The Weekend Away (2022)
Loved it
How nice to find a whodunit that doesn't rely on sex and profanity. With a rather small cast we still couldn't solve the mystery till near the end. Plus, the scenery from Croatia makes me want to visit.
Big Fish (2003)
Delightful
I loved this tale. My wife... not so much. The only complaint is that some of the tales dragged on a bit. Lots of very funny bits. A good lesson on being positive.
Summerland (2020)
Misleading.
I guess I should have done more than just read the sales pitch. This movie is NOT about a woman and a boy. Too bad, because it could have been something I enjoyed. Leaving aside any philosophical viewpoints, had I known what the movie was really about I probably would have chosen something else.
Dead to Me (2019)
Disappointing
Great premise with a lot of entertaining things, but over the top with the profanity. We were done with it after the 4th episode but still tried a 5 th. But then it became apparent that they would turn to sex to drive the series so we gave up.
After that it became apparent that the show would then turn to sexual content to entertain, so we gave up.
Madam Secretary (2014)
They ran out of ideas.
We enjoyed the first 4+ seasons. The characters were likeable and the stories intriguing, though not too heavy. But then they got super-preachy, presenting many opinions as facts. Henry, in particular, got super-annoying, grandstanding his arrogant views on everything. He changed jobs about 6 times in 3 years, as if they didn't know what to do with him. We moved on. Maybe that's why season 6 only has 10 episodes.
The Gentleman Driver (2018)
Well done!
I am by no means a race fan or have any knowledge of it. But the story was gripping and the cinematography was spectacular.
