move with their hand so they don't move naturally.
In general visual quality is not good too. Nothing looks eye-pleasing or cool just like how it was in Initial D. At least drawings in Initial D was so bad it looked funny, in MF Ghost they worked on visuals so much it looks too bad for another reason. Everything has unrealistic lights around and everything looks more cartoonish. Everything glows like neon lights. IDK if the art director using prescription glasses and never cleaned their glasses so they believe everything glows because that's how they believe the world looks like.
The story progression is too slow and basically anime's focus on romance bored me to death when naturally I wanted to watch it for race. If I wanted to watch romance I would watch Days of Our Lives.
The Phantom of the Opera (2004)
The Disappointment of the Opera
First of all there was basically no reason for why the movie is so long. Too many unnecessary scenes that takes too long between events enough to make you get bored of waiting for people to do something or say something.
As a musical movie it's not as cringy and awkward as most musicals I watched. Why a musical movie tends to be cringy and awkward for me is without a good reason or any artistical meaning conversations being via unnecessarily singing. However in the case of this movie not all dialogue is singing + there are not many conversations per se so I can even say the movie is barely even a musical in a typical sense but this movie is a good kind of musical because the point of musical is an artistical way of expressing emotions and ideas by singing so this movie manages it well compared to typical musicals that they sing to sing without any artistical meaning even about taking a piss or some trivial things but in this movie most of the musical aspect is very artistical. For these reasons I gave 1 more point to the rating considering 1 being the lowest rating.
Initially the movie started boring but eventually I figured the whole story is a metaphor so the story got interesting soon after. Despite the interesting metaphor aspect, real-life ideas for the metaphor didn't reflect into the story in logical way so the story doesn't make sense and it got cringy.
For example a man who is around his 30s says a character around her 16 were a childhood friend of his. So the girl is still a child therefore it means somehow they were childhood friends when he was 17 and she was like 3 years old. But this already awkward situation is revealed to be way more weird because he said he is in love with this girl since she was a baby. In this regard plot being very interesting but ruined by weird sense of romantical and sexual aspect really ruined the movie for me. Yet for the plot's sake I give one more point to the rating especially because it could have been a great metaphor about a rebellion story as it kinda started as but I have no idea why soon after the whole movie had to get primitive and started to be about weird romantical story that's more like brainwashing a child girl and kidnapping her.
The Phantom of the Opera character starts as an interesting rebel character but soon turns into a childish teen who is a pervert stalker with some cliche back story and a life that doesn't make sense. And this character is the actor also in his 30s kissing an underage girl actor on the lips which isn't it supposed to be illegal? Still doesn't matter if it's illegal or not, it's just a weird scene. This character and its idea could have been a metaphor about how this world is without making it romantic and sexual so a remake story is a must.
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
Too much forced suspension broke immersion
The idea is good but for this idea to work whoever wrote the story filled the story with too many unnecessary suspense over and over again that doesn't happen logically and the main character always misunderstands the situation and comes up with conclusions she has no idea of yet she doesn't believe in obvious facts and cannot connect the dots to figure out the reality. There is no basic explanation for why this woman who is around in her 30s acts like 6 year old kid.
For the suspense to work the other main character absolutely avoids basic human behaviour and doesn't explain the situation so the audience can watch her mistakes over and over again just for the sake of unnecessary emotional impact. Because suspense doesn't make sense and emotional impact is unnecessary the immersion is broken from the start. After that misunderstanding is cleared and the characters finally get real there is another misunderstanding that causes another facepalm aspect of the movie. The whole characters manage to do what's obviously wrong in out of fundamental human behaviour way you wouldn't expect from real people and therefore they are meant to intentionally fail over and over again for emotional impact. Who said a movie is supposed to be suspenseful and emotionally intense like for these logic should be out of the window? The whole story is like the story writer played chess with themself and they did anything to checkmate.
The first half of an hour of the movie should have been reduced to like 10 minutes because of obvious answers and she ignoring reality just make you say "ugh" and facepalm. The worse is she doesn't even ask obvious questions to understand what's happening but somehow finds a way to assume things and make the situation turn worse.
Around the first 50th minute the unnecessary suspense finally be gone which should have happened 40 minutes ago and we experience the relief moment that only lasts for 10 minutes which is too short. And immediately after that another suspense start but this doesn't make sense at all and not clearly explained as the story writer clearly stopped caring about writing a story that makes sense even a little and for it they even ignored previous facts and real life logic and therefore it creates so much obvious plot holes you don't even have to watch carefully to realize.
I blame the fundamental problem of the movie for making it too long than necessary. If they had reduced the initial suspension from 40 minutes to 10 minutes by making the story make sense, if they had increased the relief moment and normal expectation of what real people would do from 10 minutes to 30 minutes and the last suspension didn't happen and instead they found a realistic way to make last reveal of the movie happened in a way last half of the movie becomes about the truth of the movie I would give the movie a solid 8. So much potential is wasted by intentionally trying anything to not make the movie way better than it could be probably because for some reason they didn't wanna add more than 4 characters and therefore tried to make especially 3 characters distract the audience from realizing how the movie don't make sense. The way it ended really don't mean anything for the audience to find it even interesting when it ended before the interesting aspect could ever start so whole movies can easily make you feel like your time is wasted over and over again. If they did such an ending for a sequel then no thanks. They barely could make this movie ok so I don't think a sequel would even matter at this point.
Coherence (2013)
Think in the box
The main idea is a movie take place in same house except sometimes they go out. This group of people constantly talk about random things throughout the whole movie which in 10 minutes they all start to sound like mosquitos, in that regard the usual friends group atmosphere successfully implented in the movie as intended. However the main idea of the movie is not realistic therefore there is no immersion.
A comet passing close and therefore in quantum-context the house and everything in it splitting into infinite amounts of existence and these infinite amount of houses and the group of people in it causing infinite amount of events is beyond nonsense in infinite degree like why numbers are in infinite amount and thus why there can be infinite amount of apples or stars, et cetera. The movie would be okay if the comet wasn't the reason why the events happening. It happening without a clear reason like it happened for some "natural" reason like how it was in Donnie Darko would really make sense.
Another aspect that don't make sense is people from the start being hostile to their own copies. It would be better and natural choice to try to cooperate instead of turning their own house into a country and start war with other houses. The idea is interesting but story didn't even try to make it logical.
