Monster Hunter (2020)
Don't Bother
One of of the worst B grade films I have ever seen.
Don't bother. So glad I did not pay to see this. Absoutle garbage.
White Girl (2016)
I just didn't grab me
I just could not connect with this film. There is no message, no "learning curve" or "lesson learned" or saving grace and I don't like that.
It was brutal, and confronting and and the downward spiral of the female lead was sickening and pointless. I get that this is while happens in real life, and this perhaps is where the film was lost on me... I'm a privileged white girl who now at 35 years of age has managed to keep my nose completely clean because I made good choices. I get that this is the downward spiral of so many, who either get caught up or deliberately put themselves in those situations. I found it really really hard to watch and considered turning it off halfway through but pushed through, I feel like I've wasted 2 hours and got no enjoyment whatsoever out of it - and the film hasn't really made a point or has a purpose for me.
This review will probably upset a few people and going of majority of the reviews, I have a completely different opinion on the film to many others...
Lovecraft Country (2020)
BLOODY BRILLIANT 🙌
If your undecided, you need to get off the fence and you need to watch this.
CAN. NOT. WAIT. FOR. THE. NEXT. EPISODE!!!!
Outlaws (2017)
Sooooooo much potential, let down in the end.
Sooooooo much potential, let down in the end.
Character development in the beginning laid down real potential for a great story line. Which unfortunately never came to fruition. Several storylines now seeming pointless because they were never resolved, and the movie packed up and finished way to quickly. REALLY REALLY disappointing ending. Not specifically with the true ending (like the last 15 seconds) - but with the abrubt end to several main characters prior, which resulted (as mentioned before) in great storyline potential never coming to fruition via the need for a great conclusion.
Cursed (2020)
Netflix missed badly with this one.
Storyline with great potential, is let down by crappy acting, poor set and props and poor special effects.
If $$$ had of been put into this like it was for The Witcher or The Kingdom, and if the female lead was a better actor this series would have been a hit. I suffered through it till the end... just to see how it all panned out... I found it got progressively worse... And worse... If they happen to make a second season, I won't bother suffering through it. Netflix definitely had a miss with this one.
Hold the Dark (2018)
Weird film totally open to interpretation.
I really struggled with this film. Started out fine and then took a weird nose dive. Struggled to make sense at times, and why certain things took place. It was interesting I give it that, and had sooooo much potential. I think I can see that in the end, that we are all animals at the core... But I'm not totally sure that is the message? I guess it's one of those films that is completely open to the interpretation of the viewer. But it is a movie that you need to watch and concentrate on - even if you don't "get" or understand what's going on. It's just a weird film and spent the whole time asking "What the eff is going on?" Or saying "This isnt making sense!".
