The Blacklist (2013)
Megan Boone - wow, what a bad actress
Megan Boone's bad performance destroys a lot of an initially good tv show.
Anna (2019)
Besson's wet dream
This film is borderline stupid and again a do-over of Luc Besson's obvious one plot that he has been trying to deliver for the last 25-30 years. The story is so far fetched, blunt and unintelligent as one can be. Apart from selling technical gadgets from the late 90ies and early 2000s as mid 80s technology, the entire script was extremely naive, full of overly pathetic dialogue and women in suspender belts, to reduce, once again, women to "eye candy". Honestly, this story seems to have been written by a bunch of hormone driven 14 year olds, not of the intelligent sort...
Away (2020)
Boring and full of unbearable cliché
This could have been so good. It was so unbelievably bad. It feels hard to focus and follow this show and the story at all. The characters lack any depth, all notions and motions are overdone and overacted.
Extremely bad script writing ruined all efforts to be something this show will never ever be: of any interest.
Biohackers (2020)
Wants too much, can't deliver. Extremely poor acting and writing.
Biohackers goes to show, that some recipes, as good as they initially sound, can turn out the worst.
This show is an excellent example. Not that the dialogue is, at times, beyond stupid, the acting of some of the actors made me question their choice of profession, I know this does sound harsh, but I sometimes found myself cringe with "Fremdscham" (German for: to feel embarrassed for somebody else). Overacting, pathos, wooden stares and glances, particulary Jessica Schwarz failed her part massively.
The writers aimed at a fast paced, top of the notch Science-themed show, but ended up with a child show, that overdid everything and made the characters parodies of themselves and their inital part in the story.
I'm sure, that in a couple of years this show will even be more ridiculous when it comes to all the so called scientific milestones presented in it. Sometimes I had the feeling, that putting together IKEA furniture is way harder than quickly splicing up some gene ferry to save all of us (or vice versa) in your outhouse.
Sorry, but that's trash.
Eli (2019)
Terrible, really.
I seriously don't know and can't understand, why and how this film could receive ratings above, say, 4 at all.
At times the story is more than ridiculous, the acting poor, often you get the strong feeling that even the cast did no longer care about the hidious screenplay and unbelievably stupid dialogue. Kelly Reilly came across very unnaturally and her over the edge performance stood out negatively.
Eli's room did change between cuts within the same (!) scene, sometimes his bed would stand right next to the wall, the next moment in the middle of the room. Ever heard about continuity?!
I can understand why this film directly went to Netflix instead of cinemas/box office.
Masum (2017)
Overrated
I wanted to like this show, as quite a few things were nicely set up. The atmosphere, camera work, the scenery and the acting as well. But all these efforts unfortunately went down with the script. The suspense is there, but unfortunately dies a long and uneventful death. The ending is no surprise and there's a lot of whining, crying and adults, that obviously are so dependent on their parents, that it can drive the viewer crazy.
All of this show is blown up by a vast amount of unnecessary scenes and dialogue, that do not contribute to the story's progress in the slightest, overall a 90 minute feature could have told everything in a better pace and might have kept the viewer on.
What I really liked were the beautiful views over the Marmara region, a big minus however were a lot of stereotypes in regards to the standing of females, as providers and recipients of commands.