Lastly the camera is not apropos for the theme of the movie at all. The existence of cameraman is very obvious therefore I wish they didn't shake the camera that much by zooming in and out a lot and I wish cameraman was a character in the movie so it would make sense why it seems like a character in the movie recording all the things happening because things are interesting and thus there would be a sense of video documentary. So many potential basically wasted.
Despite such an idea movie is wasted with too much random talk that everyone has way better chat with their own friends. Instead of these conversation actually interesting events could have happened at least for last half of the movie.
As most of the movie dilly-dally a lot suddenly they decided to wrap things up at the end of the movie so bored me to death. It was more like unintentionaly too much time spent in conversation like whole crew and all really forgot they were shooting a movie because they started to enjoy chatting and once they got bored they decided to end the movie in some way by spending less budget as much as they can.
La habitación de Fermat (2007)
It's actually only about psychology.
What this movie actually is: Giving a message about human nature, nothing more nothing less. Simple jealousy story. Not to entertain about mathematics, not to actually make you use your head, not to actually watch people being smart, not to care about any characters and wants happy ending for them. You know what's happening as the director from the start already gave the answer, you just watch the characters misunderstanding the situation because they are under stress but still people are so unrealistic they don't make sense.
In detail: The whole story written like the tv series "Lost". Nothing is how it seems like and everything is just part of an illusion to mislead you to think something else if you doubt because of what characters saying. Very similar to "Lost", characters ignore obvious facts and confuse themselves with assumptions they have no proof of. In the process they don't even actually focus on solving the questions, they naturally mostly try to escape but the way they try to escape is very unnecessary. It's like instead of building a bridge or something to cross the river they sit down and try to invent teleportation device. This human behavior doesn't make sense because real people focus on obvious questions and solution especially in panic state due to life and death situation therefore they use trail and error approach but you cannot see this fundamental human behavior in this movie. This is just because we can be sure whoever wrote the story never was in life and death situation and they expect people to sit down and think of how to survive when their body should have naturally triggered flight or fight response when they will believe they will die but in this movie characters not showing realistic reaction to the fact that they will likely to die horribly when their time is running out.
This movie's only relation to actual mathematics is how to understand a mathematical question is you gotta focus on the fact and values of the equation and thus figure out how to use values in logical way to determine how the result can be equated to the equation. So when you watch the movie from its 1 second watch it in a way the whole movie is a mathematical question but understand it in psychological POV. So, simple logic in this movie is black and white unrealistic human behavior of, for example, a character is very suicidal and like mental games so we figure out he is the person who will seriously do something about it in the first 6 minutes and thus what happens in the whole movie basically happens in very expected way but I have more reasons to think this wasn't even a plot hole director even tried to hide, otherwise why they gave the answer in 6 minutes? So what supposed to happen is characters has no idea about what's going on, not the audience so the audience should watch the movie in the way they facepalm to character doing wrong things due to lots of chains of misunderstanding cycle.
The movie at first seems like a riddle but it's not a riddle because in riddles question itself is the answer. But this movie is no different than simple logic questions for high school entrance exams filled with details intent to confuse you and these type of questions has the purpose of most easiest math questions for the students to judge their surface ability to solve simple logic questions for basic IQ testing. However in this movie such simple logic questions basically a part of story telling to confuse characters for psychological illusions so the other character can play mind game with them. So yeah/no, I'm not talking about the questions they have to solve in the movie per se, I'm talking more about what the character did to confuse other people. I'm not trying to belittle the movie as "the questions wasn't hard at all" as for the story's sake there is a reason for why the questions are simple as the character explains so. But the questions themself has no purpose of actually they have to be hard or even mathematical. That aspect of the movie is a tool for the human nature the director wanted to give as a message and to make the movie interesting in Agatha Christie way.
Technical detail of the movie: I did really like how these main actors playing, especially the cop character. They make the situation seem immersive and realistic. However the immersion is broken when you wouldn't expect such emotional expression from real people. So what I mean is all these main characters make you suspect if they are very professional theatre actors/actresses beside interested in mathematics. Real people don't behave like that. The movie is too emotionally expressive enough to break immersion when these emotional expressions don't make sense when behaviours not emotional like that. The director seem more like using text-book emotional impact and experiment about it in very intense way.
Cinematography is okay, I've seen worst but text-book cinematography used in intentional reverse way to try to confuse audiance that something might have happened but quickly this pattern of visual story-telling backfires as making you wake up from the immersion because events and how they are shown doesn't make sense especially because cinematography used very wrongly. When you break the rules of basic story telling it will be like a dream you wake up from because it stops making sense and lots of doubts and questions pile up as how this movie is.
Bad aspect of cinematography is characters focus on trivial details that doesn't make sense like camera zoom into some object and characters look at it for a long time but then this object has no relation or use for the story at all, you never even see it again. Good aspect of cinematography is some scenes visually were really cool.
The errors in the story: There are lots of human behaviors in the movie that doesn't make sense. Like a guy's car stops working and therefore try to fix it but he ignored a passerby car but doesn't ignore the other passerby car. It automatically make you question if it's a plot error or it's lazy writing to make the story forced to be in certain way to figure out the movie in 10 minutes since it starts and it makes you question the sense of mystery wasn't really intented because there are too much details in the movie over and over again that scream the answer. Basically the first 2 characters introduced and gave too much attention is like how figuring out age questions is. You know questions is about the age as there is lots of focus on the age so in this movie you figure out somehow these 2 characters very connection to each other in first 5 minutes. So naturally it's like watching some romantic drama that you as audiance aware who loves who but there is a misunderstanding of love triangle so you wait when these character will realize there is a huge misunderstanding for no good reason and one of them commit crime due to jealousy.
