Gimme a break with the reviews, were you people expecting Shakespeare?

This movie is strictly for people who enjoyed Office Space, Dumb & Dumber, Dodgeball, Ace Ventura, etc. and have the capacity to get over themselves. It's absolutely ridiculous, immature, and goofy like all of those other low brow comedies but with a way smaller budget and considerably less starpower. It's not a thinking mans movie and will never considered for an Oscar but I think anybody with common sense realizes that 5 minutes in. It's definitely not an instant classic either but people on this site are being way to hard considering what this is. All the acting is more than adequate for a screwball comedy and it has it's share of laughs and silliness. I'd recommend it for the people who just want be amused and entertained for a few hours by a little of absurdity.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013)

Funny and consistent to the original

Anchorman 2 is being bagged on here a lot but it's completely consistent to the original. I don't know what people are expecting, it's the same goofy low brow comedy that's rolled out and really what more can be expected after the bar was set so low by it's predecessor. Lot's of tomfoolery, ridiculousness, and zingers throughout although the element of surprise is missing as we are familiar with the majority of the characters. Due to this you won't be rolling on the floor of the cinema but left smiling throughout as there is a good mix of character hi-jinx, 80's references, and plot twists (as much as can be expected with this type of comedy anyways). Sure it's a little derivative as it follows the formula of the first one verbatim and goes a little too over the top at times, but realizing exactly what you're getting into allows you to overlook these obvious traits IMO. I found it enjoyable and clever as it took a lot of tongue in cheek jabs at CNN along with how dumbed down our society has become due to everyone being force-fed and accepting exactly what the media conglomerates want you to see and hear. I liked it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of silliness and mild amusement.
