Inspiring story - A must watch!
24 August 2020
A village boy's dream of building a machine to ease his mother's pain is an ambition that everyone can relate to. This is the kind of ambition, the kind of dreams that people have.

The story is a stark reminder that the English-medium education system that has been imposed on people creates inequality, inaccessibility to innovation and overall poverty. Despite overwhelming odds including the language in which the subject is written, Mallesham learns all the concepts, and using his innate engineering ability, he builds a machine to help automate the yarn process.

A truly inspiring story that should shame the urban class elites who are obsessed with a foreign language - who think that knowing an invader's language is the epitome of educational or academic achievement. Not only that, pushing English-medium education to everyone has become a government policy. This must be stopped!

Even a student in the movie says, "What do we do - just byheart everything so we can pass in the exams. But you, your practical knowledge and application is way beyond what we can do.."

The movie is a reminder that if only education was available in the native language of the region, people would have access to everything to innovate and truly rise above the inequality that English has created in our country.

This movie is wonderfully made and is a must watch for all ages!

Don't miss this production masterpiece!
20 December 2019
When the credits began rolling, I was extremely surprised and proud at the fantastic production and effort put into creating this movie. I regret missing watching this movie in the theaters!

The story revolves around the life of Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy, a chieftain of 66 villages in Renadu. The movie shows how he is inspired from childhood to fight against the East India Company who have looted his people and the entire region from many decades.

What I really loved about the movie is the top class production and brilliant dialogues and conversations between people. There are many lines that are life inspiring and life changing if they can be understood and internalized. This was a refreshing experience and is a testament to the amazing potential of our dialogue writers.

This movie is an important landmark for the Telugu film industry since it re-iterates the hope that the Telugu film industry has amazing potential and has not yet not been corrupted by Anti-cultural forces that have now taken over the Tamil and Malayalam film industries. The movie showcases the importance of our culture and more importantly, why it must be preserved and fought for.

Narasimha Reddy was mostly alone in his fight against the British in the early part of the movie. Although this was shown as typical hero-worship action sequences from the perspective of movie making, it is important to understand that in the early days of independence struggle, most fighters were mainly alone. It was only after their victories that people began to self realize that they need to take part and support freedom fighters in the struggle for freedom. This transition was also showcased well in the movie.

What is life and war without traitors and greedy people? This is a must watch since it provides an important reminder of how despite having internal conflicts or disagreements, one must always unite against a common foreign enemy. Failing to do so will cause irreparable damage.

At 2 hours and 50 minutes, this is a long movie, but I enjoyed every single bit of it since it shows how much effort was put in to make this movie. This is a movie with extremely high production quality. A highly recommended watch for people of all ages. Don't miss this!

Majestic presentation of Rani Jhansi
26 January 2019
A presentation of this history has been long due especially when it is concerning one of the greatest leaders of the freedom movement against the British.

Kangana Ranaut's screen presence is not only captivating, but also mesmerising. She brings everything to life.

Some important events happen quick, so it's best to pay full attention to the movie to be able to read between the lines.

This is a must watch for everyone to remind themselves of the glorious history we inherit.

An Eye-opener into a family that has ruined our country
12 January 2019
The Accidental Prime Minister is a semi-documentary that charts the activities, events and eventual feelings of the former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh during his 10 year tenure as the PM of the world's largest democracy. The movie starts off with him becoming the PM and trying to introduce policies to transform the economy and other aspects of the country. While the PM is focused on serving the country, he seems to encounter a shadow government - the Gandhi family and the left-wing who seem to have their own personal agenda beyond the welfare of our country. I feel the censor board may have cut out important bits of information that is crucial for the storyline. A person who doesn't follow politics wouldn't be able to connect the dots, but if you have been following politics or have some sense of the political warfield of India, you'll be able to read between the lines and connect the dots - this is truly enjoyable because you then know what the movie is trying to convey. Some of the more important aspects like the people involved in massive scams and the corruption taking place have been left out - this is crucial information for people who need to re-think what the Congress and the Communist parties really have become after the Gandhis have taken over them. Many dialogues were muted during the screening - the censor board may have gone overboard. I was left wanting for more since I was expecting to get a better insight into Dr. MMS tenure. Nevertheless, this is a must watch for anyone interested in knowing what happened between 2004 to 2014. I'm going to read the book now.

Light series, looking forward to Season 2
27 November 2018
When I read that a citizen collective by the name Ultraviolet picks up crimes, uses smartphones, social media and a bit of critical thinking to solve crimes, I got interested. After the first two episodes, I was hooked to the series. This is not a series that one must binge watch, rather enjoy one episode everyday. I finished the first season and I am eagerly looking forward to season 2. While I'm doing that, I'm listening to the wonderful music from the series by Urbanski.