Since the story so doesn't make sense I'll go straight and mention main plot error. When the 5th person enter to the room, he directly says 5 of them should eat the dinner so they sit in a dinner table that has 5 chairs. The 5th person directly saying to people that they should eat the food instead of waiting for who actually called them to this event doesn't make sense when later we learned 5th person is also a guest and he also believed he is the guest. It's common sense to wait for the homeholder for dinner, guests never can feel entitled to start the dinner on their own. So 5th person never even questioning where is the person who called them and not even questioning who might be the homeholder very doesn't make sense when literally first thing he does after entering to room is "let's eat these food". Because of this misunderstanding the story gives errors over and over again for no realistic reason at all. In that regard clearly story written in a way they added details as they wrote the story so it doesn't make sense either way. It's like 2 person seemed married but oh no they weren't married, they were actually siblings, then we learned they were not sibling they were just spies and then they turned out to be an alien. The room wasn't actually on Earth but was on Mars. The car wasn't a car but actually was an animal made to look like a car. Really it's very boring story telling to watch.
As conclusion this idea of "death game of riddles" could have been better if the director didn't try to make the story telling self-updating mess and the movie was actually about the game, not about some guy being a kid bored to literally death and wanna have some kind of childish revenge like high school drama. The human nature message is not interesting or thought provoking especially because jealousy stories are very boring. They just tried to make things interesting but it would only interest little kids.
Noragami (2014)
The best anime I've ever watched.
I'm not saying other animes are bad. My favorite animes are Dragon Ball, Naruto, Angel Beats, One Punch Man and Howl's Moving Castle. I didn't watch much anime yet I watched most of the decent ones' at least a few episodes that are not some pervert primitive stuff yet why I never could continue watching them was just because it's cringy teen stuff. So for me this anime has its own special place among my favorite animes because it's not primitive, cringy teen and simple anime. I personally think it does something no other anime did before: it's an art because of its story to cinematography. The whole story is filled with symbolism and metaphor as much as how Holy Bible and Greek Mythology is to learn about humanity, their society and make sense of certain behavior of people and good thing is the way anime is very artistic. Because of its artistic POV alone makes this anime the best anime I've ever watched.
At first it seems like not so "good" but simple anime. A god tries to get popular and all and he having "ordinary" issues. Long enough you realize the story progression happens as a parable. Yet 1st season is not enough to judge the anime because the purpose of 1st season is to teach the audience enough information so the real anime can start in 2nd season. In 2nd season anime turns into allegory and things get serious, more complex as other characters join the story and plot thickens more and we learn the true nature of what it means to be a god so we understand why Yato being a god like that. As long as you don't understand the events literally the anime will make sense so you can enjoy it.
In general I liked how mature the anime is so it's an anime a full-grown person can watch without being cringed and find something relatable. Most animes are low-level teen media so they will be interesting and liked by kids so things are generic and simple and in that regard a bit perverted and primitive in general. That's why watching Noragami was a fresh breath when it's not like how most animes are.
I especially liked the anime because it doesn't bore you with fight scenes. Fight scenes are mostly short and the long ones are very rare and cool enough to satisfy yourself which I never watched such scenes in any fighting scene I ever saw.
At first anime being about a god kinda indicates a religious theme which I was not interested for that to start watching this anime because religion is so generic and therefore boring. I was more interested in how funny anime seems like due to lone god doing anything it can do to get popular plot. I won't say its sense of humor is the best around yet it can manage to put a smile on your face from time to time. The anime knows when to get serious and when to get funny unlike most medias existed. And most importantly instead of using simple religious ideas in most simple and generic way as how most medias do they took religion to another level and even explained what most popular religions trying to explain in a better way and gave you a good lecture about being a human and what really a god is and how a god can be. In that regard anime has its own lore and mythology that's not so simple as known mythologies. Most mythologies are about simple human stuff like lying, being a fool, cheating partner et cetera so it's boring. This anime is beyond that. They explore deep down in what is being a human is and they even get deep down on what's being a god is and the relation between god and humans. In that regard this anime offers a unique POV on religious ideas without being actually religious.
I admit I never watched an anime that made me use my head that much since Death Note but why it's so is not the same as Death Note. In Death Note you think more about what will happen next, in this anime you think more about what's happening right now and why anything happens. Especially in 2nd season you need lots of brain power to understand all the metaphors and analogies until the end. The thing is whatever happens has heavy complex emotions to process perhaps way more than complex ideas to process too.
The only bad aspects I can see in this anime are unnecessary bathing scenes of a particular little girl character, she is a school girl therefore she is mostly in her uniform so in certain situations her skirt is all over the place so her underwear is in plain sight a lot in perverted way and unnecessary romance fishbait that leads to nowhere that especially gets too much in 2nd season. This is not supposed to be a pornography and romance anime so stop adding such scenes as it breaks immersion. Seriously whoever made this stuff seems like they in love with that girl character.
Too bad 3rd season is not out yet but it should be. Until then I'll try not to forget who is Yato but I make no promises.
Peaky Blinders (2013)
Persistent Blindness
Peaky Blinders were a real gang but for some reason they didn't even make them close to real and instead they just used their name and made their existence filled with lots of fictional content. So when you see the name is "Peaky Blinders" you would want to watch this gang trying to survive against other gangs as the tv series could be about this rivalry and also telling at least a fictional story of many rival gangs and coppers as it's the history of the real Peaky Blinders. For the era it takes place the tv series is very simple, narrow-minded as how a race horse see the world and too off and therefore a bit of utter daft so much at some point plot losts the plot that you want the story to actually crack on but it never does while whole tv series faffing around. It seems more like they got some sets lying around getting dusty and they had the staff not working but still getting paid so they decided to use the assets dilly-dally without a decent thought and the result is Peaky Blinders.
The tv series makes Peaky Blinders and that era very fictionalized as the main plot never happened in real life and how it even happens doesn't make sense. Something like a national treasury stolen randomly and accidentally and the whole crown wasn't even protecting it. The plot itself is bollocks. On the top of the bloody plot the fictional character who is supposed to be one of the leaders of the Peaky Blinders called Tommy Shelby is one of the most bollocks characters in the history of tv series. Because of this no episode makes sense and too much deus ex machinas to prevent this character who always makes a bad choice in every chance he gets being saved from turning into a murder victim and being fish food in the Thames. Everyone goes very too far with other characters except Tommy Shelby so even the very same psychopath bloke literally asks Tommy Shelby for a dinner in a fancy clean restaurant for a lovely tea time to talk with him when the very same person was almost killing his brother by he and his men beating him just to talk before. Not to mention Tommy Shelby did beat a person to death just because he laughed at this brother for trivial matter but Tommy Shelby doesn't do anything to people who beat the same brother to dead before. Nothing makes sense in this tv series. The character is a wise saint in one second and a rabid dog hungry for blood in another second. He becomes Nikola Tesla a second and the other second he becomes an utter fish. The bloke is inconsistent as much as how London's weather is during summer.
Considering the era social-wise the tv series doesn't make sense either. Men being kitten to the words of a woman and men basically respecting a person way younger than him enough to do what he says in Winston Churchill's England is nothing heard of. The writer clearly wanted to produce an italian gang drama but failed miserably as somehow british people acts like italians like the director asked for italian gang drama but channel thought they didn't wanna see another italian gang drama on telly so for a change they decided with british gang drama so the director just made spaghetti with eggs and soldiers.
Cinematography-wise director clearly not an artist. Fundamentally all the music choices are wrong and they even play in wrong time. You can hear genres that was not invented at that era like jazz, blues and even indie rock in america that's popular since 2010s. The only British you can hear soundtrack-wise is some occasional British punk rock from 1970s in that regard soundtrack hopping on TARDIS from time to time but this ain't Doctor Who.
As for characters themselves, they don't even speak British English most of the time and most of them's accent is just fake if they even have an accent. Vocabulary of characters unrealistic for such low class people as in they have rich but simple vocabulary more fitting to american cartoons. Especially Tommy Shelby played by Cillian Murphy has no accent or anything British about him, I don't even know the bloke but that's as far as I can tell he ain't British that doesn't matter in this world but does matter when he plays the main character of Peaky Blinders so he was a bad bloke to choose for the role. Not to mention he is a bad actor. His facial experession is always the same no matter what.
Another problem of the tv series is how historically unaccurate how people are in general. Like in that era you wouldn't expect women having clean and all hair like they washing their hair with Tresemmé or something thrice a day as in their hair obviously was always in good care. Not to mention most people generally have clean bodies and clothes and their teeth are on par with royal family of the time. Also their skin shows no sign of usual skin issues of the time especially due to not being properly cleaned.
The direction the tv series had not much different from what you can sniff out from its first episode so don't expect anything decent from it later. It's just about the ordinary life of ordinary people having nonsense issues just for a tool to make it a plot and that's it and the way things happening could have been better, still ordinary but interesting yet they have no care to make it interesting. Obviously channel had no other tv series to make people dilly-dally watching telly therefore they didn't even bother with making it decent to watch. Its only use is watching it instead of a ceiling.
Ender's Game (2013)
Ender's Trash
First of all, I wanna say I didn't read the book but if I had read it I know I would hate the movie more and couldn't even enjoy some scenes a little.
So an alien ship comes to Earth. The movie never gives information on why these aliens came. It looks like they were just passing and humans started to attack it for no reason. A character explains they were after stealing water but if you had primary school education you may know how far the closest planet that may have life is so until they can come here they can supply lots of water they can use until the universe is no more so it doesn't make sense why would an alien race come to Earth to steal water. If the alien race wanted to destroy humanity they wouldn't send one ship anyway. They can just send a big rocket that can destroy the planet. They left the answer for the audience to figure out or decide but this is not The Matrix that the philosophy is fun to think of in the Matrix. There is no philosophy or decent scientific POV in this movie.
So in this initial attack millions of alien space ship cannot attack one military jet of human even though you see they fire at him and he eventually kamikaze to alien ship. It just doesn't make sense.
Another no logical aspect of the movie is aliens are literally bugs but how could they even build a spaceship when they lack hands that can do complex stuff with fingers? I had a theory that they were used by another alien race to draw humanity to trap them or something but the story actually doesn't exist. There are aliens and humanity wanna destroy it. The plot is that simple.
The initial battle with aliens looked so easy I have no idea why humanity gave the same reaction to it as in real life some countries reacted to WW1 because they were almost erased from history and became slaves of European countries as a race so much for a century their whole society is militaristic and mandatory military service is must for citizens, at least only for males.
Technological advancement of humanity doesn't make sense. In a short time like 50 years they can travel between galaxies when the initial attack was made with ordinary military planes of today.
I understand it may make sense to whoever wrote the story when they use a child to make them a soldier but the story doesn't make sense so much all the high-ranking leaders of the military look for a kid who can be the commander of the entire fleet that can destroy these aliens. Yeah, among all real deal soldiers who have very high rank what Ender does suppose to be something no one can do but in reality it's not. Ender is not actually a rare person. It's just everyone around him, especially other kids are just unrealistically bad because even though they live in such a situation they act like kindergarten kids even the kids who are supposed to be so special they were chosen for the special school in the space yet especially one of them absolutely have mental issues that in reality he couldn't even past to middle school. So if the story made sense Colonel Graff and the legendary soldier Mazer Rackham could lead the entire fleet.
The movie made battle arena games too long while for no good reason focused so much on that. And to make that chapter not boring for pervert guys they introduced a girl that was unusually friendly and flirty to Ender. It just doesn't make sense.
One of the guys in this special school is clearly mentally ill which in a real army such people cannot have a rank and cannot be tasked with anything important in war situations. When there is no war situation such people would be kicked out of the army yet for the story point to make things dramatic, even though high ranking officers are aware of the situation they let him basically kill the chosen kid but it backfired so the chosen kid almost killed him. Why he cried like a baby for self-defense that crazy toxic kid doesn't make sense.
Around this part of the movie whoever wrote the script decided what happening in the background of the story that they didn't show us. So Ender is sleeping for a 5 seconds but it turns out it been a while like a month. The hell? Not to mention according to the movie time doesn't exist. You can get a sense of everything that happened in 10 minutes or 1 year. Cannot decide which. If you judge the time by scenes and what happens you can say entire of the entire movie takes place at least in 2 months.
So we see aliens are coming to Earth and they will arrive in 28 days yet after that scene we watch Ender's Karate Kid-esque "training" scene for a long time and after that scene Ender cries they practicing for a month so where are the aliens?
That being said aliens were seeming to attack Earth but in reality actually they don't care and they looking for water around the universe.
The movie tries to make Ender a genius who figures out stuff magically but it doesn't make sense how he couldn't figure out simulations weren't actually simulations.
Ender genocide entire alien species and thus wins the battle without even knowing but loses his humanity by dying inside so they make him faint so he can calm down. After he wakes up and runs outside no one from the base but the girl runs after him. And he finds an alien bug just outside of the base. It doesn't make sense when they didn't scan the area at all. And the alien gives Ender the baby queen alien bug but why the hell they were there in the first place?
So we learn that the alien tried to tell Ender where it's and it basically doesn't make sense. Why tell the enemy where you are?
Why Ender felt personally obligated to take care of the alien bug and how no one decided to check on what the hell Ender doing doesn't make sense. They basically made him admiral and gave him space ship so he could do whatever he wanted all alone. The hell?
Overall Ender seemed like a promising character but since the movie is bad character cannot be good. I especially liked the "battle orchestra" scenes around the end of the movie and that's much about it.
And finally I have to drop the bomb on the really stupid aspect of the movie. For a long time we watched battle games in the special school in space in which students used their own bodies and pistols to fight but due to the scale and type of the battle they were preparing none of these kids actually used their own bodies and weapons to fight the war. They basically used space ship so they should have invested in spaceship education instead of firearms and close combat fighting. After all in the movie all the power of these alien race is their space ship so no one would ever punch space ships or attack them with fire arms, they have space ships instead after all LOL.
Miscellaneous things that don't make sense:
None of the students seems like military students at all. They don't have the tough, prideful, protective and caring attitude at all. Not even a cliche American soldier attitude at all.
For some reason girls are free to have long hairs even in space.
Part of real-life military training involves no distraction that includes no contact with family and no playing games. Books are used to educate soldiers and offer a sense of entertainment for their very rare and short free time if they ever have it. That being said soldiers are intentionally forced to be bored so to have fun they will naturally do their work and educate themselves in any way the army allows them. Yet in this movie soldiers have access to a video game console that they can use to play a game and who knows what. And Ender also sends lots of email to his sister only but the movie doesn't explain why Ender has no care for his parents. Ender seemed to be sexually interested in his own sister and his sister seemed to feel the same. Their whole relationship is never explained and is very awkward.
Ender's family and society's take on making babies seems more complex than the movie actually cares to tell. For some reason Ender gives importance to being the 3rd kid and his parents made comments like making 3rd kid illegal or something. I guess people need a licence or permission to make 3rd kids.
Foundation (2021)
They have no idea what's mathematics.
I see the very same problem in every Christopher Nolan movie. Science is not magic even though technology can be like magic but I won't lecture you on that. I'll simply state whoever wrote the story of this TV series believes you can predict the future with just mathematics. The real problem is you cannot predict what will happen 500 years later because you cannot know what kind of unknown factors can affect the future among the factors that exist now or the factors that will exist in 500 years yet the wrong way that mathematics used to write the whole plot is foundation of The Foundation.
Society in this TV series also doesn't make sense. In an era when humanity builds their nations on faraway planets and people can manage to travel faster than light cultural-wise people living in the medieval age. For a writer who claims a person can easily predict a future couldn't even predict the likely future of humanity theoretically. Instead they decided to make it Game of Thrones in space yet they failed.
To give you an idea on how bad storytelling is I can give you spoiler free example from the first episode. From the first minute of the first episode you hear a woman talking which seems like she is the main character and just after that you watch random little boys. So who was that woman? You can only assume who was she later. After 35 minutes of the TV series cinematography is out of the window for good. It's clearly an editing problem because unrelated scenes are shown after unrelated scenes which makes it impossible for you to get what actually happening. Most of the first episode you are left to guess what actually happening and what happens that you can be sure of doesn't make sense.
The writer didn't predict a future unlike the main character, instead the writer force events to make a particular future happen in their own way. That's why what people do in this series doesn't make sense. It's simple as the writer wants to make the character die so even though the character is not suicidal, doesn't have any mental problem or something they inject poison into their bloodstream and die after they say "opps". The hell is this story?
The law system in so advanced civilization is like doesn't exist. People kill anyone they want, arrest anyone they want when obviously they are innocent. The law doesn't exist, whoever owns the nation does whatever they want and nobody does anything about it for centuries. If the society was realistic monarchy wouldn't exist anyway because people would start rebellion and/or businessmen would get rid of the king because of how bad monarchy is for law, society and business. Why do you think the French Revolution happened?
You see people come and go and meet people but they don't state their name, what they do for living or why they even talking with the character. Like the girl is arrested, the woman comes and says her name but doesn't state who is she and why she is here but the character is magically aware of who they are so they start to talk in a subject you have no idea of. In a way this TV series is like reading someone's diary because the diary is not written for others to understand. This TV series is not different. Events are forced without any logical connection between each other. Some events happen without any explanation for the audience and the worst is characters also forget the events that happened so all you do is guessing. The real problem is storytelling should be in the way the audience can be sure of what's happening yet this TV series is not different than what a primary school kid would write and direct.
If you have no care for the story but just wanna watch space or something sure watch it why not but even when you don't care about story, story progression and foundation of the logic under the story just don't make sense and therefore cringy.
Angelyne (2022)
Okay, it's Angelyne but so what?
Before I start my review I have to mention I watched the whole mini-series having no idea Angelyne actually exists in real life. What kind of tv series takes a real person and makes a fictionalised fake documentary about the person and don't even mention she is a real-life person? From the start making a real-life person a metarial for a TV series and not mentioning she actually exists is like ignoring a person's existence. I would never allow such a thing to happen to me and even after I died I wouldn't want it to happen. You can throw my dead body into a trash can but never ever turn me into a fictionalised character for the entertainment of people. If I had known the vital information that this person actually existed I would actually cared what I was watching because I watched it just for its idea to confirm how easy to be actually famous and earn money by inventing a job and this character found the easiest way for it and I wanted to confirm if things would happen in the way I always thought it would and it did in this tv series. Even the existence of this mini-series indicate how right I was.
If you weren't born in America you probably had no idea Angelyne actually existed like I did until like an hour ago. When you don't know she existed it makes you question what was the point that they actually bothered to create such a tv show and therefore you might wanna watch it for that. What's the point of this tv series anyway? Even when she is real-life person her idea and her existence is not enough for the entertainment of a visual media. Her life is just interesting from business POV to learn and educate yourself how such things work in the world. In that regard tv series deserves 8/10 especially because how ridiculous but realistic whatever happens in the tv series is and it makes things funny.
But turning a real-life person into a fictional media is one of the worst things you can do to a person. It makes you question how much is true about that person and I never believe even the most faintful documentaries fair on showing the person truthfully. It's cringy that someone else plays as you like you don't exist and you as a fictional character only exist in the script someone wrote for entertainment. In a way it's like they turned real-life Angelyne into a zoo animal. They bring their family and watch the animals in the zoo for their primitive entertainment.
Since I know she exist I can safely say Angelyne is very overrated and not famous at all. She is no different than any people who existed since humans existed who did anything to be in history books or famous in general. But I'm glad to watch this because whatever this fictional Angelyne thought kinda how I always thought. Especially about how everyone should choose their name and how past of a person is not equal to knowing them. Past doesn't matter. What matters is now. In that regard for me every time Angelyne said she is not Rachel I agreed. Rachel is no more, there is only Angelyne now. If the real Angelyne is like that I would want to talk to her because at this point she is like my soul sister. In that regard best part of the tv series is learning how Angelyne thinks about life and all and I personally agree and think like how Angelyne in this tv series is at some degree but our difference is I have no care to be famous and I wouldn't had that body and wouldn't do primitive stuff just to sell my tshirt.
But when you judge this tv series as a tv series it's pretty much an obvious 1/10 for anyone because it's not what society would want to watch especially if she didn't exist. The fact that she was real was the point of even creating and airing this tv series but even then it was not good enough. It's like they had no better idea to use and they just used something so easy and it was Angelyne as how Angelyne took the most easiest way and advertised herself to be famous and earn money. Perhaps in her mind she believe she helping people enjoy life and escape from whatever is negative but no one ever needed Angelyne. Angelyne is just like Coca Cola. You can survive without it and instead of drinking it you can get your positivity from something else. At this point I even question if Angelyne was even known outside of Hollywood as much as this tv series only will be known by people who know and care about Angelyne and people like me who randomly saw it advertised when they were checking for new tv series these days. Other than Martin Freeman none of the people in this tv series is actually famous enough to make this tv series even known around. They knew this but then why they even released this tv series beats me. I guess Angelyne using TV as her billboards anymore or something. Didn't you guys have better things to turn into tv series? I guess the next tv series idea will be turning IShowSpeed into tv series LMAO.
Isekai ojisan (2022)
Anime from Another World
So in 2000 a 17 old gamer kid was hit by a truck while he was going to buy a video game and therefore he was in a coma for 17 years. While he was in a coma he went to another world of classic fantasy world that has elves, magic and all the fantasy world cliches from old video games. Nothing new or interesting about it.
All this anime is about a person who got old but left behind in time so much he is still SEGA fanboi who considers it was the golden age of video gaming when SEGA still developed a video game console. He also uses some ancient cell phone just because it's cool for him even though it cannot even make a call, he is that old fashioned. Anime tries to show love for SEGA video game consoles and video games but in reality all it does is making SEGA, its fanbois, even gamers in general look bad. In that regard since they use SEGA's and its consoles' name without censoring or changing the name it indicates they were approved by SEGA and it also means SEGA was okay to make themselves look bad as in their fans are the garbage of society and gamers are weird people. That's what the anime is actually about when it's not busy with unrealistically perverted characters, especially women and that's all about it.
Story progression is all over the place. Until 6th episode nothing particularly happens and the same thing happens over and over again whether it's the same humor, same conversations and even the same story points, not to mention same reactions of people to same situations over and over again several times in each episode. It shows what happened, then what happened later and what happened before all this and what happened again and what happened later in detail and so on and imagine this cycle continues until 6th episode. Clearly whoever wrote the story had no idea what to wrote but wrote it as they wanted to add stuff but to get back into the story to progress in their own way they wanted to trigger the same events with the same triggers. In 6th episode anime start to show potential and after that story starts to progress but still nothing interesting actually happens. So after you watched 1st episode you can skip to 6th episode and you wouldn't miss anything important as 6th episode is kinda summary of the episodes between 1-6.
During the whole anime there are like 10 people but the whole anime revolves around 3 main people and they get boring so fast, especially the kid who expects his uncle to be a pervert as much as him and the anime tries to make being a pervert how everyone should be when anime is not busy making SEGA, its products and gamers look bad. Whoever wrote the story probably believes just because a girl looked at him she is in love with him and it's stupid to don't believe so. And because of how badly the characters and situations are written any kid who watches and likes it would start to have bad opinions about life, especially thinking gamers are equal to garbage people, it's a must thing to be a pervert as women just wait for you to "get in" so you have to rape them as it's what they want, any people who wears glasses is ugly especially when they have long hair. Not to mention how women characters are out of virgin male fantasy.
Humor and graphical style-wise it's clearly One Punch Man wannabe but they couldn't manage to actually make it funny. In fact there is no single thing to smile for anything in the anime.
Nothing in the anime is satisfying as the story didn't progress much and story-wise it seems like there has to be lots of stuff to happen for an ending as if they are releasing One Piece but even 13 episodes were too much for this anime. It would be better as a movie.
In short it's an anime from another world because it's not like any visual media I watched. Everything is so amateurish and they didn't care what people like, how to develop a visual media for the audience and all so they did their own thing and it was a mess. I only watched it just because a friend recommended it just because it's about SEGA video game consoles so I promised I'll watch it so we can talk about it and I kept watching it for the references. I don't think you would like it if you are not a fan of the genre, SEGA video game consoles and its games. But even then this anime made me consider burning my SEGA Genesis along with its games I didn't bother slamdunk into the nearest garbage bin. I stopped buying SEGA games just because how greedy they are years ago anyway. Now liking SEGA is a sign of you are a garbage person as it's how SEGA wants to be clearly LOL.
Biohazard: Death Island (2023)
Stupid Evil: Living Dead Island
I only played RE 0 to 4 (I stopped playing RE games since 4th because the series turned into a stupid action game to satisfy new generation kiddos and later they turned to series to pervert BS) but I have no idea how things ended up here in this movie so I have no idea why/how Jill got brain controlled by Wesker and I have no idea about super humans and Leon's deal with the blonde woman as the movie never explains it. I also watched the first 2 RE movies but since they butchered the story with remake BS so much I didn't watch the rest of its movies so I have no idea if this movie is a continuation of the games or the movies but as they figured no one would watch this movie for its story therefore story actually doesn't exist and therefore what exist is stupid. So a person who has no relation to classic Resident Evil games shouldn't watch this movie at all as they won't even understand this movie.
In RE 2 and 3 we learn Umbrella soldiers had no idea they were clueless pawns. So in this movie it turned out one of that Umbrella soldiers somehow survived and started to hate the world so much he developed his own type of zombie virus he plans to spread to the whole world. In that regard "you burned me so you burn too" evil decision as a revenge plot is stupid and therefore plot is too forced. How this guy even did what he did, where he found the budget and all never explained. Not to mention USA government just let someone use Alcatraz for whatever they want to do and they have no proper protection for their own property. Just wow. Not to mention there are super sci-fi laser guns in Alcatraz just lying around there. The hell? In that regard the movie cannot reflect how USA and USA people are correctly. So when a zombie outbreak had started in the USA half of the civilians would draw their guns but in this movie they just cry and run like a baby LOL. In that regard I have no idea why Resident Evil series is not banned in USA as whole main plot of the franchise make USA look so bad and weak which is opposite of how USA try to make their country and people seem so capable and strong. So what Capcom doing is some mental terrorism against USA and its people to calumniate about them to whole world. Wake up America!!! LOL.
We all wanted to watch this movie because all the classic Resident Evil characters in one movie as it was almost satisfying but it would be okay if they didn't butcher characters too. They are very experienced and all but half of the time they cannot shoot at all. The only character they made it seem so powerful was Jill and even Leon didn't look half great. Plot-wise they have to wear protective gear to protect their whole bodies from zombies but they don't wear apropos for the occasion, especially Jill as she wears the exact clothes she wore 2 decades ago. They don't even think of getting gas mask or something for in case the damn virus may spread via air.
The stupid evil guy is a classic cartoon evil guy except instead of laughing a lot he hits his cane to the floor a lot which gets annoying fast. He is also an edgy teen enough to play Russian roulette with himself a lot. The plot is even stupid enough to make this guy really believe he doing something good and anyone who tries to stop him is evil or some BS. Yet he is stupid enough to not kill these characters when he had the chance. Nevertheless perhaps the most BS thing in the movie is why women characters have not aged at all despite all these decades but all the men characters almost look like grandpa. This may be valid for Asians but it doesn't happen to non-Asian people like these characters are.
I watched its English dub. The only character I could understand well enough was Jill, most of the time I couldn't even understand what Chris and his sister saying. Chris's voice was always like a cow screaming due to extreme pain as he looks like a cow and about to explode. Also the visuals were so bad. Saturation was almost black and white and contrast was too low while brightness and gamma was so high.
Another point of this movie is action therefore from the first minute of the movie the stupid action starts and rarely stops but action-wise it was boring AF. For example, John Wick series is known to be so action focused but at least action-wise it's not boring. So in this movie action is not even generic, they just stand there and aim their pistol and shoot. There are rarely different action scenes. In that regard movie can get so stupid regarding weapons characters use later on like Jill use shotgun to shoot from very far far away like she using pistol and Chris and Leon using some giant heavy AF some rocket launcher that they have to assemble and use together. What kind of BS weapon is that? And you would expect what he shoots would be some mini-nuclear rocket but it almost didn't cause any explosion at all. If Chris exploded as he always looks like it he would cause lots of explosion instead LOL.
Overall this movie doesn't add anything to the franchise. Watch it if you wanna see these characters in one movie and it's all about it. It would be better if they had released its video game so we could play as these characters with our friends but Capcom suck at business as always. I would prefer God Hand remake or God Hand 2 instead of tons of new Resident Evil BS though.
Batman Begins (2005)
Fear of a Bad Movie Begins
The whole movie is some high-budget but poorly executed garbage. The script is plain nonsense that you wouldn't believe it's the script of the movie if you never heard about the script before. Even as I watched the movie I had a hard time believing they seriously wrote that nonsense script for this high-budget movie where a famous director and lots of famous actors are part of it.
The whole theme of the movie is fear as in every minute people literally say the word "fear" and/or "scare" and they talk about overcoming fear or being in fear. Constantly people are scared and feeling fear. They needed a reason for the main guy to have a relation to fear and it starts with bats.
"Fear fear fear fear..."
So a rich kid called Bruce Wayne jumps on the well that's around his house to hide from a little girl because he stole her arrowhead and for some reason the well is not properly taken care of so the kid falls down in it and starts to suffer from a phobia for bats instead of death. The nonsense thing is Bruce is still alive and well in the well he fell even though it's like he fell the height of some 2 stories building (+ ground level). Besides when you have a kid and money you take care of such stuff but Wayne family didn't care their only child might fall into it.
Instead of such a stupid scene they could make these kids finds the cave and being attacked by bats.
"Fear fear fear fear..."
And then he and his parents goes to a show but for some reason they use the back door of the building to exit instead of the main door and therefore in the back alley a criminal jumps on them. You are rich so why do you even walk in the back alley? Just go out from the main gate, hop into your expensive car and go to your expensive house, right? The criminal is jumpy therefore basically for no reason he murders the kid's parents so thus his fear of criminals starts.
Instead of such a stupid scene they could make them go to their car that's in front of the building and when Mr. Wayne or Mrs. Wayne was about to take out their wallet the guy could think it's a gun and shoot them.
"Fear fear fear fear..."
It turns out the city called Gotham is very corrupt so a particular underground crime lord makes rich people richer, poor people poorer. This makes the crime rate go high and rich people basically sell and backstab people for their selfish gains. Eventually the kid grows up and becomes the American Psycho and he realizes the nature of Gotham. So basically for no good reason he decides to experience what's being poor and criminal is he ships himself to some Asian country and becomes a criminal and thus he gets himself jailed.
Instead of such a stupid story point Bruce could hire some teachers to teach him psychology or something. It's not that a medical doctor has to be sick to be a doctor, right?
"Fear fear fear fear..."
In jail Obi-wan's master Qui-Gon Jinn tells him he can give him what he looking for. All he has to do is find a blue flower in the mountain. After that scene we have no idea what actually happened as the cinematography is so bad all the time it's like a mix of Resident Evil 1 and some old Chinese fighting movies but it looks like they throw Bruce off the truck but why? If Bruce escaped then why they were even outside of the prison and the guards in the truck would notice he escaped. Anyway, Bruce finds the blue flower and starts to randomly walk and climb some mountains and finds a building where he finds Qui-Gon Jinn like he sensed a high force user. Qui-Gon Jinn basically tells him he can teach Bruce how to be a ninja and beats him so Bruce can overcome his fears. Bruce agrees before he faints and eventually he learns the way to be a ninja and overcomes his fears. For his final exam they bring a criminal and ordered Bruce to execute the criminal but he says no. The leader of the ninjas tells him the ninja organization exist for a very long time and their current goal is to take down Gotham. So they are like in China, Gotham is in America so why do they have anything to do with Gotham anyway? It doesn't make sense. Anyway Bruce refuses to execute the criminal because he keeps saying "legal justice is important and I'm not executioner" especially because the woman he simps for is a lawyer so he blows up the whole building to kill (execute) everyone but himself and Qui-Gon Jinn. I have no idea why he even spared Qui-Gon Jinn. I guess Bruce has a crush on him.
Instead of such a stupid story point Bruce could hire some teacher to teach him how to be a ninja in Gotham.
In the meanwhile they spread false news of Bruce died so they can use his company in any way they want. Bruce returns to Gotham and everyone basically forgets about that nonsense and everyone returns to their normal life. Bruce knows about this nonsense but he doesn't do anything because he is an idiot. Bruce learns his company develops stuff for soldiers (just why?) so he uses all the tech and gear to be Batman.
Instead of such a stupid story point Bruce should have made these greedy people get out and start developing some weapon, armor and whatever tech he needs.
"I'm the Batmaaaan."
While he hangs around Gotham as Batman no one even thinks Batman attacks people who are the reason for his parents' death, as how his parents were legally was Batman is basically after helping Gotham, Batman clearly using expensive gears so he must be rich and all the dots connect to Bruce Wayne, right? Even secrecy of the identity of Superman makes way more sense.
Instead of such stupid story point people should have suspected Batman is Bruce Wayne.
"I'm the night."
Also Bruce Wayne is shown as a very famous guy enough to buy a hotel just so his stupid hostess girls can swim in the decorative pond but it makes you question why he doesn't buy the whole law system so he can end the corruption? Instead the crime lord buys them and he uses the whole law system to do whatever he wishes. Bruh moment.
Instead of this stupid story point Bruce at least have to attempt buying law system but people mention they are not into the money but they fear from the possibility of they and their loved ones being killed by some bad guys.
"I'm the danger."
In the meanwhile for some reason Bruce's company developed a weapon that only destroys water with some magical nonsense by using microwaves because in reality such a thing cannot happen so whoever wrote the story clearly didn't have primary school education. So some people steals the device.
Bruce is also so stupid he probably left school in 3rd grade or something because when someone tells him some 6th-grade science stuff he doesn't understand it. No wonder, eh Mr. Writer?
Instead of such a stupid story point they could have created a character like Bruce Wayne but he just believes Gotham is corrupted so much everyone has to die and make such a guy the only villain in the movie.
So Bruce is so stupid enough to make himself seem like the most dangerous terrorist world ever known therefore cops ignore all the criminals, blackmails and bribery and they all focus only on Batman while Batman deals with cops and criminals. At this point of the movie you have no idea what Batman is even thinking if he does think. Basically for no reason he fights with cops and doesn't care to kill them LOL.
Instead of such story point the Bruce could have the medicine on him so no need to ruin the whole city.
After this point the movie is full of cliches and plot twists, not to mention most of the action scenes are unnecessarily zoomed in. There is even the stupid cliche "you were my best student". Just nope.
I just cannot believe this movie has so high such a rating. I guess mostly shills gave such high score to draw people to buy a ticket to cover up a ridiculously high budget.
So Batman may have begun but my review and interest in this series ended. No thanks, bro.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010)
Not so bad magical movie.
Imagine a movie like a Karate-Kid but the kid learning how to be a wizard, this is that kind of movie as the name of the movie indicates and it's decent about being such a movie.
I admit for years I didn't want to watch it just because how cringe its poster is because a kid throws kamehameha like he is some Dragon Ball character. In the movie seeing such "Ki" attacks was cringy but at least it was not all there is. There was also good old magic tricks and traps you can't see in Harry Potter movies.
In general I liked the theme of the movie. It uses the legend of Merlin and they made sorcery make sense like to make stuff burn you feel the vibration of the object and increase the speed of the vibration. Wizards actually use their knowledge and understanding of the law of physics to do magic which is a cool idea for a sorcery story. It's not stupid like Harry Potter movies where they say some stuff and wave their stick.
At the beginning the way the movie tell the story of the past was so cringy due to the weird cinematography enough for me to almost close the movie but I was eating so it was better to keep watching the movie until I'm done eating instead of looking at ceiling but I'm glad I kept watching it. After the beginning sequence the cinematography gets decent.
I liked how the movie has references for many things - It was a great cheery on top.
If you will like the movie or not really depends on if you will like one of the protagonists called "Prime Merlinean". He is a nerd and chatty like Spider-Man/Peter Parker, at least sometimes he can crack a little joke and can be fun sometimes. The guy who play as Prime Merlinean really acts very decently. It's like they didn't tell him they are shooting a movie LOL. Sometimes it's basically fun to watch him react to things. Also regarding the reaction of people in the movie, people make realistic reactions to seeing something supernatural which is a great plus for the movie. Usually in movies to don't waste time characters are so ready to accept and go with the flow of any BS they experience LOL.
It's one of the rare movie that doesn't have obvious plot holes or any errors except The Twin Towers is missing in the year 2000 of New York but it's probably intentional to not make people remember the one of the saddest day. You gotta also consider how these kind of movies are like parallel universe stories just because the events of the movie cannot happen in real life so no wonder what exist and what doesn't exist in particular time is different in these movies comparing to real life.
Lastly soundtrack of the movie is very good which is rare. Thanks to the movie I could learn a song called "New Life" by O+S. I was hungry for a new song these days. It's rare for me to find a good song that has good lyrics that are greatly harmonized with a good melody. The rest of the songs were not so bad.
